Hi...we settle at the end of Aug. :cool1: so this is all new to me....I have a question about tickets...we are going in Nov. and will need about 3 days of tickets...we also will go in June and need about 7 days....as I understand, DVC owners get a discount on annul passes....where can i find out the cost of these tickest with our discount...I would like to see if the new MYW tickets would be cheaper...we would be using about 10 days...so i am not sure which ticket would be best for us...thanks...for any help.. :teeth: amy

The price for the AP is $295 adults, $251 ages 3-9. However, tax must be added.

You will almost certainly come out better with an Annual Pass. Also, having an annual pass makes you eligible for the Disney Dining Experience card, as well as other benefits.

As a DVC owner, you will get a 10% discount at a lot of food outlets -- more of a discount at some -- but the DDE is a much better deal.

For AP holders, the DDE costs $50 per year (actually about 13 months) and it gives you a 20% discount at most places -- for up to 10 people at a meal, and including alcoholic beverages, which no other plan discounts. In 10 days, even with modest eating habits, I'm sure you'll save a lot more than the $50 cost.

thanks....if I buy a Annul pass...is it better to go to the DVC site and get it ahead of time...or just get it down at disney....thanks so much for all the help.... :wave2: amy

That is totally up to you, but if you buy it in advance, you can order the DDE card in advance as well. If you buy your AP on site and want the DDE card, you can order it M-F regular business hours and have to go to EPCOT Guest Relations to pick it up.

That is the only significant difference I know of. (the AP expires 1 year from when you activate it. The DDE card will expire basically 13 months from when you ORDER it...so you need to be careful if you are trying to get those dates to match up).

If you buy it with the DVC discount, I don't think it makes any difference in price. (check that to be sure).

However, I'd order it early anyway. The clock doesn't start ticking on the annual pass until you actually activate it (which you HAVE to do at Disney), so there's no penalty for getting that detail out of the way early.

If you order the AP early, you'll get a voucher and you can use the numbers on the voucher to order the DDE if you want one.

To receive the actual DDE card takes 3-5 weeks I think, but if you wait until you get to WDW to order it, they will fax a temporary letter. I'm not sure of the details of this, but I believe they will only fax that letter to one of their own ticket offices - I know they no longer email or fax the letters to customers.

If you think you might squeeze another trip in around Nov-Dec 06, you may want to wait until the last minute for the DDE card because you might be able to use it on three trips. That's what we're doing. We're going in December, May 06, and probably again in December 06 - so we'll order it at the last minute and use it for all three trips. Then on our next summer trip, we'll get another one (if it's still around) and use that for three trips.
