I think there is a difference between a "coach" and someone who helps out. Especially if its another kid or a peer/child. I think of coaches as adults... There are many parents who couls also fall into this catagory. If so, a card signed by the kids might suffice.... No matter what - the people who are there to help out do it bacuse they want to be there - not becuase they will/might get soemthing at the end of the season...
I know what you mean, they don't expect it but I sure hate to leave people out. It just threw me at the time. A bit of explaining might help too. Head coach has three sons, 19, 17 and 13. The 19 and 17 year old helped the year previous and actually ran some practices when dad/head coach could not, with the okay of all and help of some of the parents. A lot of the boys already knew them and definitely respected them.
Thanks for the input though, I appreciate it. I still like that idea of a scrapbook. Actually dug through some photos I took during the season. I probably could have put one together if this thread was here 6 months ago. I will most definitely be prepared next year, especially if he has the same coaches (which I hope for, seriously great guys).
