I agree with Pat...great shot. You have a Poncahontas thing going. :)

Great updates! Aulani and the Marriott both look great. Good luck on the PHM! It will be here before you know it.

Oh man!! Less than a week!

What a great little mini-TR of your Hawaii trip. I can't believe you still managed to run a) while in HAWAII! and b) while on a work trip! I'm in awe of your dedication.

Yay for scoring your February ADRs - even if you did have to do them at 1am.

Your plans sound fantastic! I am sure you will be more than fine with your performance. I also felt the same about Everest, that "fun" race or not it was really important to me to have the best time I could possibly have. I'll be thinking of you this weekend!

I know, I am sure I sound like the teacher in Charlie Brown. Sorry about that!
:goodvibes No problem! It's just that I feel like I haven't commented much on this PTR!

Interesting bit of news about the Marriott! There's a new Four Seasons right next door to WDW, and now this? Coincidence? Hmmmm.

Your resort pictures were lovely!

Less than a week! :cool1:

I didn't even think about the time change there. What time were we texting, 3 am? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

How much was the beer?

The views are stunning! :cloud:

Glad you got your ADRs. :thumbsup2

The CASTLE is coming!!!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust:

You stole a coffee refill from Aulani? :rotfl:

Wow! It's really coming up quickly! Im sure you'll do great!

I love the garden grill! It's always a tough choice for me between the chicken.skewer, beef keft and the gyros.

WOW....mega updates my friend.

I can't believe your trip with Ann is so close! I can't wait to hear all about it.

I'm glad you got your dining reservations.

All of your pictures of your food, drinks, coffee on the lanai, the beach, the pool, etc., are great! You are really making me want to go back to Hawaii.

I like the mug a lot. It is a perfect size. Question is, can it go in the dishwasher? CM said no but there actually was not a sticker or printing on the bottom saying not to.

Overall though I though the merchandise was not as good as my last visit there. They have literally given up 1/3 or more of the store to Duffy and Shelby(?). Ridiculous. And the higher end store no longer has any of the member items that it used to, they are all in the main store. Which I guess, for my wallet was not a bad thing.

I ate well. I like food. LOL!

DAYS

GAH!

Love this shot- Beautiful :goodvibes

total accident, I had turned around trying to do the selfie thing which I am not good at, and happened to look down, the colors were so much better I just took it.

Love the recap and the plans and you ARE READY!!!!! You will rock this and no matter what or how you feel......

YOU ARE RUNNING THROUGH THE CASTLE!!!

Very excited to run through the castle! It looks to be quite warm but given that last nights run was in 82 degrees (BLEH) it will be better than that. LOL.

I also love the fact you walked over to Aulani and yes I love that mug. The grand Californian had a great mug. :goodvibes It is big enough and the handle is great.

It has that "feels just right" think going on. I like it a lot.

Love this shot- Beautiful :goodvibes

Don't tell Evan, that is his least favorite princess. By A LOT. LOL!

Great updates! Aulani and the Marriott both look great. Good luck on the PHM! It will be here before you know it.

They are both lovely, very different though. It is DAYS now!

Oh man!! Less than a week!

Mnn. Not sure it is dedication or fear of total failure if I rest too much. I still did a lot less than I really should have. I try to get a work out or 2 in on work trips, and since I started running, it has been running.

I hope to do so on the next couple of ones as well but am going to have to see how it works schedule wise. It really does help make a work trip feel like less work, even if that is the only "outing" I really get. 6am though, if I wasn't in Hawaii and enjoying the benefits of the time change, it wouldn't have happened. I am not an early morning runner at all. I need to be up for at least an hour and a cup of coffee first!

Yay for scoring your February ADRs - even if you did have to do them at 1am.

I am glad they weren't an issue! The post race breakfast was the main one I was concerned with and rightly so. My other option was 9:45 and that seemed pushing it. Later than 10:30 and we might all die of starvation!

Your plans sound fantastic! I am sure you will be more than fine with your performance. I also felt the same about Everest, that "fun" race or not it was really important to me to have the best time I could possibly have. I'll be thinking of you this weekend!

