Epic Universe food pics

I know this food from Berk was already posted but we really enjoyed these! It was carb rich of course but so worth it. The bread was so fluffy and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the PB & J one (pork, bacon and peanut jam I think). The plain one topped with goldfish was great too.

The coveted ‘Butterbeer’ crepe from Cafe L’air de la Sirene:

… and their crème brûlée which was divine and had that good, true hard burnt sugar topping:

A few of us said the crème brûlée slightly won out over the crepe. Both were delicious!

A different view of the cone. this is the PBJ Cone.
The bread is very good - the pork is very tasty - IMO the mac and cheese is too plain.

The hype around this is over the top IMO - and the wait is just ridiculous.

Tip: I was able to mobile order it at the Spit Fyre grill and just walk up and get it with no wait at all.

So this is the two meats from the smokehouse - very disappointing to say the least.
Two ribs and a very small amount of brisket.
To be fair I smoke my own ribs, chicken wings, pork etc...so I may expect a bit more

Nothing was hot - nothing was warm. The brisket was not bad, but it was like they warmed it with a flashlight.
Ribs were very average.
The burnt ends baked beans - cant say I tasted any burnt ends - I did get a burnt end in my brisket so lucky there I guess.
The bread was nothing special.

(edit - its pulled pork not brisket - the ribs are tiny - I know its not great and so little of it )
BBQ.jpg

So the smokehouse was closed for a few hours for a VIP event - I wonder if they were serving us the leftovers from that :(

So I did not know the plate came with the bread - so I ordered a side of the mango bread as one of the "Influencers" recommended it and I had way too much bread :( well after the skimpy BBQ I guess I am glad to have something to eat.
I cant recommend this bread - really tasteless

Schnitzel from Le Gobelet Noir (Jägerschnitzel)
So - first let me start again by saying (I know there is this theme with many of these photos Ill post) - I make my own Schnitzel at home and I've had a fair amount of schnitzel in Central Europe.
This was very dry and very disappointing and again not particularly hot.
The fries look really good - but very undercooked in the middle and hard. Almost seems like they are baking frozen fries IDK.
The sauce was amazing and the highpoint - really tasty for dipping the fries.

The Bratwurst from Le Gobelet Noir. (Wizard’s Brew Bratwurst Sandwich)

So no I don't make my own Bratwurst - but I have had many different brats and this one was tasteless.
Too bad as I was really looking forward to this - again one of the Influencers really talked it up - I saw him and his girlfriend in the park and was tempted to say something about it but did not bother. He had raved about these fries as well and again they were undercooked and awful and tasted baked.

It needs sauerkraut - the onions were not very flavorful.
The cheese was really good and you got the flavor of the Wizards Brew.

The Pretzel bread was the best thing on the plate - and yes I make my own Pretzels at home ;)

Pizza Moon - was the biggest disappointment for me without a doubt - I expected a lot from it.
(I do make my own dough and pizzas at home so again maybe I am expecting too much)

A Trip to Vesuvio
Fromage de lune, pepperoni, fennel sausage, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, cherry peppers, Calabrian chili, arugula, and hot honey
So the Pizza photographs well and looks great on camera but....
This pizza was way to thick and not crispy at all - regardless of how good it looks.
The flavor just was not there. I saw many half eaten pizzas on the tables around and knew that was a bad sign. Just seemed like it was a really bad day for Pizza Moon.

So for the same money - maybe less I can get a pizza and a beer at Vivo and its far superior. Apples and oranges I know - but if I am going to consume that many calories I'll wait and get the pizza at Vivo.

One of the folks at Vivo recommended I go back and get this pizza - Hala Kahiki Mahina
Porchetta, fromage de lune, pineapple, and citrus mostarda

I wish they had cooked it a little longer - but I did enjoy it - the caramelized pineapple was excellent - the Porchetta would have been better caramelized as well or if the pizza cooked a bit more. This one was also not a thick as the previous one.

I did see a lot of variety in how pizzas were cooked this day - some were burnt very bad - other like this needed to cook longer.
The people next to be got delivered a pizza that was burnt beyond recognition and they told the guy to take it back - he didn't know what to do.

Last one - Hunter’s Garlic Stake and Monocane Mocktail from The Burning Blade
Another photo of the same thing - the line here was crazy - and still somehow the pretzel was not hot and fresh at all.
I hate Papa Johns pizza - but their garlic sauce is better

As for the The Burning Blade itself - so its way too small - as one of the employees said - Yeah who would expect a windmill that catches on fire to draw so many people. I don't know what they were thinking, but even if it was twice as big I don't think there would be enough space. The lines were just nuts for drinks most of the time.

Das Steakhaus
So as I understand it (too late for me) they have some drinks that are only available at the register and not in the app. So just an FYI. I've not looked into that.

Crimson Glazed Pork
Again I had heard so much about this - it was just slightly warm - had it been cooked more (and charred more) would have been good. Hugh disappointment.
porkbelly.jpg

The fries looked good - but again undercooked and unpleasant - are the fries baked in all these places?

I hope a Kowalski bakery will go in there.
Yeah - seems like something that would make sense - I don't know the movie but it sounds like its a big part of it from all the disappointment folks had.

To be fair I'm not sure what they could actually produce even in a small scale that would come close to these - next to impossible I'd guess:

What do you think those are made out of? Plastic? Styrofoam?

I wouldn't mind buying those as toys. Hurry up and mass produce them now! 🤣

Café L’air De La Sirène

So I really enjoyed sitting out here and people watching - not having any coffee options at all is a little disappointing - so I had a two beers. When you order a bottled beer they do not bring the bottle - they pour it at the counter and bring it to you - not a big deal and I can see why - just seemed unusual to me.
In future Ill probably get a coffee at Starbucks and come over here for food.
view.jpgview2.jpg

I had the Tomato Goat cheese tart - and it was pretty good - again maybe needed to be cooked slightly more - but I enjoyed it.
I would have liked to try a baguette - but they all seemed somewhat plain to be. I'd like to see something more unusual.

Id guess plastic molds so they could make many of them for display - so yeah they could sell a plastic one no doubt.
