We've stayed there a few times and really enjoyed it. Due to the special perks like the safari's it's probably the only CL we'd spend the money on in the future. We found the CM's to be very pleasant, and a few really stand out as making our trips there special.

I booked this, solo, in 2005. It was OK, but I don't think I would do it again. My room was great, and I had a wonderful view of the animals. BUT, it took forever and a day to walk to the lobby. I also waited more than an hour for the first bus to MK in the morning, and was late to my ADR at Kona's. It didn't matter, but this was before DDP. I didn't appreciate the concierge lounge. I wasn't really at the hotel when the offerings were put out. Plus, the music played at AKL is too frenetic for me. Lots of petty complaints, I know. It was my first, and probably last experience with concierge.

Oh, I did take the special sunrise safari tour, and IT WAS WONDERFUL. I don't know if this is offered only to concierge guests still, or if they have opend it up to everyone.

We will be there soon. The staff has been wonderful. They have seen to ADRs. We have arranged both the sunrise and wanyama safaris. They have even taken special note of DHs tree nut allergy. We have been thrilled thus far and cannot wait to get there! :cool1:

We had a wonderful stay at AKL CL and the sunrise safari is not to be missed. It was a wonderful perk to staying CL. We just got back from WL CL and I dont think it can compare to AKL. The CM's at AKL were much more in tune to their guests and went above and beyond. We are going back there next time.

We did the Sunrise Safari which was awesome. The CM's in the Lounge were awesome. My son loved hanging out, eating cookies, and watching TV each night before bed. I would stay again for sure.

We've done the concerge level twice before and I don't think we will do it agaiin soon. We did enjoy it for breakfast, my daughter is older now and we do not do the character breakfasts....but we always leave the hotel in the am and do not return until very late...by then it's always closed!! I guess it depends on the type of traveler you are, if you can go back for lunch or snacks or drinks at night to get your money's worth.

;)

When we went my son was almost four, and my wife was pregnant so we were not doing many commando park days. If I had older kids I could see maybe on night to take advantage of the Sunrise Safari day. Furthermore, I see us using CL more after the kids are on thier own and we can enjoy the resort, and area at a slower pace.

I am booking a trip to VAK concierge, and I will be spending my 50th birthday at AKL concierge next year. Hooray!

Is the lounge still in its temporary location out in the wings in what used to be the Vice Presidential Suite or have they moved it back to the 6th floor yet?? Anyone know?

The lounge is back on the 6th floor.

do you still have to stay CL to book sunrise safari? how much is SS now?

Just got back yesterday. The sunrise safari is great, but other than that CL is nothing special. Found the lounge staff to be not terribly friendly, and it was not because the lounge was busy, many times we were the only people there and sometimes they would not even say hello. Also our room was miles away from the lounge, and we did not get bathrobes or any special ammenities, in fact the saop and shampoo never got replaced, so I am wondering if we just got a regular room with access to the lounge. The Lodge is a beautiful property, but I don't think I would stay CL again.

As far as I know, they haven't changed the rules and you still need to be staying CL to take the Sunrise Safari.

No idea on the cost these days. Sorry.

Is there bottled water in the concierge lounge for guests to take to the parks?

Thanks!