I hope so. It is so hard to tell with as warm as it has been, it really does impact things. The forecast ticked up a little today which is a bummer but that still could change. I'd be much happier if we started out in the middle 60's than the upper but it will be what it will be.

:goodvibes No problem! It's just that I feel like I haven't commented much on this PTR!

No worries!

Interesting bit of news about the Marriott! There's a new Four Seasons right next door to WDW, and now this? Coincidence? Hmmmm.

I don't think so. Other than mutual benefits to both. The ground lease Marriott had expired and I am guessing that 4S outbid them, or they decided to walk away. Not sure on that part.

Your resort pictures were lovely!

Thanks!

Wow. You've had a lot going on!! The trip to Hawaii looks rather enjoyable... at least as far as work trips go. I'm glad that this trip to Hawaii at least allowed you some time to run and relax and enjoy the scenery a bit. And getting to easily slip over to Aulani for some meals and the scenery is a very nice bonus.

I kind of got a chuckle about the work you were doing on the band things though. You flew all the way to Hawaii and hauled them out there in your luggage to work on them in the hotel room. I know you gotta do what you gotta do, but I found it kind of funny. :lmao:

I hope everything goes well this weekend! :thumbsup2

You had a very hectic Hawaii trip! However not the worst location for a business trip!

Good job on getting your runs in! The time change definitely helps with the early morning runs. I should have packed running clothes for this weekend since I know I will be up at the crack of dawn! Looking forward to seeing/meeting you tomorrow!

Less than a week! :cool1:

4 days

GAH!

I didn't even think about the time change there. What time were we texting, 3 am? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nah, it was 1pm I think Hawaii time

How much was the beer?

$19 for a 22 oz beer

The views are stunning! :cloud:

I can never get enough

Glad you got your ADRs. :thumbsup2

Me too! There is one night we have not booked but we are kind of waiting on that one.

The CASTLE is coming!!!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust:

Whether I am ready or not!

You stole a coffee refill from Aulani? :rotfl:

Stole? Oh that's a bit harsh. I figure I am recouping on my investment. I think twice with coffee and once with soda on on our last trip where I purchased the mug.

I'm still WAY short on breaking even on that thing. LOL!

Wow! It's really coming up quickly! Im sure you'll do great!

I will be glad when it is over to be honest. Had my first semi freak out sleep over it last night. And slept wrong as a result and have a kink in my back

I love the garden grill! It's always a tough choice for me between the chicken.skewer, beef keft and the gyros.

I have not been, Ann gets all the credit on that one for exactly that reason, the skewers! I tried to get the gang to go in April and no one was interested.

WOW....mega updates my friend.

Yeah, I got a little carried away. HOPING to get an update up today on the other TR!

I can't believe your trip with Ann is so close! I can't wait to hear all about it.

24 hours from now we will be on the plane!

I'm glad you got your dining reservations.

Me too!

All of your pictures of your food, drinks, coffee on the lanai, the beach, the pool, etc., are great! You are really making me want to go back to Hawaii.

Oh you should, it is magical. Even when you have to stand at a hole on a golf tournament for 7 hours, and it is so windy your tent blows over, and you melt setting up your "booth" and because you have no tent you are in full sun for 7 hours.

Yep, glamorous work. Still, this trip had much more magic as I was able to be away from Waikiki. It is unlikely that will happen again.

I'm glad that this trip to Hawaii at least allowed you some time to run and relax and enjoy the scenery a bit. Well, taking the extra day gave me the time. There was not much before that.

I kind of got a chuckle about the work you were doing on the band things though. You flew all the way to Hawaii and hauled them out there in your luggage to work on them in the hotel room. I know you gotta do what you gotta do, but I found it kind of funny. :lmao:

Yes, funny is perhaps not the word I would have used.

:lmao:

Evan gave me a very hard time that he had finished his summer homework and I had not. I literally sewed for an hour Monday night, and hour and a half Tuesday morning and another hour and a half Tuesday afternoon to get them done.

But they are done.

THANK GOD!

I hope everything goes well this weekend! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I've been reading all of your updates! Heat training in Hawaii sounds pretty nice! Good luck this weekend! I hope your trip runs smoothly!!!

