Hi.
I have some questions about Sugar Loaf. We're staying there this summer. I have requested a lodge tower room or a dormer room. Are any of the lodge tower rooms dormers themselves? I know it's only a request as there are only 3 of those rooms...but I LOVE the vaulted ceilings of the dormers.
Thanks!

So, I'd like to send a gift basket to the AKL IPO staff...Should I send it to the resort address and mark it "IPO" or is there a different address I should be using? Thanks!

:dance3::dance3: Only 9 days until we arrive at the Yacht Club in CL! :dance3::dance3:

:grouphug: Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! :grouphug:

We are right behind you - 16 days until our trip - I've never stayed YC CL and to be honest, I'm getting a bit nervous because the posts have not really been positive about the CL serrvice.

I hope you have a great time and post a good review!

I don't have the answer, but I hope someone else here does...The AKL IPO staff has been wonderful and I also hope to send something to them to thank them for all their hard work!;)

:goodvibes You can count on a review and photos, unless my partner has a cow about taking the photos. :rolleyes1 After all of these years, she still doesn't quite "get" the DIS.

I don't expect much out of being in CL. Honestly, a few free beverages and a bagel in the morning and we will be happy enough. I used them to make some ADR's for us and they set us up with the AK Wildlife Discovery Excursion, but I have changed out so many of the ADR's and that was all done on my own, so it's not like they have had to work too hard for us. I realize that is their job, but the occasional smile and greeting in passing at the resort will be enough for us. We are just happy to be there. With the 40% off deal we are saving and getting a deluxe CL room for less than a stay at the Poly. I can't gripe.

Honestly, there is some family drama brewing that might mean that this trip to WDW is our last for several years. I will spare you all the details, it is worse than a Springer episode. :rolleyes1

So I just booked my trip and I decided to take a solo trip and splurge on myself and went Club Level at the Grand Floridian and I was lucky enough to get a view of Cinderella Castle from the main building. Marijane, from GF IPO, emailed me and said that it's a new category...is that true? I am so excited! She has been a complete dream too in helping me plan a solo trip and making me feel so comfortable about it. I already feels like she knows me and my preferences and I even put my birthday experience in her hands, I want someone else to plan a surprise for me. Maybe because its a solo trip but I feel that the club level is definitely worth it already and I haven't even had my reservations for a week yet! Anything else you all suggest for taking complete advantage of the CL perks? I have stayed CL at the GF before but in the Sugar Loaf building and it was always an upgrade when I arrived to the hotel so this is the first time I am able to use the concierge services. A boy could get used to this! :)

VinnyDisney -- I think you'll really like it there! We had a room at the GF overlooking the castle in August. The views of the castle changing colors all night and the fireworks were wonderful!:cloud9: The lounge is so relaxing, too, especially when the pianist or the band is playing music. There is a really nice ambiance there. The CMs were all very pleasant and helpful, too.

I agree that using the IPO office is something that you can get used to very quickly!:goodvibes

Does the club at WL have the nifty coffee/espresso machine similar to the one in the AKL club?

Any updates or pictures of food offerings?

Just back on Tuesday night from the WL Club Level. Had a great room location, #7127, right next to the huge suite, we were pretty much alon on that end, had an elevator right around the corner from our room that opened up by the doors to the pool and boat dock.

Yes, there is a crazy coffee contraption, I heard it making all types of strange noises when people used it, when I saw it was Nescafe' I just kept walking. They did have urns of real coffee as well.

BReakfast offerings were cereals, fresh fruits (watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew and pineapple) some days there were bananas and apples out at various times as well. cooler had apple juice juice boxes, cans of tomato juice and small cartons of milk, along with yogurt. Mini croissants, mini fruit pastries, mini bagels (cream cheese in the cooler), juices and milk along with coffee. Snack offerings were pretzels, gummi bears, mixed nuts and goldfish with coke, diet coke and sprite in the cooler. Never was around for the appetizers, they told me that it's uncrustables, veggies and dip, cheese & crackers. They said they had no way of knowing what the hot appetizer would be, sometimes buffalo patties, bacon wrapped scallops or venison meatballs. THe desserts were cobbler (berry two days peach one), cookies (sugar and choc chip), iced brownies, magic cookie bars, along with wine and cordials (never saw beer, I guess you have to ask for it) . DOors are locked with a padlock when the lounge is closed, so grab any drinks and snacks for late night ahead of time. Most days housekeeping was after 4PM, but turndown came sometime between 5 & 9.

What a wonderful thread!! I just booked YC CL for July with the 40% PIN. When should I email the IPO? Thanks for the info.

Send the IPO an email now! :thumbsup2 I suggest listing your confirmation # and dates in the title; then introduce yourself and your family and ask any questions you might have; let them know some of your wishes/requests. :) The IPO should have your "requests" list (ADRs, etc.) about 2 weeks prior to the 180-day mark. Make sure by then that they have acknowledged your requests and have your credit card # on file should you be booking something which requires a CC guarantee or prepayment (CRT, a cruise, etc.) :goodvibes On morning 180, they will work their magic for you and later that day or the next, should email you a detailed itinerary. :)

Congrats and remember, it's never too early to contact the IPO (as long as you have a confirmed reservation!) ;)

Thank you for the details! I am confused about the coffee contraption being nescafe? I suppose I will see for myself in 18 days! I haven't been able to obsess about this trip as much since I have been busy with Thanksgiving, trying to work a bunch (to pay for the trip!) and I am hiding it (very well) from the kids! My kids are going to be in absolute heaven when we get there!

AKL and CR have the same wonderful machine. GF has a different but great one, too. The ones at the BC, YC, and Poly were all Nescafe machines, and they tasted like it. Can't compare to the one at AKL, unfortunately. It sounds like the one at the WL is the Nescafe type...:sad2:

Hopefully they will upgrade them all soon.

:scared1: geez do they at least have coffee makers in the room so we can bring our own...

Something must be wrong with me:confused:, I actually like the Nescafe coffee:confused3. DH does too, but I know there is something wrong with him:rotfl2:
