We have an eight day vacation booked for the third week in June and my husband said if we can't get any discounts for that time, we're not going. Right now we are booked at the AKL and BCR at rack rates. Any other suggestions if codes don't come out. Thanks

How about a AAA discount?

Try going over to mousesaver.com for some discount info.
For the most part the days of the codes are gone. It is rare when Disney does this anymore. The current trend is the free dining that they are offering for the end of the summer.

I gave up waiting. We're going the first week of June. Had to pay rack rate, but got a good deal on air flights.
7 more weeks.

I also doubt we see any general room codes (like in past years). Most are still holding out for an AP room only discount for later in June. Occupancy is high, so Disney really doesn't NEED to discount the rooms if people are willing to pay rack rate. As far as Disney knows, you too are willing to pay rack rate, since you already have rooms booked at full price. I would suggest you moving your reservation to a moderate if you can't afford to stay at a delux at rack rate. I would never pay rack rate for a delux. It's always better to have your mind set with a price you are willing to pay albeit a value or moderate resort, if a code comes out, it's always better to upgrade to a delux for the price you were planning to pay for a moderate.

Quoting N2MM: "It's always better to have your mind set with a price you are willing to pay albeit a value or moderate resort, if a code comes out, it's always better to upgrade to a delux for the price you were planning to pay for a moderate."

This is what I have done. If a good AP comes out for my dates I'll upgrade to AKL.

Mary: don't cancel a WDW trip just because you couldn't afford a deluxe! We stay in a Values and have for years...love it...and if a code doesn't come out, no biggie. There is SO much more to the experience than your resort room. ASMo here we come June 22!! :woohoo:

If we don't get any decent discount codes for our July trip, I will downgrade us from AKL to an All Star. I will be disappointed a little, but at least I will get to go to WDW. DS7 will be thrilled if we downgrade. His favorite resort is All Star Sports. He is actually a little disappointed that we have ressies for AKL.

I guess our main problem is that we have 5 people in our family and always think "deluxe" since value and moderate can't hold that many people( with the exception of Port Orleans/Riverside?). I know we could do two rooms but we're spoiled and have stayed at the BWI the last two times. We like the convenience of being able to walk to Epcot and MGM. I think a lot of time is saved being able to do this and since we only have 8 days planned, I like that feeling that we can walk out our door and be at those parks within minutes. Would the value resorts even have any availability for June if I wait for codes to come out? Something to think about...

I was checking dates last night and the moderates for the last week in June show nothing available. There are still rooms at the values. At AKL and WL the standard rooms are all gone too. I'd make sure the room I could afford was the one that I had booked at this point in time.

Have you check into the Swan/Dolphin, same area as you like, but quite a bit cheaper depending on your dates. I just got a voucher for 1/2 off rack rates because I renewed my Starwood American Express. Sometimes they have other deals as well on the Starwood website.

Can you fit five people in the Swan/Dolphin? I'm sure I've checked into this hotel but probably read that they only allow 4 people in a room. I'm sure getting two rooms would be more expensive than one at the BCR. Thanks for the suggestion though. If you know any differently, please let me know. Thanks

we're going the last week in june. there are no rooms at all available at the moderate or value results. can't you stay in a suite or vacation home offsite? :confused3
