Our ressie is for check in on 12/6. But, I've been trying to add the 5th for about 6 weeks...we want to come in the day before. I've checked online at least once a day and sometimes I even call, just hoping I'll get lucky by phone! We have an AP rate w/ DxDP, but at this point, I'd pay rack rate for one night. What amazes me is that the entire hotel is booked!?! I know that Pop Warner invades the Value resorts that week, but could they be spilling over into CSR? :scared1: I thought they usually overflowed to POFQ if Values were booked.

We are park warriors and spend VERY little time in our room. CSR is our resort of choice, our fave of the mods. But, I am a little nervous that the hotel appears to be full. Does anyone know of any big conferences scheduled at CSR that week? I think there is a dental conference scheduled at BC, but anything at CSR?

DH thinks we should just drive down on the 5th and see if we can check in early, like if we are standing there in front of them a room will be open that is not showing up now as an advanced reservation! Any opinions about that plan? I guess the worst thing that could happen is they say no and we have to go off site for the night.

Thoughts, suggestions, recommendations anyone? Hope this is the right place for this post...

On a side note...can't wait to be in the World in less than a week!!! :yay:

We happen to really love staying at the Nickelodeon Resort. It is super fun. If you can't get in at CSR, maybe you could consider that? It's really close to WDW. I'm personally a CSR fan too but we try to add in the Nick Resort when we can.

while I'm nopt an expert on CSR at this late date I doubt a room is available....are you trying to book for 1 night (the 5ht) or chAange your current to include the 5th? have you considered staying one night off site...
and from what I have heard Pop Warner is at POR this year and the overflow ??
I don't think being there (standing in front of them would make much difference) I have seen them turn people away during busy dates

We already have a ressie for a week at CSR, starting the 6th...we are trying to add on the night of the 5th. We haev considered staying off site for just that night, or maybe even at another WDW resort. I will keep trying, maybe someone that is currently there will check out early and a room will open. We've had to do that before, so I guess it's possible.

Good to know about the Chess tournament. Sounds much calmer than the Pop Warner group! ;)

well, the Chess group will still have several hundred kids but yes they are calmer...LOL The tourney keeps them pretty busy and they will mostly be in the convention center.. They can have up to 10 hours play on Friday and can have up to 16 hours play on Sat and 10 hours on Sunday... Each round allows for 5 hours although not all play that long.....
But, I'm a veteran chess mom- my kid has been playing since 1st grade and is now in 9th- been to lots of chess tournaments.. Mostly, the kids are well-behaved but they are still kids........

We don't mind kids...it is WDW! :rotfl: We've actually considered Chess lessons for our DD, so maybe we can catch a round or two in the tourney or they'll have general information about chess at the conference. Thanks for the info!

After nearly booking CSR lat year (but choosing POLY for the Princess 1/2 convenience) I just booked CSR for 7 nights in March! After lots and lots of going back and forth about the money difference between POP and CSR we decided the queen beds and more floor space were worth the extra $364, as it is only about $50 per night!

I am going to ask for 9B top floor and leave my request at that hoping that if I do not get that building I will get one close by.

Thanks to everyone and to KatMark for putting together all the great info! :goodvibes

I am sure this has been answered many times but I can't seem to find the answer. I want to take our Ipods on the trip for workout (yeah I know keep dreaming!!) but need to know if the clock radios have a dock to charge the ipod or do I need to get a wall charger? Thanks for any help.

Can someone fill me in on the Magical Express bus stop order when arriving at CSR? I've read online that the bus stops at Pop and then CSR and then AK. But I was at Pop this past May and we stopped at CBR first and then went to Pop, which I think was the final stop. Maybe this changes depending on the needs of the day? Maybe Pop has more than one ME route?

The reason I'm curious is because we received our ME tags (YAY!!!!) and they say AK in the mickey head on them. I think our tags last May said POP, although I'm not sure...

I would appreciate anyone going over the next couple of weeks to post about the check-in experience. I'm debating on whether or not to do online check-in. I made a building request on my reservation but won't be heartbroken of it doesn't happen. I just remember reading in the old thread (I think) that sometimes the online queue moves slower and they only have 1 CM available. We're checking in on December 18th, so I anticipate crowds but would love to save time wherever I can. Disney minutes are precious!
:goodvibes
Thanks!

Thanks!

We'll be there next week - checking in on Saturday 12/4. We have had a location request attached to our reservation, and have done online checkin.

So we'll see what happens.

I have a quick question. I will be travelling with my wife, DD2 and my mother. We are staying at CSR and will have a rental car. What is the best section to request? Thanks.

I know there is a cabanas section request attached to my reservation, I don't want to keep adding requests, so if I wait till we get there and tell them then that I'd like cabanas or casitas, will they change it to one of those sections if they already have me assigned to ranchos? Or is it too late, once they assign your room it's set in stone? TIA

Don't give-up. Room-only reservations can be canceled up to five days prior to arrival without penalty. I would recommend that you keep trying at least up to five days prior to your arrival. It just takes one cancellation and good timing to get that extra night up front that you need.

Good luck!

If you aren't happy with your room location AND your preferred location is available, they can switch your room location upon arrival. To increase your odds of receiving your preferred location, check-in as early as possible.

Have a great vacation!

Hi! :welcome:

If you go to the first page, Kathy has some great photos and info in the different areas of the resorts. Take a look and see what theming you like the best. She also tells you how close different areas are from each other.

Can I still fax in a request 4 days before I check in even if I do the online check in?

I always bring my own car and like to have a room close to the parking lot. (That leaves the waterview rooms for everyone else!)

At CSR, Bldg 1 is where I have stayed (also close to ElCentro), but looking on the map, 9 would work well too. I look at the resort maps to decide where I want to request to be closer to the parking.

Can't wait to hear how wonderful it was!

ME routes change depending on where people who get off that plane need to go. Sometimes it'll stop at POP first, sometimes it'll go to AK first, whatever. When we went last time, CSR was the first stop.

No way to be sure.

And I also got the AK ME tags, and asked about them because I was confused. The reason for it is that CSR is considered an "Animal Kingdom" resort - it's just an indication of which park it's closest to. Has nothing to do with the ME route.

But we actually put a request for top floor Ranchos :rotfl:
We wanted the top floor because we HATE people above us stomping on the floors. We are are awakened very easily.
We requested the Ranchos because it's much more quiet out there. Especially since the last half of our trip is going to be during one of the busiest times of the year (Christmas week). I am pretty sure they would be able to give us those requests since they don't usually get a request for those 2 things together ;)
We're not too crazy are we?
