The military deal is a wonderful offer and it's great that Disney is doing it. So many military folks who couldn't otherwise afford it are going to be part of the Magic!!
hrmm...DH just sent me the email about the military special Disney is offering this year to all active duty military....apparently he wants to try and figure out a way to go.
If we do figure out a way to swing it...I'm gonna be calling on ALL of your help to plan it. I haven't been there in 15 yearsand last time I was there I was with my mouseketeer friend, so I did things most people don't get to do. I've never stayed on property either but we'd likely do POP since it is most affordable. DH and I aren't big on paying for hotel rooms when we only plan to sleep there.
Soarin' how long are you there??
I love all the big Disney characters. But I think Pop is better for the bus service.hrmm...DH just sent me the email about the military special Disney is offering this year to all active duty military....apparently he wants to try and figure out a way to go.

As a CM, I will be able to get additonal discounts for people so that combined with the military discount could make this a very cheap trip.
I can feel the excitement building!! Oh, and guess where I'll be two weeks from today?? WDW!!
Geez Soarin, Glenn Beck and Disney World in 2 weeks, sounds like a good time!

Still praying for you and your mom. Thanks for the update.Hi all. Hope all's well with everyone.
My mom has her first surgery tomorrow, which is the biopsy of the 2nd area that they couldn't get in the Dr.'s office. She'll be knocked out for it (it'll be done in the hospital). It's not supposed to take long, but I'm a nervous wreck and really agitated right now. Prayers for her are still appreciated, as are prayers for me. As it is now they think she needs around 5 weeks of radiation, but no chemo. I pray that that stays that way. I've only been more scared than this once in my life, and that was when my grandfather had a massive stroke. Stressful time.
I'm not posting much, but still reading. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, tonight and tomorrow especially.
Oh gosh, I'm jealous. I would love to go down there with extended family. I hope you have perfect weather and a wonderful time.On a happy note, today begins our official 60 day countdown to WDW Spring Break 09!!!!!!
Woohoo!!
We are doing BWV this year. We have never stayed there (did visit their pool once). The boys LOVE the roller coaster clown slide. I like the close proximity to EPCOT's world pavillion. I have this dream of drinking my way around WS. Never done it before.....never even got close......but I wonder if that is simply because of the looooooooong walk/stagger/crawl back to the monorail/busses I was dreading.
Cannot wait. We are taking one set of grandparents and my sister's family with us. The nice thing about this, is we can all fit into one Grand Villa. Last time we had 22 people with us so we really had to spread out room wise.
Should be a wonderful trip.
DW insists we give Disney a shot at emptying the wallet a bit more and look at Bay Lake resort. I intend to play tough on this, given the recent financial downturn. She asked about it tonight and I simply said two words:
"Dodd" and "Franks"

You know, I feel for the guy. Just a little bit. Okay, a real tiny bit, but I feel for him - just on this though, nothing else.Uh, oh.... More bad vibes for Mr. Planet Healer! Al Qaeda #2 has officially blamed him for the IDF attacks in Gaza:
Eh, she needs to come over to our side. We've got better food, we're funny, we tell great jokes, and we share great recipes. Plus, we're cool.Yup, Akhenaton is good people. Just playing for the other team is all.

Good morning everyone!
I am officially eating the worst double cheeseburger I have ever gotten from McD's. It's awful. Blech - I'm disappointed because I love their double cheeseburgers and I never get to have them. Bummer.

Oh - my inlaws gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card for Christmas and I ordered my books online. I got three delivered to me yesterday - Glenn's "An Inconvenient Book," a Politically Correct Guide to the Consitution (can't wait to read this one) and IKE - (biography of Eisenhower). I'm reading Glenn's book right now. He's a funny guy. (I don't remember the authors of the other two).

I am curious, what does your name mean? Everytime I see it I subconsiously have flashbacks in my mind of that female character in "The Mummy" Ankhsunamun or something like that....

She's still struggling. She'll be fine one minute and the very next minute she sees double, can't grasp or speak. She talked with her neuro on Monday and asked for surgery. They are going to take out her thymus (not sure how that's spelled) and put her on a chemotherapy like drug. I'll probably go down there to help her while she's in the hospital for chemo.
She's got good spirits about it and is very positive. Once the thymus is out and the chemo is done, they are expecting a nearly full recovery. Good news.
I can't believe I ate that whole cheeseburger. It was yucky and I still ate the whole thing.
Glad to hear of the full recovery. I have been thinking we should start a thread in here where people can post someone who needs our prayers (and that is all that is posted in there). Responses can be posted elsewhere. This would be a neat way to keep track of who we need to be thinking of.

My Friend,
In the time since the 2008 presidential campaign ended I have had a chance to reflect on many things. And as I said on election night, I truly cannot adequately express how indebted I am to you, my entire campaign team and my running mate, Governor Sarah Palin.
The road was a difficult one from the outset. Yet, your faith, your support and friendship never wavered. Just as I have proudly served my country for more than half a century I am as committed as ever to helping see our mission through.
So to continue the movement, I have decided to launch a new grassroots organization called Country First.
Today, I'm asking you as a friend and supporter to renew your commitment to our common goals by becoming a Charter Member of Country First with an online contribution.
Country First will allow us to strengthen our Party, better define our Republican ideals and message, recruit and back strong, dedicated candidates and continue our efforts to bring real reform to government by always putting our country and the noble ideals she stands for first.
Together, we can make government more responsive to today's problems and more answerable to the people. That's why I hope you will become a Charter Member of Country First and support our cause by following this link to make a generous contribution of any amount today.
With your help we can work to elect these new leaders to Governorships, Statehouses, the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and beyond. Once in office they will become fierce advocates for limited government, economic opportunity, personal responsibility and strong national security.
On Election Night last year, I called on all Americans not to despair of our present difficulties but to believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here.
Today, I am asking you to join Country First to continue fighting for the worthy cause of revitalizing both our democracy and our Party.
Our goals will never be realized if your voice falls silent. You are the best hope for our country's success. Please stay in this fight with me; our country needs your service now as much as ever.
I know that together we can make a difference - we already have. Again, I thank you for your unwavering friendship and support.
Sincerely,
John McCain
P.S. Country First will serve as a powerful voice for the American people. It will allow us to get our Republican message out to the voters and elect a new generation of Republican leaders who can go to Statehouses and Congress to fight for all we believe in. Please join as a Charter Member of Country First by following this link to make a contribution today. Thank you.
