Cheating and stealing is so rampant, is it really a crime?
Good question when after the 2008 housing crisis no one went to jail even after fraud that was so massive it crashed the world economy into a depression.

Riiililight. Because that defense works so well in other criminal cases - like receiving stolen merchandise, prostitution...
One guy went to prison. Apparently just this one guy. The article also explains why there were few prosecutions. They relied more on civil settlements and didn't have the prosecutorial experience to go after these cases.Good question when after the 2008 housing crisis no one went to jail even after fraud that was so massive it crashed the world economy into a depression.
I read something on FB, I didn't open the link, but thought, "if this is true, I am disgusted!"
It was saying some black woman deliberately sent her son to a better school in a different district, and she was sentenced to 12 years. TWELVE YEARS!!!! If this is true, can we please reserve prison space for real criminals? How did they come up with 12 years for something like that? How did they come up with jail time at all???
Huffman's DD was upset that her mom didn't have enough faith in her for the DD to try to get into college on her own. Then received notice that she wasn't accepted to her first choice -- a college that doesn't use SAT scores. I hope the family counseling will help.
People’s memories are short. Even Jeffrey Skilling the ex Enron CEO is lining up investors for new ventureYes, nothing like being publicly humiliated that your mother doesn't think you're smart enough to do well on the SATs or to get into college.![]()
He's barred from being an officer in a publicly held company, but I guess there's nothing that prevents him from working otherwise. I'm pretty sure that he's barred from taking on any role advising anyone on securities trading.People’s memories are short. There was a local (to me) woman who was originally sentenced to 5 years for that, but it eventually got lessen to 10 days:

She is a drug dealer. I am so happy she was jailed. I wish she had to serve a longer sentence. There was a local (to me) woman who was originally sentenced to 5 years for that, but it eventually got lessen to 10 days:

Not the case in the Akron area. There was a case in NJ where someone was sentenced to 5 years, but it ran concurrently with a drug sentence. That seemed to be mostly symbolic since it would have added time. She is a drug dealer. I am so happy she was jailed. I wish she had to serve a longer sentence.
They didn't plead out so there needs to be a trial first. So does anyone know when Lori Loughlin and her DH will be sentenced?
Do we know when that will happen? They didn't plead out so there needs to be a trial first.
