We are at the Poly CL right now and noticed they are recycling the food alot, the same thing every day, morning, noon and late night with different foods from 5-7. The bananas are turning very brown, the pastries are not that fresh. Not much to choose from either...last year we stayed AKL CL and they had a lot more to choose from all day long.

One CM is here and she remembered us from the AKL CL and she said that all the liquor in the lounges are the same throughout all the CL in all the deluxe resorts....she said they were trying to do the same breakfast, snacks and desserts too.

We noticed the same thing. No variety except at the evening hour. IMO the other "snacks" were much better at AKL, although the evening food was good at both.

I found that by doing split-stay and being at one CL less than a week, you really don't have time to get bored of the offerings.;)

I'm already staying at the YC and dealing with the wonderful IPO (I've known some of them for a few years now), have also just booked a couple of nights at the Poly (first time) before I head on over to the YC, so emailed the Poly IPO to request info on their resort/club level, got a very non descript email back saying I wasn't on their system and, not to put too finer point on it, it was very blunt and totally not what I expected and the opposite of the YC IPO.

I emailed back to explain because I've booked through Disney UK the reference numbers are different and they will need to pull my details up by my dates and surname.

That was 2 days ago and I haven't heard back.

I'm very disappointed by their original response and not having heard anything following on from my 2nd email is even more disappointing.

I'm thinking maybe I just caught the IPO on a bad day (i.e. did they get out of bed the wrong side ;) :rotfl:) or maybe they're always this unhelpful :confused3

Oh, this is too bad. I hope that you were able to get things figured out. I'm sorry that happened to you. I have nothing but great things to say about the Poly IPO. Every person that I have talked to has been more than helpful, friendly and happy to help me figure out our itinerary. They have made trip planning so easy and fun to do.:goodvibes

Thankfully it is now sorted, no reason why they hadn't responded, but at least they have done so now and are proving to be very helpful despite the original hiccup.

That's the one thing I didn't like about the lounges at the YC and the BC (and I hear about the BW) -- they close their doors for the night. I can understand not serving food and drinks at night, but sometimes it's really nice to have a quiet place to sit.:confused3

There is a Very nice sitting area just outside the locked portion of the main BWI Innkeeper's Clubroom for just such a purpose.

It consists of a nice couch, a few nice armchairs, a table or two and gorgeous floral arrangements. There is also a lovely "powder room" right there as well.

These are in what would be considered the atrium area in front of the club's doors, accessible to all Innkeeper's guests anytime, but inside the restricted access club area hallway.:)

I am staying in a standard room club level and wondering what the view is going to be like-any savannahs views and are there balconies?

Staying at the AKL CL in 2 weeks myself.. I asked and they've said that all club level rooms are savannah view, and all rooms at AKL have balconies. :)

Hi everyone!

Must say off the bat that I've been lurking a lot, and you are all such a friendly bunch of people! Some forums can get quite snippy with noobs, so it's nice to 'see' the community feel here :)

That said, this is my first post :yay: I've been to Disneyland and WDW when I was very young, am planning a siblings only trip for next summer, and hope to stay at AKL.

I'd like to know the point of the Itinerary Planning - what exactly do they do? I'm finding it hard to justify the extra cost of the rooms, and this is one service I really don't understand!

Thanks for all the help!

Also OT for this thread - is there a specific thread on how to get the PIN codes? I see them mentioned a lot, but haven't found a thread on how exactly to get them. -- oh nm, I just found the sticky, haha!!!

Cheers,

I've been noticing many messages about the advantages of online check-in. However, the check-in process is different for club level, right? The IPO already has my arrival time and CC on file. This is my first trip to WDW so I'm completely new at this.

My question is, do I need to concern myself with online check-in or does it go pretty quickly for club guests at GF RPC?

Thanks so much!! :thanks:

Cheers,

Congrats on your first post! The DIS is certainly addictive and is definitely the best community!

The IPO is a tremendous help in securing your ADRs. Just call or email them with your dining requests and they will take care of it for you. The IPO at AKL was especially great for our trip in January 2009. This is a time and hassle saver in my book. They then compile all your reservations and provide you a trip itinterary which they keep updated with any changes. Others have used them to purchase surprises for the room.

Good luck with your plannning!!

When my family and I stay Club Level at the Contemporary we always check-in on our floor and don't bother with the online check-in. However one reason is because we will need a bellman to take up our luggage, so that's one reason why.

Thanks for the info :]

Is it difficult to get ADR's on one's own? We're planning a trip for next Augh so there's plenty of time I guess!

Check out my TR! We were in a standard CL room, 4407. It was the first room on the Zebra Trail. You had a great view of Arusha Rock, and off to the side you could see the savannah. We saw plenty of animals, but I would highly recommend paying the extra $$ and going on the special CL safaris. Those views are unbelievable!

Thank you for this info. It sounds like a nice quiet place to get away and sit! :goodvibes

I'm super excited!!! Got ALL my reservations this morning! The Poly IPO has been sooooo wonderful :worship:. Prior to my 180 day mark, I changed my mind and itinerary several times. Each time the IPO was very patient with me and updated my wish list. This morning at 7:10 am I received an email from the IPO with great news. EVERYTHING I wanted was granted. We are on the DxDP, so I had around 21 reservations to make...they did it all.... All the hard to get ressies like CRT, Canada, California Grill, & Fantasmic Package. This is our 1st experience with CL, and I'm very pleased. I even emailed the Poly IPO this morning with one small change and within 45 minutes it was done. We will definitely be using this service again. Thanks to all of you on this thread with the great advice. You guys are great!!!

Does the club at WL have the nifty coffee/espresso machine similar to the one in the AKL club?

Any updates or pictures of food offerings?

Yay for getting everything you wanted! :goodvibes

I, too have had a wonderful experience with the Poly IPO. Our trip is in 3 weeks (how did THAT happen!!), and they have been just great with both our initial ressies and updating our itinerary with the couple of changes I have made since. I highly recommend their service. :lovestruc

Hi! :wave2:

Me again. Quick (and stupid) question for y'all.

How many square feet do the standard, deluxe and garden suite CL rooms have? I'm trying to find the info - I keep looking at the pics and description of the garden suites and was just wondering how big they were.

TIA!
Karen :flower3:

We had a deluxe room at BWI reserved for a few days ;)
I believe they were around 644 sq. feet
I think the standard CL rooms are the same size as the regular standard rooms
