Closing Time!

That is interesting. I may try that tomorrow. I'll look up my deed now and print it. When I was on the phone I got the feeling that she knew my member/club ID # but wouldn't tell me it because she couldn't verify me. You would think there would be a way to do that verification without all this waiting. {sigh}
Here is the latest update - I got an email with my club ID two minutes ago!
I have no idea how I got this email so fast but this afternoon I sent an email to member services admin and gave all my identifying information including the deed number and asked them to if there was a way to send the club ID email. Not sure if it was a coincidence or if it worked but I have logged in and can see my account. The points aren't loaded yet but one step at a time. LOL
 
Can you let me know what email address you used to contact member services? I still have not gotten my ID yet. By tomorrow it will be Day 10. I do have my deed.

I sent the email to members at disneyvacationclub dot com
In the email I said that I received the activation code, then gave them ALL the info about the contract I purchased including the deed number. I asked them if they would please have someone forward my club ID number.
I saw on the DVC facebook page that I am a part of that someone else had their deed recorded on 10/24 and received their activation code on 11/6 at 10:00 am and the Club ID on 11/6 at 10:00 pm. I also received my Club ID email at 10:00 pm.

This might be the... silliest question. But what does the "closing" consist of? Do you need to go into a Zoom? How long does it take?

You get closing documents by email to docusign. Sellers gets theirs to sign. You sign yours, they sign theirs. After you wire your final payment escrow processes paperwork and it closes. They will email you to tell you it’s closed and that the was deed sent to record with county recorder and contract was sent to Disney for transfer.

No zoom needed typically although I think I heard board sponsor does zoom as a personable thing for stuff but I’m a no video chat person and would say no thanks to that.

Received our activation code on 10/31 and we are still waiting for the Member ID email. Seems like we have to call Member Administration. 😕

Update: We sent an email to memberservice on 11/12 and recieved the email with the ID on 11/14. 🥂🥳
 
Final update, process is complete. I chatted with DVC just now and he was able to load my points right away. Refreshed my screen and all the points were there. Now I have to decided if I want to buy 24 one time use points for 2024 to go with my 39 points, or bank the 39 to 2025... about to go plan some vacations. There will be no work getting done today! :laughing:

I'm an existing DVC member. I'm buying a new UY, and I was expecting the 2 emails from DVC for setting up the new membership; they haven't arrived. I wasn't logging into DVC everyday, but yesterday I logged in and my new membership & contract was there. Points aren't loaded, so I'm almost at the end.

I thought that if you were an existing member buying the same UY, your contract would just show up, but if it is a different UY, it won't automatically show up and you'll have to get the emails to add the new membership to your account.

If you have a login and membership it will just show up there in my experience no emails, even with a new UY. Congrats!!

Your login to the member website doesn’t change. Nor does your Club ID - only one per person. But now you have a drop down box to choose which membership you’re working with at the moment.
 
I can finally see my resale on my contracts but not the points. If I call member services to request the points be added so I can book, is that all I need to ask/say? TY in advance.

For my latest resale 2 months ago, the points were loaded 3 days after it first appeared in my account.

So I would just be patient and if by the end of the week it's not there, call and ask.

All it took for me last week was do the chat on the DVC website. You just need to have your membership number and your account activated. She was able to load them while we chatted. I have now spent my points 10x over and have realized that 170 points is not enough!

In each of my resale experiences I used the chat feature and asked if they could load the points on "my recently closed resale contract". I used that terminology because the first time they told me that it takes a few days for them to be able to see the points. They have to manually add them to your account. In my experience they loaded them immediately. Took about 5 minutes. Worth a shot.
 
Why did I ever think that 170 points was going to be plenty of points to start with???
My DVC resale experience has wrapped up and as of Friday the points are in my account. I have planned 500 trips so far with these points and all my points will be gone by Oct 2025 and my use year is June! I need another contract stat but that isn't in the cards since it is just me purchasing.
I need to figure out how to best utilize these points to make them stretch.
