Cooking in Villa with Large Group

We've done a variety of things, have had groceries delivered, also have rented a car and gone to the grocery store. WE do like staying at AKV when we make the grocery runs; easier and quicker to get off property and the Publix is pretty close by. We also tend to do pasta, sandwiches, one dish meals, etc. My ONE highest recommendation is, if you plan to do any frozen pizzas, bring a pizza cutter! There is nothing in those kitchens that is really adequate for cutting pizzas!

I so agreed with that. We had family sharing a 2 bedroom at AKL. I was trying to have sliced meat and cheese in the fridge for easy snacking. It was more like tearing the meat into hunks not slices. After that trip I always packed a "good" knife. Good enough to use but not one to cry over if left behind.

I think the idea of frozen pans of lasagna, etc was great. For my family which included kids. I had gotten the single serve boxes of cereal. Everyone had a choice and left over boxes were munched on the drive home.

Several people have mentioned renting a car for one day to go to the store. How does that work? Did the rental company bring the car to your resort and pick it up? Who do you use? How much does that cost?

Last time we went, I packed anything that didn't need to be refrigerated, and we bought milk, bread, and a few other items at the resort. We were debating on trying an online grocer this time because we are hoping one of them can deliver us Thanksgiving dinner. I've seen a few delivery services mentioned such as We Go Shop and Garden Grocer.

Any suggestions of which online grocer to use or more information on renting a car would be appreciated.