A big dose of pixiedust:

Have a great run and a wonderful trip!!!!!!!

How cool that your work trip brought you right next to Aulani! That's pretty darn cool and the view pictures are to die for.

Good luck traveling tomorrow and good luck with the race on Sunday. I know you both will do great. Just make sure you post that picture of the you with the medal ASAP! :cool1:

I forgot to add that I am sorry about your bracelets. That totally stinks. I had that happen to a friend who packed a brand new shirt, with the tags on, and it was stolen out of her suitcase at the local airport here in Wilmington. That is so NOT cool. Those Alex&Ani bracelets are so cute and they aren't cheap - especially the Disney ones. I know you really liked them and wore them a lot.

I have been looking for a running one, but no luck. I did find a biking charm bracelet, so I had to get it. :goodvibes

Totally STINKS!!!!!!!

I totally forgot that you didn't bike because of your neck. I sometimes wonder if that's how I messed up my neck - all the biking I did years ago. My neck totally feels crappy after a bike ride. It lasts about a day, sometimes two. I think its wonderful that you have embraced running. I have always felt like there are people out there who are runners, but they don't know it yet. Seriously, I know that sounds weird. But you never know what you can do until you try. I love seeing people discover a sport that they once never gave a second thought. It's kind of cool. :thumbsup2 I'm sure you and Ann are going to have a wonderful time on this adventure. Oh wait - I almost forgot - what's this about only doing on TR at a time???? :rotfl:

I know I am late in the game here, but I loved what you said here. I was definitely a runner who didn't know it. No one is more shocked than I am!

WOW! Mega update.

Love the pictures of sunset and you. Both were gorgeous!

Have fun! Not long to go.

I love Monkeypod.

Me too! :goodvibes

I have thought of you twice now this trip. Once at lunch yesterday and then today. When I took a VERY BAD wrong turn. Or really, when the GPS didn't match what the signs said.

I love being associated with Monkeypod! Not so much with getting lost. :rotfl2::rotfl:

And I took a peek at the new infinity pool

Wish that had been open when I was there...

Coffee on the lanai!

Cool mug! I like that one a lot.

One of my favorite burger/sandwich shops in the world happened to have a location near the office.

Grilled Mahi Mahi with Grilled Peppers and Pineapple (sorry Mark but hey, I am consistent!)

I've got burgers, you've got Mahi Mahi. We all have our thing.

And do some white knuckle driving.

Others (Mark, my DH Jeff, other crazy people) would have loved it. I would have been fine, as a passenger.

:woohoo::cool1:

Kalua pig omelette with tomatoes and spinach, kona press pot of coffee and a Hawaiian bakery basket. I figured I'd eat half the pastries and take the rest to eat in my room the next day.

Breakfast was incredible!

Wow, that sounds really good! Except for the spinach. :crazy2:

I hit up Monkeypod for their happy hour, enjoyed some live music and half price appetizers for dinner.

Love their happy hour!

And, on a small path at the edge of the resort that leads to the public beach ( a very narrow rocky stretch) I found it.

I'm glad you finally saw the sunset there! Looks beautiful over the water.

Yeah yeah, I know. I wasn't staying there. The mug wasn't from this trip. But, it was still a current design and honestly after the amount of cash I dropped on 2 meals, a mug and the spa, I didn't feel bad about one cup of coffee! Plus I own there! I enjoyed it by the adult pool, which had not been open while we were there last year.

With the amount they charge for the mug, you should get free drinks for life!

I checked out the infinity hot tub which was now being restricted to adult only.

Now that I hadn't heard.

Which was a bummer. I love Kona Brewing and had been looking forward to it, had planned for it. Not only did they not have the beer I wanted on tap, the sandwich was pretty meh.

That stinks. Hopefully it was just an off day for them.

Bigger bummer? I am pretty sure TSA stole my bracelets. I have 4 bracelets I wear almost all the time. 3 are Alex and Ani ones (one is MK at WDW) and one is a fake similar version.

That stinks! My wife is a big fan of those bracelets too.

Bring it on!

Good luck! Have fun storming the castle!
