saquin-love your list!:thumbsup2

Thanks CRFan & Tess, voices of reason.:laughing:

I woke up last night and for whatever reason, it popped in my mind that I should come and ask about the noise level from the lounge. :surfweb: Seriously, I need to stop it now before the men with the white coats come to cart me off -- got a whole 2 months + of waiting. :lmao:

*breathes deep* Oooooooooohm.
I was in the LV room on the 2nd floor right next to the lounge on my first Poly CL trip and never heard any noise from the lounge so I would think you would be OK.

SO...when the men in white coats come to take you away just be sure they take you to the Poly CL.

for those that have been to AKL club level, when booking I am given the choice of arushka savannah view or if I chose club it is a standard savannah view. I am at a loss of what to do. Is arushka a better view or is it worth it just to do the standard savannah view with the club level???
I thought CL rooms were arushka savannah view??? I really enjoyed AKL CL. I would book that over the arushka specific view.

WDWKOOK: These are older (Aug 2009) but might do for your daily fix of Poly LV CL photos.;)

You will have a fabulous stay! It is great to have a new experience at a favorite place.

I agree :goodvibes.

Since we leave two weeks from today (but we'll be at the Poly three weeks from tomorrow:)), I just finished our packing list. Woohoo - I LOVE lists!

I'll have to repay her the favor by posting my photos soon;)

Good luck with your list and packing.......getting that packing list started always make the trip seem closer for me ;). Can't wait to see all of your great pics :wizard:. Seeing everyone's pics and hearing about their trip is the next best thing to being there :).

Confession... I sometimes write things on the list that I've already done, just so I can cross if off. :p

I do that too .

Great pics........I just love the Poly :cloud9:.

All AKL club level rooms are Arusha Savanna view on the 4th Floor. Standard refers to the size of the room. So all Kilimanjaro Club Standard Rooms are standard size, club level rooms facing the Arusha Savanna. I hope this helps.

OK, I seriously thought I was the only one who did this and didn't even think I should admit to it again after I last told someone I did that and they looked at me like I was nuts. Well, I may be nuts, but I'm in great company here:worship:

I think we need an "OCD DIS Lovin' List Makin' Maniacs" group :rotfl:

I make lists of lists :sad2: I will only admit that on the DIS. The fist list will be general items and then the secondary list will have the specific items under that category. IE the first list will say clothes and then there will be a list of specific clothing items and everyone gets their own set of list. Excel is my best friend! :rotfl:
Can we add "resort changing" to that list?;).

I do the same thing :rolleyes1
YES! Another one! Absolute proof I'm not the only one:grouphug:

:rotfl:So that's where all the crazy people are - I'll fit right in.

lovesdumbo, I love your photos, too. Thanks! But, I am getting a little worried seeing all these gorgeous LV room views and we're booked GV. I guess I'll have to hang-out in the lounge a lot (with all the crazy people, of course;)).

Yes, I love the lists and living vicariously through others' trips. But after I make the list comes that in between time when the list just sits there next to my computer staring at me, waiting to have things crossed off. It helps me to write my "pre-departure list" (don't laugh), which I start 3 weeks prior. The first item on my "PDL" is "make packing list," I've crossed that off:thumbsup2

My obsessive compulsive nature has not changed in the intervening years. I was certifiable then and I'm certifiable now. :lmao:

I love, love, love this...:lovestruc

Now that we're admitting to being OC list makers, I think we need our own little DIS club;). But first I have to go make a list...

I think we need an "OCD DIS Lovin' List Makin' Maniacs" group :rotfl:

Yes, I think a group of OCD List Makers would be very appropriate! There might be a few arguments over who gets to keep the list of member names though. :lmao: At very minimum, maybe we need an OCD support thread for us to chat about our lists. ;)

*high-fives* Yes! Lists within lists! Yeah, my list is in Excel too (well, Open Office anyway). I've got a master list of things which includes a breakdown by kiddo, hubster and myself, then a list of what goes into the "park bag" and what comes on the carry-on and also a list of what to print out. All of which goes into a little binder. :rotfl: Writing it down makes it sound just that much more awful.

OMG! I am so with you on this! I went so far on the daily clothes planning for my last trip that I actually brought one of those hanging shelves with the days of the week and had my son's clothes organized for each day. That way if my husband or mother dressed him one day he would still be in the "correct" outfit. I am so not like this at home though.

Now that's an excellent idea. Hahahaha. :thumbsup2

Confession... I sometimes write things on the list that I've already done, just so I can cross if off. :p

ROFL! Guilty as charged. :guilty:

Wonder which of the CL rooms is padded; I should add it to my request. ;)

And, in the spirit of the thread, I do actually have a question...

