Hello everyone-I have been reading this post for several weeks now! My family are I are taking our FIRST EVER trip to WDW in May and I booked a room at CSR (love, love, love the look of the pool)!

I booked through Small World Vacations, received a confirmation number, paid the deposit. When I asked our TA if I could call CSR directly to confirm my reservation I was told that I could not because the resort will not have my reservation yet....why not? For those of you that have used a TA before...does this sound right????

Please, don't worry another moment. I booked through Small World Vacations for my Girl's trip in 2009. It went beautifully! I had great service from Kimberly. I would have used her to book our August 2010 trip, but our emails got crossed and I was on a deadline to book before the discount ended. The TA can call and add your room requests for you. Since the resort doesn't get the information until about 10 days out it won't hurt to wait. I would not hesitate to book through them again. Have a great trip.

So I am trying to decide which would be better. Green Grocer or the gift shop. We are on the DDP so all we would need is box of cereal, milk, OJ and a few snacks. How inflated are the prices in CSR at the gift shop. Not sure I will make the $40 minimum and then have the delivery fee on top of that. Can someone give me an idea of the breakfast items for sale and what the costs are? I thought of mailing some non-perishable snack and cereals to the resort but with the postage I still might come out cheaper just to purchase at the gift shop. I don't want to pay $8 for a box of cereal but if it close to what we pay here then I might just purchase once I am down there.

KateMark: Thank you for responding. We are going to stay at CSR. I like the look of the Casitas, but my DH and DS like the hammocks at the Cabanas. I know that everything will be just a request and we are happy with whatever they give us. It's Disney :goodvibes Oh, how is CSR in Dec? We are leaning on going then :cool1:

cherylsmike & snkymom-thank you both for taking the time to reassure me. I felt better once I contacted CSR and they confirmed what the TA had told me! Along with both of your reassurances....no more worries!!! Many thanks to you both :thumbsup2

First I want to say thank you for this thread. I have learned quite a lot. We are planning our first family WDW vacation for the middle of May. We picked CSR as my husband stayed there for a convention some years ago and he liked it. I am a bit worried about some of the recent reviews about the place not being very clean. Has anyone experienced this?

Another question I had was about where we should request to be placed. Our family is myself, DH and DD (2.5 ). I was thinking of Cabanas 8a or Castistas 5 to be close to both the Dige site and a bus stop. Does this sound right?

Thank you for your help! I can't wait for my DD to experience all the Disney magic!

Does anyone know why the resort would be packed the first week in December?

DW.com has nothing but suites available! :confused3

The following conventions are going on at CSR in early December...maybe that has something to do with it?

December 1 - 4, Youth Worker Summit
December 6 - 9, National Guard Joint Information Technology
December 10 - 12, National Scholastic K-12 Chess Championship

Turk, I thought those conventions were listed for 2010. Maybe I read it wrong.

Just got back yesterday from our week long stay at CSR. We'd never stayed there before and wanted to try it since it had queen sized beds. I booked a "preferred" room and when we checked in at 10:30am (I had told them when we'd be there) our room was ready (Casitas section - 1st floor). Well, we get to the room which faced the courtyard and there were SIX manlifts in the courtyard doing some type of construction (one right outside the door). Needless to say that I was not pleased. One of the CMs had also left their coat in the room laying on the bed. I called the "front desk" (I know it goes to CRO and not the hotel front desk) and asked about getting a different room. My wife wasn't feeling good and I didn't want to her have to listen to all the noise if she wanted to lay down.

The person on the phone offered me another room in the Casitas section! I told her that I wanted to be AWAY from the construction and she said she would check with maintenance to find out and call me back. Well, I waited and waited and waited but she never called back. So we grab all our stuff and head back to registration and I get the same person who checked me in. I told them I didn't care about "preferred" rooms because that was where the construction was going on. I asked about a room in the Cabanas section but was told, "Those are never available." I tell them that I want a new room and they eventually get me one in the Rancho's section. The manager said the room was ready but the CM said it wasn't showing ready by housekeeping. I said no problem because we were heading to DTD for lunch. They said it should be ready shortly and they would text me. This was about 11:30am or so.

Well, 3:00pm comes and goes and still no text so we head back to the resort to see what's up. This time they tell me that it's not ready and probably won't be ready for another couple hours. At this point my wife (I call her my bulldog) has had enough and so she goes back in and comes back out with a room in...WAIT FOR IT....the Cabanas (section 8B). Which is where I wanted to be in the first place!

My wife came away with the impression that they had mistakenly given our Ranchos room to someone else. I wasn't standing there for that conversation so I can't say for sure. In any case, the whole situation was much more frustrating than it should have ever been. They did credit us the additional charges for the "preferred" room. The 8B location was very close to the main pool.

Overall, the room was fine - nothing special other than having queen beds. We only ate breakfast at the Pepper Market and it was extremely average. The french toast seemed like it had been heat lamped to within an inch of it's life! The cooked to order eggs were good, my daughter really liked her waffle (made fresh) and my son liked his breakfast burrito (also made fresh).

Would I stay here again? Probably not unless I REALLY, REALLY wanted the queen beds. Otherwise, I'd choose CBR hands down. Housekeeping was OK, nothing special. We had to ask for additional towels and wash cloths because they only had two of each in the room (makes no sense) and those were delivered within about 20 minutes. The one comforter had lipstick on it and we asked to have it changed (and we tipped every day) but it took several days before they changed it. No towel animals or anything like that either. Our room was always made up when we got back from the parks. I can't comment on the bus situation because we rented a car (I hate using the buses).

The pool was nice and the kids enjoyed the slide. The wife and I each had one drink at the pool bar and the tab was $18.00 with tip. The kids wanted to check out the arcade so we headed over there with our arcade coupon that came in our WDW package. The 100 arcade points were good for TWO games (each cost 50 points) so that was kind of a joke. We'd never bothered with the arcade before so maybe this is normal.

Overall, I'd rate CSR as slightly above average. Your mileage may very.

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry the CSR did not live up to your expectations and that you had issues with checking in (on the arcade card...I am pretty sure that is the norm if it was part of the package deal). At least you gave it a try and you now knolw that you prefer the CBR. Hope the rest of your trip was great and that your wife ended up feeling better really soon.

CSR is the 4th and last resort that I reserve this week! I have changed my mind that many times. This is our first trip to Disney. Me 42 and DS 11 and Dd 8. Five nights and we are over planned! We will have a car but I hate driving. Close to bus stops (early breakfast plans) and close to the pool ( we love to swim late). I did not pay for a preferred room. Thankfully it doesn't look like there are any conventions the first week of April. I reserved thru Disney. I am so confused on where I should request!!! We don't care about the resort restaurant. Hammocks would be a bonus but not necessary. BTW what time does the pool close?

Cabana 8A would be great -- very close to the main pool and not far from Bus Stop and the hammocks; Casitas 4 or 5 is close to the quiet pool and the first bus stop picked up and dropped off.

I don't know if there is a "set" time that the main pool closes (the quiet pools close at 9 p.m.). We have been in the main pool at 12:30 a.m..

Hi everyone.

I have 6 wedding guests staying at CSR and am putting together a little information sheet for them.

Does anyone have photos of the bus stops/bus stop signs at all?

All of my guests are WDW virgins, so I want to put them at ease that the transport is easy peasy.

Awww...congrats on the upcoming wedding!

I dont know anything about the bus stops, but am sure someone here can help...if they haven't done so already. :goodvibes

I had read somewhere that the cabana quiet pool was going to be closed for rehab until 2/11. Can't find that anymore. Does anyone know if this is true? We will be in Disney during that time and planned a quick stay at CSR.
