Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

During my two Club Level stays there I always saw kids in the lounge and it was child friendly.

That's great to hear! I've read so many positive reviews about BWI CL generally, so I was hoping that was the case - but it's always better to hear about first-hand experience. Thanks CR Fan!

Hi everyone,

We returned a couple of weeks ago from 9 days at the Beach Club - Stone Harbor Club.

As most of you know, the lounge is smaller than most. It was nice, and we loved the evening offerings from the Captian's Grille.

The staff - especially Basilla, was wonderful.

One thing was missing - smiles on the faces of the guests in the lounge. It made me want to always smile and say hi to everyone even more. Everyone seemed to be "checking everyone out."

A woman even looked at a toddler milling about the room with disgust. It was almost comical that the woman thought there shouldn't be children in the lounge.

I did not experience this at the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. Was it the heat?

We had a great trip overall. I do prefer the King Kamehameha Old Faithful Clubs, but I love the Beach Club for it's proximity to Epcot and Stormalong Bay.

The pool parties and lifeguards were fabulous!

:rotfl: We had the same experience with other guests at the BC CL lounge. The first time we went to the lounge, the "checking out" made me feel like I must have toilet paper stuck to my shoe, but after a couple days of the same sort of reaction, it became apparent that many of the guests weren't feeling the Happiest Place on Earth vibe, or at least not in the lounge. The staff was awesome, though. We had some great chats with several of the CMs.

In all our stays at BC CL or YC CL we only had an encounter with one rude guest.

Everyone else was pretty friendly and it is DEFINITELY child friendly!

I thought one rude guests in all that time wasn't too bad considering how many rude encounters we've had with other guests in the parks!

You're welcome and if you need any more information about the BWI CL I am always happy to help.

All those wonderful pictures from Circusgirl are wonderful. We have reservations for Jan at AKL for CL and I was wondering if anyone had recent pictures of there showing all the offerings like Circusgirl did?

Thanks again Circusgirl!!

Thanks for posting your reivew and it's great you enjoyed their Club Level Cast Members. I say that because next month I am having my first Club Level stay at the Beach Club, so the more positive reviews the better.

As for the guests "checking everyone out" I am not sure why they would need to or maybe they like to see how much food people take. If that was so I think it's none of their business. Finally I laugh at the comment you made about the woman who looked disgusted seeing a todler in the lounge. It's Walt Disney World and they are all around, even in the Club Level lounges.

I still can't get that woman's face out of my head!:rotfl:
Glad I gave you a good laugh. You'll have a great time - we really enjoyed talking with the CM's - they were tops!

I just have one question for you. I am assuming then you arrived there was a Cast Member who meet you and escorted you up to the lounge so you could check-in up there?

On each of our 3 CL stays, we have been met in the lobby and escorted up to to check in. It is so nice to sit down while checking in. Such a civilized process! If the CL person was not right there, they appeared in a moment, or we informed the bell person that we were checking in for CL and they called up.

My children (12, 10 & 8) all LOVE the BWI CMs!

:goodvibes When we were at the CR CL, there as a family that looked down their noses at everyone! They must have had chiropractic sessions scheduled when they returned home for their necks. I have and had never experienced this behavior before on a concierge floor at any hotel. It was as though they had watched a movie on what snobbery was and then studied it-they were quite good and if they were graded on the performance, I would have given them an A- just to tick them off because they really deserved an A+.

I am not sure if I would say these type of people look down on other guests, but a few years ago when we stayed Club Level at the Contemporary these two Women kept asking one the Cast Members when are they putting out more fresh fruit? Well from what I remember they still had a good amount already out, although I guess it wasn't up to their standards. Anway they kept asking the same Cast Member every two minutes when will there more fresh fruit and didn't stop until she finally brought some out.

Insults come so easily to some people!

I paid my balance recently and am in the home stretch. :cool1::cool1: I understand that Disney will mail out info soon that includes luggage tags etc. We are staying CL at the Poly. Will Poly IPO mail anything as well such as itinerary or anything else such as CL info?

Also since I am super new to CL stays what do we do when we arrive at poly. Does the security guard in the parking lot know we are CL by looking at our reservation therefore will direct us where to go? Do we bypass the GCH and walk straight to Hawaii? Is valet complimentary for CL guests?

It sounds like you will be driving. When you pull up to the front area you will see a separate desk on the left for CL. Check in there first, and they will alert the CM in the Hawaii building that you have arrived. They will also be able to tell you if your room is ready. If it is you will driven over to the Hawaii building with your luggage to do the formal check-in. If your room isn't ready bell services will store your bags, and you will be given the option of golf cart tour to the Hawaii building or walking through GCH on your own to the Hawaii building. Once you've checked in at the desk outside the CM in the Hawaii building will be expecting you :) Enjoy!

Yes we are renting a car for our stay so we will be driving to the poly. When you say separate desk on the left, it that after the security guard in the lot? I'm guessing a desk as you enter the GCH?
