Fleagle - Count me in! Let me know what you need me to do. :-)

KTP - See if you can't send some of that snow a bit further south...to my part of Texas! It's been years since we've had any snow. :-)

Good Morning!!!!
HI all, I have a favor to ask....it is another voting opportuniy....but, you can only vote once a day so it shouldn't take much valuable voting time away from our Dis CMOers. My daughter enterd her dog in a contest with the humane society. Simply to to the below link and enter his name - Ziggy- BUT, you must click the word search...hitting enter doesn't work. Anyway, you should be able to quickly find a beautiful Black Lab whose photo was taken by my daughter at her college photo studio (she is a great photographer!) , and vote! I would really appreciate it!

Ok... so here is what I am thinking. (Feel free to comment... nothing is locked in stone) Sunday night at 9 PM EST. Ninety minute DISbate followed by a 30 minute "Spin Room"

The candidates are all invited to participate, and will need to tell us in advance that they will be here "live" Anyone who can't make it will have the opportunity to answer a couple of questions via email, but will have a time limit to respond so as not to give them an advantage.

The point of the debate will be for FUN... not to grill the candidates. Anyone can submit a question to me via email. I'll compile a list and send it out to a committee who will choose the final questions. Some questions may be asked by "celebrity" guests.

PART ONE: Each candidate will be able to post an opening statement in real time. Then a series of questions will be asked to ALL of the candidates and they will have five minutes per question to post a response (quoting the question in their post so we can keep track) There will be approximately 5 questions in that section.

PART TWO: In the second section, we will ask individual questions to individual candidates. Again, any candidate not present will have the opportunity to have their answers posted for them... but if they are asked in advance they will have the same amount of time as the "live" candidates.

PART THREE: Finally, each candidate that agrees to participate will be able to ask one question of another candidate assigned at random. They will be informed of their assigned candidate at least 24 hours in advance.

THE SPIN ROOM: Following the debate, we will have 30 minutes in The Spin Room. This will be the time for supporters to lay out reasons why their candidate is the best.

I will personally pledge 10 votes to each candidate that participates, and 100 votes to the candidate that I feel performs best in the DISbate. Other participants are encouraged to pledge votes.

CANDIDATES: This is your chance to garner the support of some of the most passionate Disney fans out there. If you can win them over, you can count on THOUSANDS of votes. It will definitely be worth your while to participate.

Ok DIScademy... thoughts?

wow, i love this idea!! how much fun--and how terrifying all at the same time!! :) seriously, i'm there.

Very cool! I'm pledging 10,000 votes to anyone that will take me to one of the SPONSOR parks!

kenny, did you want a tour of careerbuilder? i could totally hook you up!

seriously, though, i occasionally have access to some wdw tickets (well, 1 or 2, i should say). when are you coming back down here?

ok, now i'm talking to myself....

goodnight, all. up again tomorrow morning at 5:45 to head into work...

p.s. welcome back, karrie!

I dunno HMF... That might have been a "deal breaker" for me! ;)

Actually, my DH truly appreciates the "Sponsor," recognizes that everything affiliated with the "Sponsor" is typically top-notch and enjoys himself while we're at the "Sponsor's" properties. I'm sure he also thinks I'm a bit too fanatical about it all! (Fortunately, it's mostly just amusing to him, I think...)

My biggest "complaint": We do have different ideas about how frequently we should visit the Parks. Obviously, mine are more aggressive! :rolleyes1
Sounds like we are in the same boat.... he enjoys going to the "Sponsors" parks, the hotels, just walking around, etc... even his favorite park is Epcot at night. But he is a thrill junkie... he likes his coasters and crazy thrill rides. Don't get me wrong.... I like them to, but nothing beats a spin around Tomorrowland on the TTA for me.

Yeah..... DH really only wants to go like once or twice a year.... I'm like, no we need to go like 4 times. But it is a trade off... he says to me, if we go again this year then we have to go to Universal. So I roll my eyes and agree to it. Then when we are there I curse Universal.... shake my fist at the entry lighthouse tower thing and usually say something like "I rue the day Universal!"

Fleagle - Count me in! Let me know what you need me to do. :-)

KTP - See if you can't send some of that snow a bit further south...to my part of Texas! It's been years since we've had any snow. :-)
Cato.... I just noticed your new avator. I LOVE it!!!!

