We have the thread that talks about the CM's that have been rude or done something undisney! What about CM's that have really made your day at WDW!

A few come to mind from recent day trips -

The parade CM last week that let DS play with her light and entertained him before the parade started.

The Monorail CM that blew the horn for DS.

The 2 CM's yesterday that let DS say "driver we're clear" on the tram to and from TTC

Mary Poppins at MVMCP that stopped signning autograph's to come give DS a kiss on the cheek all b/c he blew her a kiss when she said bye. Bert that night next to Mary who when he found out we were from New Orleans, said he was sorry and was glad we were at WDW!

I love Disney CM. I have a few stories about them. One was about a guy who just started at the tower or Terror, and he had to look in his hat for the speech before the ride. However as the doors were closing he said "In case of a sudden drop.." and the doors closed. It helped set the mood.

I also met a Cm on Dinosaur in the AK. I went there for the Magic hour and rode the ride about 15 times one day and 10 another in a row, with no lines. The guy was the one that boarded people and made sure the seat belts were fastened. We had a running joke going about what seat had the best ride, and a few other things. HE got a real joy out of watching me enjoy the ride over and over.

In the Hall of Presidents a woman was able to talk to us about the portraits of the Pres, and the animatronics. It was really great.

I always enjoy saying stuff that pertains to the ride, just to see if they are paying attention and they usually respond with another wise remark. I love it.

There are more stories, and I may write about them later. I just think that the people there really enjoy working there and I always love when they interact in a way that represents their attraction.

On our last trip at the end of May last year my DD 3 lost her Buzz Lightyear toy phone on the Buzz Lightyear ride. SHe was hysterical in tears. We went back in the exit and the CM who helped us was so great. Her name was April and she couldn't have been sweeter to my daughter. She had the ride operators look for the toy and assured my daughter that they would either find her phone or give her a slip to get a new one from the stand outside the ride. When we checked in about an hour later they had found the phone. When we got home I emailed WDW about April. I got a phone call about a month later saying they had gotten my email and made a note in the CM employee record.

We had some great CMs last week. The morning we were transfering from the CRB to the GF we overslept. I must have set the wake up call wrong. I had called the night before to ask bell services to pick up our luggage for transfer at 7:45AM. They explained to me (which I already knew, but it was nice they explained it too) that they would transfer the luggage between 1 and 3. That was our MVMCP day so DH and I took out our coats, glove, etc and put them in a bag we intended to carry around all day, incase the luggage didn't get transfered in time.

Anyway, I woke up at 7:39AM - six minutes until the luggage people were coming. I quickly called down and asked if they could come in an hour instead. They said they had 8:50 available. I said great and we got ready. The Bellman came promptly at 8:50. He asked if we were going to airline check in. We said no, we were transfering to the GF. He said okay and started putting the tags on our bags. He then said,"Did they explain how they do bag transfers?" I said yes, they said the bags would be transfered between 1 and 3. He said, "Yes, that's how they do them, but its not the way I do them. If its okay with you, I'm going to load you and your bags up in my van and drive you over there."

I thought, wow, how nice. He did just that and we got to the GF about 9:30. We were able to check in - no room yet - and store our bags, including our coats and gloves until later in the day. We hopped on the monorail and had a great day at MK.

Before the MNSSHP parade, my 2 yo DD was getting bored. So I took her in the Emporium to look around. Well after 2 minutes, she was bored in there also. One of the employees seen this, and put on the Stitch hands and hat and started chasing her around the store and playing with her, really passed the time. She loved it!

One evening on a trip to MK by myself, Adrian from parade control had stopped to talk to me while we waited for the parade to start. When the end of the parade came, he grabbed my hand and we walked arm in arm behind to end of the parade banner, singing and dancing. What a special treat!!

A few years ago, we left EPCOT and were waiting at the front of the line to go on the monorail. We had been told by a CM on a previous trip that if you show the CM at the gate the "secret signal" they will automatically know you want to ride in the front on the monorail. So, my DS (age 6 at the time) made the signal to the CM. Apparently, she didn't know that secret signal. But my DS just kept giving her the signal (which is just touching your finger to the side of your nose) over and over and over. Finally, she asked what he was doing. He said that he was using the signal to hope to ride the front of the monorail. Instantly, she called ahead to see if the front was available on the incoming train. It was. Our son was so excited! He said "I hope it's the black (striped) monorail. That's my favorite!" She, again, called to find out the color, but it was not black. While he was disappointed it wasn't black, he was still thrilled to ride in the front. I guess she thought he was cute or something (he IS a cutie-pie :)) because she called around to find out where black was. As it turns out, we'd be getting to the ticket center just after the black was to depart. So, she had them HOLD the black monorail for us. When we got to ticket center, we were whisked across the platform and taken directly to the front of the black monorail. They even had an official "Monorail Certificate" waiting for my DS. (She had called ahead to tell them his name, too.) Once in the front, our 6 year old DS was ACTUALLY ALLOWED TO DRIVE THE MONORAIL THE ENTIRE TRIP TO MK!!!!! We could not believe it!

What a WONDERFUL thing that CM did for our DS. . . our whole family! It is STILL one of my absolute favorite Disney memories. Michelle, if you're out there. . . thanks, again. . . you are the best!!!

In September, we were staying at POP and had a 9:10 ADR for Cape May Cafe. We questioned a CM at the bus stop and he gave us some options. That was our Epcot day so we went ahead and went there. After arriving , we talked to the bus driver and realized that we would not make our time if we went into Epcot and then on to The Beach Club. The driver said hop back in and I will take you there. So we had our own personal transportation and made our ADR on time.

When we went on our trip this past Oct. my DS4 was a little nervous about seeing the Characters. On our 2nd day there we had a Character Dinner at The Garden Grill, it was a late seating and the restaurant was not that crowded. While my son was being shy and did not want to get his pic taken with them, Mickey Mouse threw me out of my seat and sat and played with him for about 10 - 15 min until he warmed up to him and Chip,Dale and Pluto also spent time playing with him, for the rest of the week he couldnt get enough of them and even asked for his own autograph book the next morning like his brother had. The "freinds" of those charaters really helped make his and our vacation.

We had quite a few, actually on our last trip. On our first day when I was getting my AP voucher exchanged the CM found out we were from Iowa. I grew up not too far away from where she grew up. She gave us four free ice-creams.

The next day we were in Animal Kingdom, and we had to stop at Guest Relations to see about a reservation. While we were waiting my DD4 told one of the other ladies that we went on Kali River Rapids 3 times in a row. The CM said that deserved something special. So, she gave each of my girls a Francis beanie. He is the ladybug from Bug's Life.

The next day we were waiting for the train, and the CM asked my girls if they wanted to be the guest conductor and ride in the back of the train. So, my DD4 got to say All aboard. Of course, she yelled and said On the board, and I'm sure they were happy to see them leave, but it was still fun for her.

On another day we were at World of Disney and I my DD couldn't decide on what pin to give to a CM. So, the CM told her just to have the pin she wanted.

The last day we were there we went to the Comtemporary to get our boarding passes printed out. While DH and I were doing that one of the guys in a suit talked to my girls the whole time. First he gave them candy out of his candy jar. And told them to make sure they took a big handful. Somehow it came up that my girls both dressed up as princesses for Halloween. So, he told them anyone who has been a princess deserves a free pin. My girls weren't even wearing their lanyards. The CM said I had to pick which girl went first. DD4 picked out a Tinker Bell with glittery wings. He thought that was the one they would both want, so he got some more out and made sure that my older DD picked a lanyard pin, and he told her to make sure she doesn't trade that one.

My DD4 was really into pin trading and she would ask everyone to see their pins. I had to explain to her that they didn't have to trade with her, but she'd ask just to see them. Two different people gave her pins just because.

So, I think overall, we were very lucky in the special treatment from the CMs. We had a wonderful trip.

Last year on our trip at Christmas we had a great Character meal..... I do not know which CM was Suzie or Perla mouse, but they were great. My dd, who was 2 at the time, was just getting into Cinderella. "Ella" We went to 1900 for the meal. When Cindy and Charming came to the table they were great. Kaylee just loved them, but when Suzie and Perla came to our table my dd went nuts!!! I was almost in tears. My dd kept saying MOUSE, MOUSE, MOUSE..... Suzie and Perla kept coming back to our table. They spent so much time with my little one. Everyone wanted Cindy and Charming, and my little one wanted MOUSE, MOUSE, MOUSE. I think it made their day as well, because my child was going crazy for them. That whole night was one of the best memories I think I will ever have. To see my childs face light up with such excitement and wonder... Disney is the greatest... And thanks to Suzie and Perla!!!!! My dd got to see her MOUSE! :goodvibes

I saw this great post and realized Adam had done something for us too! We got off of RNR and were looking around (me and my cousin). We were being silly and trying on hats & such. When we finally got to the front to purchase our photo (which is a scream because neither of us ever rode it before and it's priceless..anyway) he put our photos in a cute Tinkerbell envelope and we were "mock" fighting over it.

He said "just a second" and came back a minute later with a Tink envelope and a Tink certificate for each of us!

