Here's something to get you talking...I just got this in my email box. I'm interested to hear people's takes on it:

This is the website they gave: Country First

I have mixed feelings, so I'm just curious to see what others have to say. Figured this was a good place ;)

ETA: Seriously?? "My Friend" I'm sorry, but enough already...

I just got that e-mail as well and came here to see if anyone was posting about it... I don't know, but for some reason I am hesitating. I think I would be more eager to join if it had come from Palin. I was never a big fan of McCain and now I really think his time has passed.

I will have to think on it and learn more about it.

I felt the same way when I read it. I would like to see someone new.

To me it sounds like, we want to really be a voice of the people and see what it is that you want us to do, but first can I have some money??

And since I don't really get it, no. He can't have my money. I mean, it kind of sounds like a good idea, but at the same time, I don't think they need any kind of grassroots organization for it. It just sounds weird. And the timing on it is really unusual. :confused3

Yes, I am with you. Time for a new generation of conservative politicians.

Conservative politicians with conservative principles that are not automatically compromised every time someone says: "Let's work together".

That would be my wish.

Yeah, I had a dream that I was married to Hugh Laurie last night. Man, if he were not an atheist and 20 years younger, I would totally go for it. Wow, I know when I say these things that I need to get another boyfriend SOON!! :scared:

love him. LOVE him. LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVE HIM! perfect for me. 'cept for his wife and family, who are mere obstacles.

Sounds like we are agreeing on this one..

McCain already got some of my money, and I wasn't real happy with what he did with it. Like I said before, if it had come from Palin or another strong Republican I would think it was a good idea. It sorta sounds like something Newt would do, and I would more trust him to organize and get things done.

We need a strong Republican leader to rise to the top, and for me, that isn't McCain.

I got the same thing.:thumbsup2 I'm kinda like you- somewhat mixed feelings on the subject.

I think we all stayed up a bit too late last night :surfweb:
Just ask Michelle67- I was still here at 2:30am!:rotfl:

:thumbsup2 YESSS!!!! My thoughts exactly!

I can think of quite a few people I feel the exact same way about....:rolleyes1
Hugh Laurie isn't on my list, but I have plenty of other guys on there....:rotfl:

Agreed. I was kind of baffled when it came across my inbox. I just bought some buttons to wear to the public market from him, so I guess that counts as giving money :confused3

Our public market makes me laugh, my boyfriend doesn't understand why I like going. But I'm all for supporting local and they sell this fancy pasta that's just to die for. This stuff: http://www.pappardellesonline.com/servlet/StoreFront YUM! Anyways...I got side tracked. He laughs because there's always people out there handing out a Socialist newspaper and during the election all the Democrat candidates were handing out "vote for me" postcards. So I bought a button and slapped it on my tote bag that I take to the market so no one bugs me :thumbsup2 Sure I almost had a few choice words with people, but I just smiled and took another bite of my muffin

looked to me that was what the organization is promoting...a new generation of conservative politicians. i'm all for that. anyway, i subscribed to e-mail updates to find out what's really going on, but i suspect they're getting ready to start positioning people like jindal and...darn...what's his name...the guy whose name i can never remember...maybe starts with an "r"...(doggone it.)

UPDATE: mike pence (does not involve the letter "r".)

UPDATE AGAIN: i meant to say starting to position people for congress and the next presidential election.

Yeah, the wife and family are small barriers as well, but I could just sit and listen to his accent all day. :lovestruc

I have to agree with you, there. I like McCain a lot and I think he has a lot of integrity, but his campaign was not run well at all. Plus, he is part of the generation that is on it's way out. Personally, I would like to wait and see Palin get another term or two if governorship under her belt and then lead a movement like this. In the meantime, Jindal would be perfect.

It's times like this I miss J.C. Watts.

i don't care WHO leads the movement, just as long as there is one and people are following it. i'm glad they're starting to bring attention to the need now, but wouldn't have minded if it had begun on november 5. i'm not even convinced mccain is leading the movement, he was just the most recent presidential candidate, with the most experience in government, so he's in the video. and i think we'll see a lot of the interim generation of conservatives bolstering the movement now, but promoting the newer generation, in order to maintain consistency, longevity, and familiarity in the conservative arena.

in any event, i think it would be good to forward the link around and post it periodically.
