Code Rate Questions

I'm planning to plan my trip for summer 2005.

We're AAA members, Disney Visa cardholders, don't have APs - but will have days left on php and probably won't need more tickets, have booked through Dreams Unlimited for our govt. discount at Dolphin.

I'm dreaming of POLY for this trip. Are there usually room only codes in the summer? I've read that if a code comes out, DU will apply it to an exisiting ressie, is that true? Or is it better to call the day it comes out and try to get it for myself?

Please teach me how this works, I need help!

There is a new room only code listed on the resorts info for Visa card holders till July 4th. I was able to apply this code for our stay the first week in July and actually switched to POFQ from a AAA rate at POP for almost the same rate (as I've read others have done). I just called 1-407-wdisney and they CM was very helpful and changed my res. w/ no problem. There was also a thread about a code that listed the Polynesian for 239- per night.

I haven't booked w/ Dreams Unlimited but I hear they are very reliable. If they say they will apply the code I am sure they will but that is to your existing reservation. If you want to apply the code to a resv. at Poly you will most likely have to keep your eyes open for that code yourself and change the resv. but I am not positive how that works.

Good luck!

Codes just came out for the Polynesian 3 days ago (good till early July) -- Room-Only codes BBY and ONZ rates are $244/night, Garden-View. "Rack-Rate" (for that same time-period) is $344.
Annual Pass code rates are $229/night......not enough lower to warrant buying an AP just to get a cheaper room for those of us who don't get to go to WDW multiple times in one year (as long as you can get a regular code applied, that is).

I don't know anything about Dreams Unlimited however, if I were you, I'd do it myself just to make sure. There are a very limited number of rooms allocated for any one code......and they tend to go pretty fast. If, for some reason, your travel agent is super busy that week and doesn't catch the code in time, you'd be out of luck. The more eyes that are looking, the better.

I was extremely lucky and found the codes the day after they were posted. I called CRO Thursday to have them applied. My only "glitch" to this was that I originally booked on-line. Because of this, the very nice Reservation Specialist told me that I had to make a new reservation (for the same dates) with the code. Then, once that was confirmed, the nice lady simply cancelled my original (on-line) reservations.

And, as I've posted many times on this board, there is NO reason to call 407-WDISNEY to make your reservations......unless you just like giving your hard-earned money to the phone company. :scratchin Use Eisner's dime instead!!!!! ::yes::
Call:
800-828-0228 or
877-939-3732 ;)

Both are toll-free and connect you with the same CRO. You can also call these same, toll-free numbers to make all of your Priority Seating requests for your dining/dinner-show/character-meal preferences. When you call the numbers, you'll get an electronic promt menu with about 5 choices. Simply press "3" for dining (they just changed this menu last week, it used to be 5, now it's 3).

Good luck with your codes!!!!!!! :D
