On the wish my DH actual birthday happened when we were on board. Every time he used his KTTW card on that exact day CM wished him a happy day, he got free popcorn for the movie, the spa sent him a gift card per say, sang to him at dinner, just lots of misc. things.
On the treasure april 5- 12, his birthday is the 18th, it was noted on reservation. Nothing, not a single thing happened. No big deal just thought that was interesting.

The code is for THAT DAY. Like how on the resort TVs it only says the event on that day.

You can certainly ask your serving team to celebrate on a day if you want. But for the card to show it, it will only be the exact day.

Yes, future or past -- no matter how close to the sailing -- you need to inform your servers of the date you wish to celebrate. There are a lot of people each sailing celebrating various things (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) not on the actual date.

Does it have to be close? Birthday in June, Cruise in August?????
No worries.

My dad's birthday is in January, but in 2022 they moved their cruise over his 80th to May. We celebrated in May and it was no problem. Just let your serving team know when you want to do the celebration.

The only thing is it won't show up when you scan your card like if you're cruising ON your day.

Yep. Another cruise when I took my parents, the night we were in Cariocas (tells you how long ago that was!) and SOOOOOO many people were celebrating something. Our service team asked if there was anything we wanted to celebrate to join the fun.

Good to know, I don’t think we will be traveling in April again. We normally cruise or go to the parks in October, November or December.

We for some reason always travel during my husbands birthday. On the 5+ cruises we’ve taken over this BD, including a PC cruise and a B2B2B, he has gotten nothing. Not even a HB treat in the dining room. For our 30th anniversary we sailed concierge and all we got was a magical memories certificate. No swan on the bed with rose petals, a treat sent to our room, nothing.

I can't help with the rest of it, but if you want a celebration at dinner, you need to let your service team know which night. They're happy to do it, but they can't read minds. Not everyone celebrating a birthday wants all the attention so they don't default to it.

Thanks for this! I thought noting it on the reservation was sufficient. I was confused why, after noting our daughter's birthday on the reservation for our two most recent cruises (just before and just after her birthday), there was no acknowledgment. We'll definitely do this for our upcoming cruise, which does coincide with her actual birthday.

We also did not get anything special from dcl on our son’s birthday. We noted it on the reservation and we did ask our dining team to sing in the dining room, which they did. But nothing else.

The spa discount might be transferrable, if you ask nicely and they're willing to accomodate.

(I know because we often sail during my birthday. My wife makes extensive use of the spa, and was pleasantly surprised she could use the discount, as we don't sail while that her birthday.)
