Hi everyone.

I have 6 wedding guests staying at CSR and am putting together a little information sheet for them.

Does anyone have photos of the bus stops/bus stop signs at all?

All of my guests are WDW virgins, so I want to put them at ease that the transport is easy peasy.

Hi, Heather. Although Mark and I really love Casitas 4 and 5, I would highly recommend Cabanas 8A if you can get it. It is super close to the main pool, pool bar (gotta have an anniversary cocktail), hot tub and a short walk to the hammocks which are closer to Cabanas 9A and 9B. We stayed in 8A in September and absolutely loved the location.

Happy Anniversary. And don't feel guilty about the kids. We did a little the first time we went without them (my DH's 50th birthday) and the boys were 14 and 16; but by the time we got there and stepped into the resort we forgot all about them. :rotfl::rotfl:

Uhh now my husband is looking at the Casitas and wondering if thats what we should do:confused3
KatMark what do you think, also is there a particular floor or view you would suggest? Sorry to pester you I am putting a deposit down tomorrow. I really appreciate this, Thanks!!!

I just booked a trip for the last week of March and we are staying at CSR. Has anyone gone at this time of year? What can we expect for crowd levels? Does CSR tend to have really crowded buses at busy times, or do they just keep them moving faster?

We stayed at POP early last June, and I was really impressed with how efficient everything was. The food court, the buses, the pools weren't bad...

We are not really that thrown off by crowds...it is Disney, after all. Just wondered.

Also, did you find that the weather was nice enought to use the pools pretty regularly? I looked up the average temps, and it looks like it will be about 80.

We have wanted to stay here for a few years now, so I'm pretty excited!

Hi - we went that time last year and the crowds were not bad at all...like surprisingly low...the weather was mid 70's to low 80's but for some reason that felt HOT and we used the pool 4 days out of the 6 we were there. Florida hot is hotter than Wisconsin hot, I guess! ;)

We had a low-70's day with torrential rain and we swam in it and it was great!!! Nothing like being in that huge, warm pool when it's raining. Turned out to be a great afternoon despite no visits to the parks.

We stayed in the Cabanas and used Bus Stop 4 and we never had a problem with crowded buses, I'm hoping that's the type of experience we'll have when we go again this March. Love the CSR, love the efficiency of staying on-grounds. I have no doubt you will love it too! :flower3:

If you don't mind NOT being close to the main pool, I would ask for Casitas 4 or 5. You could get lucky and get upgraded to a water view of one of the fountains or the lake or the quiet pool. We like it here because of the courtyards and the quiet pool and it is close to the fitness center where I always get a massage (it's also close to the first bus stop if you are using the buses). If you want to be closer to the main pool, I'd definitely ask for Cabanas 8A or 8B.

EIs there one over the other you like 4 or 5? A massage sounds heavenly!!!
Thank you again!!

I really like Casitas 5 the best...I like the courtyard there (Mark and I often sit there at night to just relax, look at the stars, etc.).

Hello everyone,
This is my first post and I am very excited to even be planning a Disney Vacation:cool1:. I was wondering about Resorts and my son said he likes the look of CS. He is going to be 10yrs old and wondered if this is a great resort for him. This will be my DH, DS(10), and baby's first trip to Disney. This will be my first time staying onsite and haven't been to Disney in 12 years :confused3 We are planning on going either in August or December. Still not sure. Any advice would be much appriciated. Thank you:goodvibes

My DH and I are booked at CSR for 4 nights next month and we are very excited!

Haven't made any room requests, we are booked in a standard room, and I think we will just take our chances. I do love the look of the Casitas though!

Just wanted to share my excitment with someone!

KatMark can you give me an estimate on how far the Casitas are from the main pool? On the map it doesn't seem that far to me, but I'm not a great map reader either :headache: I think the Casitas are beautifu, but DS,16 lives for the pool and will spend as much time as he can there. I'm not so worried about him getting there as much as I am about me or DH having to walk over and get him out of the pool so we won't be late for dinner.

I'm going back to page 1 and take a peak at the Cabanas.

Hello everyone-I have been reading this post for several weeks now! My family are I are taking our FIRST EVER trip to WDW in May and I booked a room at CSR (love, love, love the look of the pool)!

