Thank you!
Yes we are renting a car for our stay so we will be driving to the poly. When you say separate desk on the left, it that after the security guard in the lot? I'm guessing a desk as you enter the GCH?

As you enter the parking lot there will be the initial security guard. Once past that you pull up to the port a cochere if you are using the valet parking services. As you look to the left you will see a desk with a sign for CL ( it might say Hawaii, I can't remember exactly ). You can't miss it :). Check in first with them -it is on the left hand side as you face the GCH. If this is your first time in the Hawaii building you are in for a treat:goodvibes

I just have one question for you. I am assuming then you arrived there was a Cast Member who meet you and escorted you up to the lounge so you could check-in up there?

Hi CR Fan! Just wanted to add that our experience with BC CL check-in this February was fantastic.

CL CM Bret met us immediately when we arrived via Magical Express - before we even reached the lobby! He spent a more-than-average amount of time with us as we met our "welcoming party" of my parents and Teena in the lobby! Before we even headed up to the club lounge, he was telling us about our options - a room ready immediately or a room ready in a couple hours with a full balcony. Turns out that Bret (like my dad and husband) is a Packer fan. We arrived the day after the Packers superbowl win, and Bret was not only excited about the win, but had all the correct info regarding the MK parade (which had been hard for us to confirm that morning on our own.) He was so helpful and engaging that I wrote to guest relations about his excellent service (along with other outstanding BC CMs.) By the time we were all checked in and ready to go, we wanted to bring Bret to MK with us!

The Christmas tree and decorations in the Poly lounge.

Love the Christmas pics.....the lounge looks beautiful all decorated :santa:. We are staying Poly CL in December and I can't wait :goodvibes.

So I switched resorts.....again. Since the GF already has info, and it's the same ressie number.....should I contact them again???? I'm sure they think I'm nuts:lmao:

MEF01. . .Do we bypass the GCH and walk straight to Hawaii? Is valet complimentary for CL guests?

And just to answer the last of your question, valet parking is not complimentary for CL guests. You are more than welcome to unload and self park. :)

...If your room isn't ready bell services will store your bags, and you will be given the option of golf cart tour to the Hawaii building or walking through GCH on your own to the Hawaii building. Once you've checked in at the desk outside the CM in the Hawaii building will be expecting you :) Enjoy!
I'm sure there are opinions on both sides, but for you veterans, which option do you recommend? It seems like walking through the GCH would give us a great welcome experience, but maybe the golf cart tour would make us feel more special (VIP). What are your thoughts?

After being awake since 3 a.m. on the day of our arrival, we really appreciated the golf cart drive to Hawaii building. For us, we knew we would be experiencing GCH for the next 12 days so it wasn't a difficult choice for us to make! I have a picture of my sister and me as we entered the cart and our grins were huge. We really did feel special as we sped off.:cool1:

Cart only if our room is ready and the luggage is going along for the ride. Otherwise, we have done the cart ride so many times, we prefer to stroll over.

We'll miss you over here, but I posted "over there" that you should email the GF IPO anyway because that's what I do when I switch CLs:rolleyes1.

:idea:Why not ask them if your milk request is still noted as your excuse to contact them?

ETA: Seeing Tess' posts and all this talk of the Poly and carts, I thought I was posting this to the Poly thread:sad2:, thus my "We'll miss you over here" comment.

I liked the cart ride. You can always come back later to take a look around the GCH. It's just a short stroll.

Insults come so easily to some people!

Here's another funny story from Stone Harbor Club - There was a lady asking everyone, including me, if we found it cold in the lounge. Apparently she was cold. I really wasn't cold and said, "No I'm not cold, but I just came in from outside."

She said she was going to complain to a cm. I just said, "Well, everybody is a little different when it comes to temperature."

(This was June. I'm sure the last thing cm's would want is for it to be hot in the lounge).

Later, the lady actually came up to me when I was sitting with a cm at the desk and asked me if my room was ready because hers wasn't!

(BC had a computer crash and they weren't able to get people to their rooms as quickly as usual.)

The club cm told me he would take care of everything for me and he did. (The lady was annoyed and went down (against the advice of club cm) to the regular check in desk in the lobby!) The cm whispered to me - "that was a mistake - it's crazy down there.)

:rotfl:

When we were at CR Atrium Club in October we met nothing but really nice folks were there it seemed. I guess you just never know who you will end up with.:confused3

My fellow Concierge Connoisseurs,

Please help me decide - Poly or WL for December?:santa:

Thank you so much.

We have enjoyed both CL's. The staff at both have always been accommodating. I have nothing negative to say about WL CL, but personally, we prefer the POLY CL.

We enjoy the food/beverages at the POLY lounge a bit more, and the view of the castle cannot be beat. Also, from the pool the POLY CL lounge is a bit easier to get to if we want to run in and grab a cold drink or snack.

I need to ask the experts on here another CL question.
We are booked at the BC CL for Dec but I keep reading that the Poly CL is much better. We love the Poly but have never stayed at CL there. We stayed at the YC last trip and loved the location which is why we booked the BC.
However, since we are trying the club thing this trip, should we change to the Poly CL or will we be happy with the BC CL?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

David

Well I am going to say if you plan to spend more time at the Magic Kingdom go with the Polynesian. However if you plan to spend more time at Epcot and Hollywood Studios go with the Beach Club.

Now I have stayed Club Level at the Polynesian and thought it was very good, however as of right now on my favorite list it ranks behind the Contemporary and Boardwalk Inn.

I haven't stayed Club Level yet at the Beach Club, although at the end of next month that will change and I am looking forward to it.

We are staying CL for the second time but the first was in unique circumstances! We didn't like our resort and we moved to the YC and CL was all that was available. Other than the food we really didn't use any other services. This time we are booking CL and I'd like to make sure I'm not missing any services I should be taking advantage of!

I've emailed IPO our small room request (private balcony/quiet location)

We already have our dining reservations - is there anything else I am missing that they are helpful with? I wanted to order something special from in room dining however IPO directed me to the in room dining number which I'll take care of closer to our date.

Thanks for any suggestions :)

I have desperately been trying to get CL at the AKL during our Food and Wine trip but everything is booked right now with the military rate. The CM on the phone told me to keep trying as something may open up.

Yes it seems AKL club goes fast. I can't wait to try it sometime. Just keep checking. Contemporary Atrium club opened up one night at midnight! I just happened to be awake so I grabbed it!

What is check in procedure for Polynesian? After telling guard my name do we proceed to Hawaii building?
