Confirmed: “Paint the Night” Scheduled to close Sept 5th

We don't get to go until
November. This makes me so very, very sad. :-(

Is there any chance they could get this parade to WDW in time for the 45th anniversary 10/1? I know there was a rumor a while back about it heading to WDW but I don't know that it was credible at all.

I'm still waffling back and forth between DLR and WDW.

Well, I am extremely disappointed. I saw this parade last year and it was amazing. I booked another trip just to see it again (so my grandparents could see it to!!!) and now it will be gone.

Another thing that confuses me about the announcement is that WOC and Fantasy in the sky will be back till November??

November should be when WOC and fireworks change to their holiday versions.

Oh! That means I can see their normal version in October, right?

Thank you for answering so fast!

My understanding is that the original WOC will show, and that "Fantasy in the Sky" will show on non Halloween party weekend nights.

There's no way they're not bringing it back, or not sending it to WDW. I think both. It makes sense that it would go to WDW for the 45th and then come back to DL at some point.

I'm so glad we got to see it. We lucked out with the best view ever and didn't even have to stake out a spot way in advance. I recently created a 2-page scrapbook layout about it:

Well, I guess I'll get to see those for the first time.

Still... Would have been nice to see PTN one more time. I do hope it goes to WDW. I'm more of a WDW veteran, so I'll love to see it there. Maybe take my grandparents to see it there.

Very nice! Can I assume you are a digital scrapper? I might try to translate something like that to paper (my preferred medium).

It's actually just going to tick me off more if PTN comes back seasonally after we are gone.

Thanks! And yes, I am a digital scrapbooker. I create the pages in Photoshop Elements then create an album via hard bound photo book (like Shutterfly). I love it. :)

Do you have any tips on digiscrapping? I have lightroom and recently realized that Lightroom can do the digital scrapbooking too, so I'm very interested in that!

Disappointed. I am going in November and was hoping to see it. I was in DL in January, and now I am mad that I didn't get myself over to see it. So I will not see it unless it resurfaces at some point at WDW or DL.

Very sad news. Seems like you get less for what you pay --- the Disney way! o_O
Well, for the people who camped out for hours to get a curbside seat, they now get all that time in the parks back for other things. And everyone else gets the ability to walk on Main St after the afternoon parade ends.

Came across a petition on Twitter, here's a link for anyone looking to sign something to express their frustration.

They're not usually my thing but sometimes it makes me feel a bit better. (Not that anybody picked up that tv show of the last petition I signed but still there can be something therapeutic about signing these things...)

Now I'm wondering if I'll need to plan more time to try and find a good spot when I go? I'll be going on a solo trip on week days at the end of this month. I was planning on PtN Tuesday and Thursday, and WOC on Wednesday. I was going to plan on later showings of PtN, after the fireworks. Hoping for a FP for WOC? Now I'm worried that if I don't become one of those curb campers it'll be so crowded because everyone will be trying to see it before it ends.

I'm so sad PTN is leaving. Even more upset that I spent $40 buying those paint brushes that light up with the parade and now they will be useless... I'm a sucker for those gimmicks!

I have to say I'm happy that WOC-Celebrate is ending. I didn't care for that one. I'm looking forward to seeing the original!

The paint brushes should still control the ears and work with WOC and F! when it comes back. If they do the Christmas fireworks this year they should work with those and also at Flo's.