We kept calling him Spencer and he told us finally he had the wrong name tag and his name is really Adam. Too funny! What a great CM. I never emailed Disney about him, but am going to right now. Here is what he gave us. What a guy! Thanks Adam! (Spencer) :rotfl2:

Awww is so nice hearing all the good stories instead of all the bad ones LOL

I have another one

A few weeks ago we took DS to Animal Kingdom. We happened to run into the new chef there Chef Wendy and some other ladies (not sure if they were assistants or executives) showing Chef Wendy around the park. I stopped her and asked her if she knew where in the park we could find non dairy ince cream for my DS who is milk allergic. She asked the other ladies none of them knew. So one of them picked up her cell phone and started calling all the resturants in AK. All the managers/chefs started looking for non dairy ice cream for DS. When it looked like we wen't going to find it Chef Wendy told the other ladies that if MK has it then they need to carry it also for people like my DS who need it. We thanked them and walked off to get DS a strawberry popcicle. When we were in line at the cart, one of the ladies pulled me aside, and said they found it at the resturant in Dino Land and it will always be there. :goodvibes

We had a nice experience this past weekend in Epcot. We rode Figment and then of course were in the store. My youngest DD7 wanted to buy a pin lanyard and trade pins liker her older sister. I let her pick one out and she took it up to the counter to pay with her own money. The CM there asked if she was just getting started collecting pins. She said yes. He told her she could pick any one of his pins to start her collection with. I thought it was really super of him to do that for her. Made it very special for her.

We were very fortunate to be put in contact with a very special CM who works at City Hall. This CM has provided pixie dust moments that will never be forgotten. Over the past 18 months, this person has gone from being a CM to becoming a good friend, also. :cloud9:

We encountered a wonderful CM who works concierge at POP. She made some amazing magic happen to replace a limited edition pin my sister lost during our recent trip.

We also had terrific CMs at the Grand Floridian Cafe who helped make my parent's 60th anniversary a magical night.

There were many, many CMs who were warm, friendly, and helpful. The ones mentioned above went out of their way to do something extra special for us. A separate e-mail for each of those CMs is being sent to Guest Relations with compliments and requests for recognition as well as our thanks and appreciation for all their efforts. They all truly know how to make a guest feel special and a Disney trip even more magical!

Hands down, it is my son's private meeting with Maleficent. My dh sent Zane (he's 7 now, was 5 then)and me for a special trip in June 2004(we have now 21 month old twins and their arrival was a bit hard on the Z-man).

On our last day we had breakfast at the 'Ohana character meal and one of the CM's came to the table and struck up a conversation with Zane about his favorite characters. He loves the villains (just like his mama) and I mentioned that Maleficent had been our "holy grail"--we'd never seen her except in the parade at MK.

Long story short, this fabulous lady arranged a private meeting at City Hall (in an office) with Her Royal Badness. The Guest Services CM gave Zane a new autograph book (he said Maleficent might be offended if she couldn't be the first signature), a coupon for a free Maleficent t-shirt and 2 immediate use fastpasses!

Maleficent was fabulous--she even acted puzzled that she hadn't yet blown up the St. Louis Arch when we told her where we were from (we're just across the river from St. Louis)! The look on my little boy's face? Well, priceless just begins to cover it. He got to be special when he needed it most and for that I'll be eternally grateful.

I sent a thank you to WDW about these wonderful CM's (I have their names) and got a call from WDW thanking me for taking the time to send it. Apparently it *does* matter when CM's get praise from us. These two (and Maleficent, too!) richly deserved it!

We've had several really cool moments, but the one that floored me happened on our last trip. I'd made a big splurge and booked the Lunch With an Imagineer for DD and myself. Lunch was fabulous, teh chef was great, and the Imagineer we had lunch with was really nice.

Anyway, they give you a plate signed by the Imagineer. Normally, they take some time to pack it up after lunch and you can pick it up in a while. Well, we needed to head out of MGM pretty soon after lunch, so we asked nicely if they could just pack ours up so we could carry it with us. They had no problem with that. The Imagineer had to leave (guess he's gotta work or something silly, lol) so the manager of the restaurant - a young guy - came in to keep us entertained and happy and not stealing anything. ;-) Anyway, he got to chatting with DD8 and we quickly discovered that not only did he grow up in the area we live in, he'd attended her elementary school and they shared a kindergarten teacher! They had a lot of fun comparing playground equipment then vs now and such. :-)

A few years ago we were in MK and I had hear (or probably read on these boards) that if you ask you can get some Mickey head straws. Both of us worked in childcare at the time, and we thought it would be cool to bring back some for the kids. So this great CM who worked in the candy shop, got us enough straws for the kids in the rooms we worked in. BUT the thing is she had never heard of giving them out before and she took her time to check to see if she could. She spent a lot of time checking for us. On the way out we stopped and made sure that we left someone in City Hall know.

can some one tell me how you email disney and say nice things bout a CM i would appreciate it thx
adam