The avatars are coming--sorry! I've been working anywhere from 9 to 11 hours a day at my "real job" this week. Hopefully things lighten up a little so I can spend some time with my family AND get avatars finished this weekend!

OK, first of all
Hi KTP - Looking forward to living vicariously through your pictures of snow. Hope you have a nice storm.

Let's put this into perspective...here in the lovely heartland of Iowa we have been gifted with 55 inches of snow so far this winter. :scared1: Right now there is a 7 ft. drift in my back yard. Folks here are getting, well, weird....think Jack Nicholsen in the Shining :scared:

And did Tripp say he "had" to go to the sponsers park this weekend...oh how my heart bleeds for you ;)

And...HMF...did your spouse make a video for CMO...he looks very familiar to me, and those pics of Ohana made me want to jump off the weight watchers wagon! (14 down!!)

AND, a debate!! Hurrah! Since we were first in the nation with our caucus I have kind of missed the vote pandering!

Peace Out Alll!!!
and thanks for all the "Ziggy love" today...you can vote again tomorrow :thumbsup2

YIKES! It is midnight, I just finally got home from work and had a chance to get to the computer and I'm at least 6 pages behind. . . here are my initial, brief responses to what I think I just read as I scanned it all . .

1) Tripp - YES! Someday I am making it down to Atlanta and we are making a deal for a Lab - (and for the record, the mention of pure-bred lab puppies just switched MY OWN WIFE from voting for me to you. Thanks. :) )

2) FLEAGLE! - I'm in. I'm so in. And I get dibs on making an SNL related comment about you guys taking it to easy on one of the other candidates (Can I get Patrick another pillow?) Just kidding, . . . ok, it's too late. That was a lame attempt at a joke and I'm even too tired to go back and edit it out . . Wow.

3. Welcome back Karrie

4. Have a great trip, Tripp. (Again, it must be late because I found that sentence oddly fun to type)

Ok, I think I'm generally caught up - just in time for me to go to sleep and miss more of the action!
Sunday night at 9 pm (EST) - The Great DISbate! I'm SO there!

Oh, I was talking about my next trip to DW in April...:rotfl2:
he will be staying home to dogsit....I will be on the Wonder with a Bahama Mama...Now that's what I'm talking about! :rotfl2:

Nice! :teeth:

Hmmmm...... Now there's a thought... ;)

Just popping in quickly to say that I am excited for the DISbate. Ever since the adrenaline wore off from the Discademy Awards, I felt bummed. But now I am looking forward to the magic of the Great DISbate -- I can't wait for you all to 'turn it on'!!

I, too, will pledge 10 votes to all who show up or answer questions in advance and lots more for he/she who impresses me the most!

Once again, such forward thinking Fleagle!!

The avatars are coming--sorry! I've been working anywhere from 9 to 11 hours a day at my "real job" this week. Hopefully things lighten up a little so I can spend some time with my family AND get avatars finished this weekend!

Andy spend time with your family!!! We can be patient!:)

Cat love your cat-o-mation!!!

seriously, though, i occasionally have access to some wdw tickets (well, 1 or 2, i should say). when are you coming back down here?

Meggin, out of curiousity, how does one occasionally have access to some wdw tickets????? :confused3

When I hit 70 lbs lost (9.5 lbs away), my husband has offered a Disney World trip as an incentive to reach the goal.....initially my 'reason' for losing weight was to make sure I fit on all rides, immature, yes, but very, very real. So, I will be back in 9.5 lbs!!! :cheer2:

Anyhooooooooooo, any chance other DISers could score on these tickets too? :flower3:

NEED SOME DISbate HELP!

If any of you have contact with any of the Top 10... get hold of them and tell them to get over here to let us know if they are in or out. (Sounds like a job for a Pirate!)

Also, PM me with any questions you'd like to have asked. Remember.. FUN. But also consider the perspective of WHY someone is the best choice.

I also need some quick questions for Trippy so we can get him set before he heads to Disney.

Thanks - surprisingly it doesn't look that much like me, really. I wonder why? :-)

It might look that much like you, but it still puts a smile on my face! Well done, I think it was a really cute and clever idea!
