Condom in bed..

The campgrounds with the hurricane was due to a legitimate weather threat. That is standard procedure at the campgrounds. They basically dump all the camp grounds reservarions into any open hotel room. So some get value mosy get deluxe at CBR or CSR and a lucky few even get deluxe. It is about getting people to leave the camp ground. OP got moved to a moderate so 1 jump and 50% off the night. I would say perhaps 1 night free and of course not having to pay the difference between resort levels plus some goodies from the kiddos would be going above and beyond but what they got seems adequate.

I'm not really saying what they got was inadequate. I'm just saying how I would feel in that situation.

That is a very unfortunate start to your trip. The dirty bathroom is gross, but I would have been content with someone coming up to thoroughly clean it asap. However, the condom in the bed would have truly stretched my ability to calmly address the situation, so I very much understand your dissatisfaction. Thankfully, your requests were granted and you now have a resort upgrade (hopefully at the same price you were already paying), so that's a big plus. However, I would still email guest relations and give them a complete, accurate rundown of what happened, including what POP's manager did to remedy the situation. Sometimes it helps just to feel like your voice is being heard, and guest relations will definitely get back in touch with you to acknowledge the issue. Also, it's a good idea to let someone outside of POP know about this so the matter can be universally addressed with all of its managers and housekeeping staff. Guest relations would be the appropriate place for doing exactly this since the messages are distributed to the teams responsible for whatever the complaint/praise is about. If it were me, I would be content with phrasing my message as "I have already received compensation for my troubles and in no way am asking for anything more, but this situation was disturbing enough to warrant documentation with your department (guest relations) . . . " I would send it off not expecting any other compensation but at least knowing my voice was heard and the matter would be looked into and hopefully steps would be taken to prevent this from happening to someone else.

I hope you enjoy your new resort and the rest of your trip is trouble free.

P.S. Here's the email address for guest relations: WDW.Guest.Communications@disneyworld.com . We use that address often during our trips since we make it a quest to collect names of cast members doing great jobs. I want them to know their efforts were noticed and appreciated.
THIS!!!!!! This is exactly how I feel. I am blown away that I was in the bed with someone else's condom at DISNEY. I just feel like this is a BIG deal and should NEVER had happened. It's not that I WANT anything it's that when I come to Disney I exspect certain things and this blew my mind.

I was sympathetic until the complaints started about #1 the rain #2 the taxi ride (because they can't do a warp jump to other resorts a la Star Trek) #3 the location of the room at the new, upgraded for no additional fee resort.

The first room was in no way acceptable. The rest is nonsense. If the family is that tired, move rooms, not resorts. And if you decide to move, try and be happy, stop complaining.
Tuck your kids into bed with someone else's condom and tell me you wouldn't be pissed off. My baby could have put that in her mouth.

This happened to my family once as a kid only the used condom was on the floor.

If this happened to me I would be absolutely IRATE and probably unable to calm down unless it was taken as seriously by management as it actually is. Bodily fluids are not a freaking joke. I'm mad for you.

I used to be a Housekeeper at a Sheraton. We had a direct supervisor, and a Housekeeping manager who checked every room possible before letting it back in circulation. It was a good system and very hard to keep up with the level of consistency and quality expected. The ladies there were beyond competent and had a rhythm and rhyme to their day. Good management and communication kept that place humming. Seems like that's what Disney lacks.

Nope.

"I posted this on my Fb and I was told to go here and see if you guys had any advice on how to proceed/contact.."

And then the things she complains about at the very end are nonproblems. She could have packed up the luggage if she didn't want to wait for it. Port Orleans is a huge property- taxi transport was necessary and you aren't gauranteed a convenient room at any resort:sad2:

I'm sympathetic because I think it was an awful room experience. But Disney went above and beyond imo
I paid for a preferred room because being that convience was important to me so moving to Port Orleans and having to walk so far to the lobby is a terrible inconvenience. I paid a great deal of money for this vacation and no I do not think they went above and beyond. I will still enjoy my vacation with my children BUT I do think that SOMEONE needs to look into housekeeping/management at Pop.

