Codes for early December?

Are there ever any codes for the beginning of December? I'd like to book a room only reservation within the next few weeks. Thinking of a moderate or possibly Wilderness Lodge but that is only if there was a code. I do have a Disney Visa Card too. Sometimes I get postcards in the mail, that started after my May 2003 trip. When would be the best time to book too?

This is sort of a hard question to answer. Last year Disney started to do a few things differently. They used to release codes for December dates around end of summer (Aug/Sept.) but last year they did/didn't. I believe they released last minute codes for AP holders but none were offered to general public (however there was a discount for AAA members). They did offer a dream maker type package which gave a discount around 15% off of rack rates but I don't think that was offered until sometime in October. Now this year Disney seems to be back to the codes (esp. if you have the Disney Visa) but the rest of year remains a mystery at this point so you will need to keep checking these boards. Also if you have a AAA card, you may want to call about discounts with that card (I have a coworker who has ressie's at PC for dec with a nice rate).

:D We are going 12/3 - 12/7 and got the AAA rate of $68.68 including tax, p/night at POP Century and I was told the moderates would have been $118 p/night with the AAA rate. We went last Dec. also and codes for the general public never came out. We always keep hoping though!!!:D

We asked our Small World Vacations travel agent this very question! Here is what she said: recently Disney has started releasing a Winter Dream Maker which will offer some discounted rates, but of course she is always on the lookout for codes. Shwe mentioned if there were to be any codes, they would probably be released around August (just a guess, not based on any inside knowledge).

We booked a room only rate at the BWI, but she assured us as Disney released new offers, etc., we could alter our reservations to the most dicounted price possible as we movecloser and closer to December. With our original room booking, we got an AAA discount of over 300 dollars, and it was reassuring to hear the price would (possibly) only go down from that.

Thanks for the input everyone. I am not a AAA member but I just got an application in the mail and I was thinking about joining. If you use the AAA discount do you have to call AAA or can you call Disney yourself and tell them you're a member.

I have AAA and I contacted Disney directly. They were very kind, very accommodating, and I received a rate for December that I am very pleased with.

I've also contacted a AAA representative in the past and if memory serves me correctly, they quoted in the area of the same rate as Disney did with a AAA discount.

Contacting Disney directly will cut out AAA as the middle man, which I think worked better for me.

WRONG INFORMATION FROM PREVIOUS POST!!

Correct Information on Disney Resort AAA Rates Follows -
* Call Disney and give them your dates, resort choice, Etc. Etc/
* They will ask you for information, number in party, Etc. ETc.
* After you get your rate quote - Tell them you are a AAA member and ask her/him to apply the AAA discount to your quote.
* You WILL SAVE Big Bucks.
*You do not need to supply your AAA number to get a quote.

I booked my last trip (3/04) through AAA - and all they did was call Disney reservations (more than once the AAA agent would call me with a question, saying he had Disney on hold!). Next time, I am going to just call Disney directly. My AAA agent also told me NOT to book airfare through AAA - but to book directly through the airline - it would be cheaper!

Hope this helps!!:earsgirl:

I won't say you don't need your AAA number to get a quote, but most CM I've spoken to won't give a quote without the number.