My kiddo has crazy-long hair. I expect that CL is no different than a regular room in terms of the amount of shampoo left in one's room -- like 1 to 2 bottles? Is it a problem getting more shampoo from housekeeping ... like a lot more? I expect to be doing a lot of hair-washing from all the swimming that'll be going on.

saquin - You know what I noticed about the list that is so very OCD? Not only are all the column and row lines carefully drawn with some type of straight edge, your rows are drawn over the top of the existing lines printed on the paper. And your row lines are EXACTLY on top of the printed lines! :rotfl:

You're right. Why did I even bother drawing the horizontal lines? The paper was already lined! :confused3

What a freakin' nutty kid I was! (and still am! :rolleyes1 )

Our daughter always had long hair, more so when she was younger (waist length) than now (mid-back), but it is still long--check out sig pic. ;)

Write a note each day to your mousekeeper and request extra shampoo and conditioner. We usually write notes directly on our tip envelope. It won't be a problem. If you run out, simply call mousekeeping and they will have someone bring more to you.

Circusgirl: More gorgeous photos! Thank you! :worship: What camera are you using, if you don't mind me asking?

Yippee, my daily Poly photo fix! I was just showing your previous lounge photos (again:rolleyes1) to my DD12 who said they looked great! She thought the coconut head holding the stirrers was cute.

Everyday now I wonder to myself, "I sure hope Circusgirl finds a few more photos to post." I hope you don't run out until I leave two weeks from today:laughing:

Those photos are gorgeous and I think I forgot to ask what camera body/lens are you using?

First things first, it must always be said that it is the operator, not the camera, that determines the quality of the pictures. Getting to know your camera and shooting options is the most important thing. You can take killer pictures with a point and shoot and awful pictures with the finest SLR.

I am using a Nikon D700, usually with a 28-300 mm lens. I do LOVE this camera and am super happy with it. Before this I used a Nikon D70 (what would be equivalent to the current D90) and was also crazy for it. This lens is ginormous, but covers the range of everything that I want while touring at the World, without requiring lens changes and the carrying of extra lenses. I do bring a few other specific lenses along but mostly use the zoom. My point and shoot is a Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS7, which is also a terrific camera. The Panasonic has a Leica lens and really nice menu settings.

A few for today:

Great tip about the tips! Thanks Tess. :goodvibes

Simply gorgeous pics. You've really got the eye for composing interesting shots. Now, this leads me to another question! (Sorry, I've been contemplating a D-SLR for a couple of years now.) What sort of bag do you carry your camera goodies around in? And, an even more inane question, what do you do with your bags when you go on rides, etc?

I bought the smallest possible bag by Crumpler that would hold the camera body, big lens, 50 mm lens and flash, as I hate to lug a big bag around. I have a dedicated case for my big wide angle lens. I actually mostly just wear the camera on a Crumpler strap and leave the bag at the hotel. I take so many pictures that I would be taking the camera in and out of the case constantly. The bag protects the gear in my carry on, although I do carry it if the weather is iffy. I highly recommend the Crumpler straps. They are padded, comfy, and strong.

When I am riding (and I do ride the big coasters and water rides) I keep the camera around my neck on the strap and hold it in my hands. I don't hang on to lap bars much - just the camera! I do take pictures on rides as well, so it keeps the camera handy. On Splash Mountain I'll put the camera in a plastic bag in my regular messenger bag that I always carry. The one exception is Kali River Rapids. I'll put the camera in a locker if I have a yen to raft in Asia.

When I'm packing and I find I forgot to write something on the list, my DH always jokes with me and says "That wasn't on the list.....you have to write it on there and then cross it off".....he knows me all too well :lmao:. No laughing from me about the "PDL"......I find myself having to write notes to remember things and "start list for packing" is usually one of them . I would have to put myself on the "resort changers" list......for our December trip I have gone from WL CL to GF Sugarloaf to Poly GV to Poly GV CL......and after seeing all of these gorgeous LV pics, I have plenty of time to change my mind and switch to LV CL :rotfl: :rotfl:.

I just booked YC CL in a garden view category. Should this guarantee we'll have a private balcony? I know some rooms on the CL share. Thanks!

Poly, Poly, Poly! For our first Poly stay, and thanks to 2 OT shifts last week, I upgraded to CL :cool1: Soooooo...since I am one of "those resort changers" I have gotten to know GF, WL, and BWI IPOs. Luckily after introducing myself, and they share info too, don't they:rotfl:?-All my requests are in the Poly system. The only room request I made was "not the 1st floor" I'd rather deal without a balcony than worrying about my kiddos escaping off the patio. Glad to be back on the DIS after all that work:woohoo:

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo enjoying all the pics:thumbsup2

:yay::yay: So happy for you!

I booked a CL room for Labor Day weekend this week. Should I reach out to IPO or will they contact me? I don't need much - just want to arrange for a couple of things for my DH as a surprise and let them know my room requests. Thanks!

I would contact them. I believe that the first post has the email addresses of the various IPOs.

Have any of you done both the DxDP AND CL? Would love to hear about your experience!

You're welcome over on the Resort Changer's thread anytime! I wonder if the endings of our screenames has anyhing to do with our list OC:confused3
