just stopping by the CSR thread:) I just wanted to add my 2 cents about CSR! My mom and I stayed there for the first time last sept and it is a beautiful resort!!! The grounds are gorgeous, we loved staying in Cabanas 8B and laying on the hammocks at night drinking a adult beverage ( however take a towel to cover your legs of you might get eaten alive by bugs) The quiet pool was wonderful, the bus stop was nice a close to our budiling-- and by far had the best bus service than any other resort I have ever stayed in before! We are going again this Sept-- and booked at ASMU to save money-- however last night we changed to CSR because we rather spend a little more to stay at this beautiful resort. We also really enjoyed the pepper market and loved the nachos which was a nice snack to share or for a lunch:) The dig site pool was great-- the slide at the pool was great--- and food at the poolside bar was good too! Just beware for squirels they were trying to help us eat lunch:) And to top it all off-- you have a nice HUGE hot tub on resort to soak your tired legs and feet at the end of the day:) It doesn't get any better than CSR!

:rotfl:

That is probably not funny to someone who is scared of them, but my crazy son and hubby would LOVE that.

Here is a pepper market question: what did everyone enjoy at the pepper market most for breakfast? I am going to try to eat move breakfast this year. I want to try to space meals out a little more so I can enjoy my food and not feel too full to take another bite by the end of the week:lmao:

Thanks Claire&TheBoys for your thoughts; I like that you've stayed at both, so you have personal experience with both resorts! You've given me even more to think about!!!

Glad to help! Send me a PM if you have any other specific questions and I'll be glad to help you if I can. :goodvibes

I really liked the french toast and Mark really liked the omelet.

Yes, all the buildings have elevators. :thumbsup2

All buildings EXCEPT Casitas 2 have elevators.

I have gone thru a ton of the pages in this thread & I apologize. I am getting some answers that vary - thought it would just be easiest to ask my questions again & hope someone could clarify without going thru another 35 pages...........

1. I read that Maya Grill has a breakfast buffet? But haven't located the cost. Allears did not have the buffet listed separately. Does anyone have price detail on that & what it includes?

2. Where is Cafe Rix located? I can't locate it on any of the property maps I am looking at? Seems as if this would be ideal to get the day started if we can refill mugs there?

3. Is there now an internal shuttle system to avoid walking? I have read that there is a 'new' internal shuttle system of golf carts & that there is not.

4. Refillable mug can be refilled at Pepper Market? First read no, then yes.

5. Can your room charge at PM? Or can you use Disney Gift Cards directly at Pepper? (read that it is not owned by Disney).

6. To get to mini-golf we can take the Blizzard Beach bus for Winter Summer - but I lost the directions to get to Fantasia. Do I need to head to a park actually (or DTD) & then take a bus back to Swan/Dolphin? Or is there a more direct mid-route I am not thinking of?

Hi All, I'm new to DIS and just wanted to say thanks for all the useful information on this thread. Just switched from POP to CSR for our trip in March. Was a bit worried about the the size of the resort since my ds is only 2. But everyone here has made me feel super confident that things will be fine and now i'm super excited! :cool1:

1. I read that Maya Grill has a breakfast buffet? But haven't located the cost. Allears did not have the buffet listed separately. Does anyone have price detail on that & what it includes? It used to be a buffet, but changed to an "ala carte" restaurant awhile ago.

2. Where is Cafe Rix located? I can't locate it on any of the property maps I am looking at? Seems as if this would be ideal to get the day started if we can refill mugs there? Cafe Rix is located in the main building next to the gift shop. Yes, you can refill mugs here.

3. Is there now an internal shuttle system to avoid walking? I have read that there is a 'new' internal shuttle system of golf carts & that there is not. No; they stopped the internal shuttle years ago. It is now only used for convention guests who pay for it. HOWEVER, there is the rare occasion that one of hte driver so the golf cart will ask if you want a ride.

4. Refillable mug can be refilled at Pepper Market? First read no, then yes. Not within the restaurant itself (the servers will fill for you); however, if you go to the coffee window they will fill it for you.

5. Can your room charge at PM? Or can you use Disney Gift Cards directly at Pepper? (read that it is not owned by Disney).

All of my answers are in red. I don't know about #5 as I've never attempted either one because we are have been on the dining plan for the last four or five trips and I don't remember if we ever charged meals to our room prior to that.

Thanks - we will hope someone else has the answer to #5. Although I sure think we can get the day started with Rix. DD's boyfriend wants cereal so we are probably packing a big box & some disposable bowls in the suitcase (thank goodness I can do a checked bag free with Delta CC).

The internal shuttle was listed on AllEars & they are usually pretty up to date so I may send them a message to check on that. They had it listed as this: It's an awful big resort -- is there any other way to get around besides walking? Coronado Springs offers a new internal shuttle system. Transportation is provided in marked golf carts that bring guests to and from all villages of the resort. There are also designated stops in each of the villages as well as El Centro. So they may need to update their website a bit.

I had edited my post while you were probably replying - do you know the answer to number 6 that I had edited in? I am thinking I have to head to a park or DTD & then pick up another bus to get to Swan/Dolphin?

Let's say, for instance, you are in Ranchos and decide it is too long to walk to El Centro (the main building). You can catch a park bus at the Ranchos Stop and take it to El Centro which is the last stop picked up going to the parks.

Personally, I really find the talk of the "long walks" overexaggerated. I've had a long walk from our room at the Contemporary to the pool, food or monorail, than I have from Casitas 5 to the main pool or the main building at the CSR.

I just want to say a quick thanks to Kathy and Claire for providing much needed information about the Coronado. This will be our first trip to CSR and you have been great answering all of my questions.

What are your honest reviews about having dinner at the Maya? I have read mixed reviews.:confused3

TIA.

We are staying here in September, it looks like a beautifull resort. Thanks for all the info in this thread. :)

I have to agree with Kathy on this one. We were in Casitas 4 last year, which was a very short walk to Bus Stop 2 and maybe five minutes or so to El Centro. The Dig Site was a bit longer. But the grounds are so beautiful. The walks never felt tiresome to me, even after being out at a park for a long time. And I wouldn't say I'm in amazing shape, either! :lmao:

You are very welcome. There are lots of wonderful people here on this thread who are more than willing to help when they can. As for Maya, believe it or not, in our nine stays we have never had dinner there. However, I have two close friends that I've met through the DIS, who have both stayed at CSR and loved the Maya Grill. In fact, one of them stayed at the WL last year, but made a special trip to the CSR to have dinner at Maya Grill becuase they loved it so much. And they gae it two thumps up again.

When in September? I will be there September 25, 26, 27 and 28 and we will try to plan a DIS meet.

We love the Maya. When we couldn't get the swan for all 7 of our days in feb, we discussed a mod for two days and immediately DW and DS voted for a return to CSR, which we stayed at last feb (DS for the pool and DW for a dinner at Maya).

After all the reviews we read, we weren't going to eat there. But because we were too tired to go back to EPCOT one night we went there instead. It was so good, we ate there again the last night at WDW!

If I haven't said this before, thanks for this great thread. I'm very surprised you haven't dined at Maya yet! Give it a try!

It took my DW many years to get me to try CSR, and now it is our whole family's favorite mod! :lovestruc

Don'tr know about charging to you room, but I would imagine you can charge it to your room key if you have linked a credit card to your account at check in.