Right. That's why I'm not really understanding the outcry for more compensation. Unless you're paying extra for Orleans, which I doubt, you've already received really good compensation. It's like going from Laquinta to Marriott which would not happen in the "real world".
I'm not asking 'who to contact to get more compensation'. I'm asking who to contact to make sure this never happens again.

So you didn't ask to be moved to a different preferred room at pop? That's the first thing that I would have asked if I was being moved. I'm not sure any hotel completely guarantees room type, though, and technically, they still gave you an upgrade. I get that it would be inconvenient, but if something had broke in your original room, and they didn't have another preferred room to give you, the same thing would have happened.

Although I honestly don't think PO is more inconvenient in general than Pop, if you're specifically complaining about the resort rather than the room...

So just to be clear.. I am angry about our whole first night. I was more angry when I first wrote this. A little time has passed and things like not getting my luggage isn't that big of a deal anymore BUT the condom in the bed situation still pisses me off. I just think a higher up personnel needs to be aware that a condom in the bed at a resort even if it is 'value' is not okay.

Guest services. Hopefully you documented it and got the manager/staff names. The more details, the better.

Why would I want to stay in a resort that allowed a condom to be left in a bed? You couldn't PAY me to ever step foot on Pop property again.

Can you really compare something being broken to a CONDOM being in the bed with my children?

Well, by that logic, you'd never step anywhere on Disney property again. Or really any hotel. It's incredibly gross but sloppy housekeeping can happen anywhere.

And I was specifically addressing your complaint that you were sent to an inconvenient room at PO. Not the condom thing. That is not something that should happen anywhere.

Not sure if it was given but definitely email here wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com they will most likely call you to talk about everything and then will pass it on to anyone who needs to be involved in the incident. They are pretty receptive and I've had my only 2 issues dealt with quickly and professionally. Neither were about compensation but were just like yours where we wanted to get it to someone besides who we dealt with.

You guys are terrible. ‍♀️

Youre questioning why I would need to be moved and acting as if I should be happy that this happened because being moved to Port Orleans is such a good thing.

No. I could care less about any extra amenities in the resort. All I wanted was a CLEAN place to lay our heads at night that was convient to the bus stop and lobby. We stay in the parks from open to close so nothing fancy needed here. We have a pool and never use the resorts anyways.

I actually really hate this property. I would have never chosen to stay here.

Thank you to everyone who had a helpful tip on whom to contact to relay my complaint. I hope this never happens to anyone else!

So go to the PO front desk and explain you booked a preferred category originally and would like to be moved closer to the lobby/bus stop, OR that you would like to be moved back to a value resort, in a preferred location, but not at the Pop.

I have three children and 10 suitcases. I am not moving anywhere. I am not asking for anyone to 'fix' my vacation. I am here. We will still have a great time. No, this room is not of my choosing but it is what it is.

Moral of my long pissed 1am rant was: I am pissed a condom was in the bed with my child which is very serious and want Pop held responsible. They made us have a very terrible first day at Disney and that should have never happened. I just wanted to find a contact for someone to let them know my grievances so that it wouldn't happen again.

Goodness gracious some of you are so quick to dismiss and try to invalidate another person's feelings. This is an awful experience, I can't even imagine how I'd feel or react if I found a condom in a hotel room bed. if moving to another resort is what she needed to feel better then who are you to judge or question that?! And as for the preferred room, I imagine she wanted to be close to bus stop/food court so being far away at Port Orleans could be a big inconvenience, how is that so hard to comprehend?

OP, I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope you found some help in this thread to make sure this never happens! Hope you can enjoy the rest of your vacation!

First, I'm so sorry for what you're dealing with. It's not acceptable.

Second, prepare mentally for the fact that some people on here will find a way to make this your fault or tell you that you handled it wrong. Just ignore that.

They need to refund you for night 1, IMO. 100%. If you're unhappy with the room they've given you at POR, tell them. Tell them exactly what it will take to let you relax and enjoy your vacation at this point. DO NOT push the front desk button on the phone and try to talk to one of those people. That's a call center off site. Do go to the front desk and ask for a manager.

I hope they do their best to make it right.
I fully agree!!!

If people don't give feedback things will not change. What happened is not acceptable at any hotel especially at a Disney resort.
