well my friend ### told me to go there to talk with yavn to get my cursed storm i kind of had an appointment lol then it got real crowded
=====
###, ### and I got our cursed storms last night from yavn for free
=====
if you hang out or in the rooms with all the people from this forum, you will see Yavn pop into a room.
=====
Yavn is the nicest producer of a game in the world! Lol I asked him if the Pirate Pin Code and the Cursed Storm Pin Code mix up would be fixed soon. And I told him about how the people who used the pirate code can not get cursed storm now. And he gave me cursed storm!!

OK, this is a very mangled, pulped dead horse, but I will beat it a little bit more.

Do you at all realize what posts like these are doing?

Yes, it is very nice of the developer to try to remedy the problems of inadvertent code mix-ups, but by fixing the problem one person at a time, and only to the few people who have "access" to him, and then posting publically that you were the beneficiary of the good deed is only perpetuating and validating the accusations of favoritism of the privileged and favored few.

You should all know that there are a growing number of adults who spend a lot of cash to Disney, as annual pass-holders, Disney Vacation Club time-share owners, Disney stock shareholders, adults who are not afraid or unwilling to voice their complaints who are increasingly irritated at favoritism and nepotism.

You should all know that these people are now by-passing the VMK feedback "black hole" and are now beginning to contact higher levels of Disney management and guest relations, because of their unhappiness at how things have been done at VMK.

Please note that I too am affected by the Bling / Cursed storm mix-up. I have not asked for a Cursed storm pin for compensation -- I would not accept one from the developers. Rather, I would like to see a global fix of some sort, rather than fanning the flames of resentment of everyone else who is not so lucky.

I like VMK a lot, but I know too many who are angry at the perceived favoritism and nepotism, and I would be sad to see VMK trashed by Disney, when Disney realizes how many high-spending Disney fans are now more and more loudly voicing their disapproval and speaking more and more harshly about their unhappiness.

I'm not surprised that because of my views and posts, I will never be in the "privileged circle" -- I am only a little bit saddened by this.

I am much more sad that because of this post and others I've made like it, some of you will likely remove me from your friends list. Before you do, please understand that I post not as an attack against people and their good fortune, or against developers and VMK staff who have put so much time and effort into a wonderful game, but as someone who looking at the "big picture" can't understand how or why things have gotten to where they are.

this is a great post and should not have been deleted.

Keep us updated on your friends situation ;)

You will still be on mine :love2:

I just wish I had another board to post this to -- very well said.

The deletion of the post from the VMK site is very troubling. :sad2:

I completely agree! HEAR HEAR!

I have an annual pass to WDW, and HAVE HAD IT for the past four years. I don't feel entitle to special treatment, but I don't condone favoritism in any way in the VMK. If it is being done for one, it should be done for all; unless circumstances are different, I.E. Room Contests.

I just want to throw in a quick reminder, we do not allow bashing of other boards, they have their rules we have ours.

Great, well thought out post. Too bad the right people won't see it.

Further justification as to why I only come here for VMK info now. I learned a lot from other sites, and am very thankful for it. But I prefer the friendliness of the Dis.

Edited my post so I'm not bashing any other site in particular.

Your points are completely valid and I agree 100%. I think it's terrible that they chose to delete it.

The only thing I wonder is whether I will be allowed to continue to play at VMK. I don't think any of the VMK staff or developers read here much, but in case they do, and to you all as well:

[soap box]

Some people worried or joked that as a "Community Leader", I would distance myself from the friends I had made, to move on to hang out with the other "have"s. I hope that the post that was deleted shows how much I care much more about the "regular players", the ones that really make up the Community of VMK.

I always thought that the role of the Community Leader was to speak up for and support the playing rights, and right to enjoy, the game of VMK for all the players, not just a few.

If I end up getting myself banned, well, at least it was for something that I believe in. And I will miss you all.

:)

Per board policy, I am editing all my posts to remove identifying which board the post was deleted from :)

Anyone else who might wish to do the same...?

This is pumpkinfish's husband, and I have a few questions:

Is this only the developer, this Yavn, who is giving out pins to certain people all the time, and NOT working on fixing this particular bug, or are they working on a solution and some random person happened to come up to Yavn and asked for a pin and he gave it to them?

Is there evidence that there is only a certain group of people who get free pins to fix the bugs, or if anyone who happens to ask Yavn for a pin to fix this bug will get one?

Is it only Yavn who gives them out, or any admin of the game? Is there an email address for bug fixes specifically for the game? Is this the only bug that is being fixed this way?

I play World of Warcraft, and although they run things extremely well and are the exception rather than the rule, it appears to me Disney needs to take a closer look at this game if they are going to put their name on it. My wife loves this game, as I'm sure all of you know, and I would hate to have her lose this connection to Disney because another company puts out a shoddy product and Disney stamps their name on it. I'm sure if there was a contact email address rather than an in-game button the issues could be resolved. I don't know much about this game having never played it, but I've heard my wife's cries of help, so to speak, and realize they can do a better job with the game, although if they're just deleting posts and legitimate questions, maybe they think the game is perfect?

Don't worry about it Bezoar, it's really completely impossible to ban anyone from anything on the internet.

Hi Pumpkinfish's husband

You might want to keep in mind we are talking about 2 different things.
The VMK is run by Disney.
The VMK fan site where the posts were deleted is an independent web site that disney has no control over.

Hey Alex! After I went to all the trouble to anonymize where I posted originally! :)

hey he said it we didn't ;)

Jean Joe, I read your post this morning on the "other" site. I can't believe they deleted it. :sad2: I totally believe everything you wrote. I hope your not banned for speaking your thoughts. I know many others who feel the same way.

Actually WebmasterAlex, I hate to say you're wrong, but you are. Yes, Disney runs the physical aspect of VMK and allows VMK on their website, but the game its' self is not run by Disney. Rather, it is run by Sulake Labs FOR Disney :)

Be, I'm so glad you moved it somewhere where your voice could be heard.

I know you've been feeling this way for a long time, as have I (I just can't keep my mouth shut!).

I might be making a move over here...as I said in another post...

and several may join me.

Same dude, always deleting what others have to say. It's sickening.

I don't play VMK a lot and you post is exactly why. I don't know a lot of the disers (yet) and everyone else just brags about what they got and how.

I have fun but I just with things were more fair.

Welcome GBShorts! Nice to see you here :)

Hey, we don't have to dwell on other boards. I think I was upset at first, but I'm all better now.

I still think VMK has wonderful potential and am sure that things will just slowly get better. As someone else said, it's in "growing pains" stage. My only goal in posting was not to "board slam" or whine, but to get across the point, somehow, to Disney that it's not just a game for kids.

It's an ADVER-GAME, and it's goal is to bring income to Disney. They can't succeed with that if they inflame adults.

But again, I'm sure it will get better. I just thought Disney and VMK developers needed to be aware that there was brewing resentment, and that it would be better to nip it in the bud.