I booked through Small World Vacations, recieved a confirmation number, paid the deposit. When I asked our TA if I could call CSR directly to confirm my reservation I was told that I could not because the resort will not have my reservation yet....why not? For those of you that have used a TA before...does this sound right????

Our youngest son was 10 when he first stayed at the CSR. He loved it (more than All Star Sports and the Poly). He loved the pool and slide; he and his brother loved playing sand volleyball, and the arcade. I think your son will enjoy it.

Welcome! Feel free to post any questions or thoughts...lots of great people here who share your excitement.

My DH and I are both in our 50's (I'm younger :goodvibes); it takes me seven minutes at a normal pace to walk from Casitas 4 to the main pool (ten minutes if I stop to look in the lake for the alligator or to take pictures of the landscaping).

First, calling the phone number for the CSR does NOT get you to the CSR directly. The call actually goes to the CRO (Central Reservations Office) and they answer CSR becasue they see the call coming into the "CSR").

However, what your TA said is not making sense. When did you make the reservation and make the deposit (get confirmation number)? I would call and see what they say or have Small World call and have it noted on your ressie where you want to be.

KatMark-I made the reservation on January 3rd, paid the deposit, and was given a confirmation number by my TA through Small World Vacations. I asked her if I could "call CSR directly and confirm that they have my room reservation" and was told I could not because "the resort won’t even have your reservation, yet." I then asked her how I would know if I even had a room reservation and was told that "Disney’s reservation system is very complex and the resorts don’t even download reservation information until just before guests’ arrivals."

I am just wondering how a room will be held for me if they do not even have my reservation yet??? Please help:confused3

I have never heard anything like that. I would call CRO and see if what they tell you. I wouldn't rest until this is settled. Something just doesn't sound right to me. Keep us posted.

KatMark-Ironically I just called CRO and they confirmed what my TA had told me-they do not have specific information until 10 days before we arrive! I am wondering if it would have been handled the same way had I just booked the reservation myself...oh well...as long as we have a room when we get there :confused3

Thank you-I'm going to stick with the Casitas, they are just so beautiful to me. They remind me of something out of a Zorro movie :rotfl:

And the bus stop being so close is a huge plus for my DH.

Hello everyone!

I've just booked my family at CSR for the week prior to Easter for a little spring break getaway. We have never stayed there before, so I'm excited.

I booked through the Disney website (first time I've done that - when we went last year we used AmEx points to cover our room, so they handled everything) and I'm wondering at what point I can I call and request a certain building or location? Is it worth even trying, or should I just leave it up to fate?

On that note, I'm also trying to figure out what to request. I have to say that the look of the Rancheros doesn't do much for me. We have 3 boys under the age of 10 (one in a stroller) and we will have our car so I expect we will be driving to the parks more than taking the bus. I'm leaning towards the Cabanas because I like the beachy feel and figure a walk over the bridge to the big pool isn't a big deal. Does that sound about right to you veterans? Am I missing some logic somewhere? I'm open to recommendations.

I always book our trips on the WDW site, and call within a couple of days with our requests. I also make sure to do the online check-in where I put my requests in again. We have had success with our requests (we check in mid-week early in the day so that probably helps), but we keep them simple. We request cabanas and put the rooms in order of preference. Jus getting any Cabana (or Mansions at POR) is a win for us. We also ask for 1st floor.

We really like Cabanas, especially 8A which is the closest building to the Dig Site (main pool). The bus stop is also right behind it. The stroll to the main building is 6 or 7 minutes over the bridge. We love the Cabanas area with the hammocks (DS made sure to try every one :goodvibes.

Alot of folks like the Casitas. 4 and 5 are closer to the pool, further from the main building.

Yes, this is true. While the reservation is "in the system" in that the room is no longer in inventory, CRO doesn't have the specific information from travel agents until about 10 days before arrival. I think they do it this way so that guests don't bypass their travel agents and go to Disney themselves. Disney's paying the TA and so don't want to deal with the guest directly. This is true of every TA, not just Small Worlds. But don't worry - they're a good agency and you WILL have a room when you get there!

If you had made the reservation yourself directly with Disney, of course they'd have all the information and could access it, modify it, etc. But then Disney wouldn't be paying a commission, only a CM's salary.
