Oooo split-stay decision! What fun!

I've stayed at both BWI-CL and YC-CL, (we have no desire to stay at BC). We didn't like BWI's CL, but we do like the location so I had booked a non-CL room there for a few nights before our 8-night WL stay. It's nice doing an Epcot Resort/WL split.

BWI rooms are currently undergoing a rehab until Sep. The rooms haven't been rehabbed since '09 and they are showing their age. I was concerned about getting an un-rehabbed room and/or hearing the rehab which involves removal of all the bathtubs. Also, we much prefer YC's nautical theming over BWI's theming, which is similar to GF.

I prefer that BWI doesn't share any amenities such as the gym, pool and buses with another resort as do YC/BC. But, I was concerned about getting an un-rehabbed room and possibly being disturbed by the construction. We also prefer booking CL, but after trying BWI's CL back in 2012 and not liking it, we booked without. I liked YC's CL more than BWI's, but nothing compares with WL. The Regatta Club's lounge is small and has no views, but DH has never stayed at YC so this will be a new experience for him. He was in AFG when DD and I stayed there back in 2010.

Let us know what split you decide on. Splits are lots of fun!

Hmm we would have tried BWI CL but now...

You simply must do a trip report on YC\CL. ;)

If course you'll be the first to know!

I knew you would approve, too:hug:. I know that YC is your F&W home. I have several 7DMT FP+s. I made them the day they came open. It's so exciting having a brand new ride to experience. It seems we've all been anticipating the opening for so long and here it is on Wednesday! Hope Heather and anyone else going soon will report back to us:listen:

How was your DLR trip?

Cool. We also have to try and get over to ride the "new" ride. pixiedust:

I think it would be neat to not only ride during the day but at night!

I just saw on the RC thread, our Heather is in single digits:dance3: I can't wait for her pics!!! And like my Kook, she IS an early riser!!! YC CL is an awesome split! Best of both!!

I miss my Grandpa, thank you  and thank you to your DH as well!!!

A big Hello and  to TheLodgeLady and her DH who my hubby mentioned just now :lovestruc We are reminiscing over what a spectacular time we had at the Lodge!!!

A big hello back.

I can't believe you'll finally be at the OFC in less then 2 weeks! I can't recall if you've stayed at WL non-CL? The Lodge is very photogenic and so serene in the early morning:cloud9:. I can't wait for you to get there!

The final itinerary was revealed tonight around the dinner table ;) Only 5 pages long :rolleyes1 but not bad for a 12 day trip. This will be our 3rd WL stay but 1st time at the OFC. My parents have never been to the Lodge...so it's a first for them.

Heather, I can NEVER have enough pics from you!! 12 days :cool1: AWESOME!!! Are you doing FWC first?? :goodvibes

Hi there Pas  and ::yes::

No parks, though, while at FW...basically doing NOTHING but relaxing (I think...I don't relax well :upsidedow)

On behalf of Heather, yes, she is staying in a FWC cabin first. Then, she's throwing the kids and luggage onto the boat while she heads down the path from FW to WL with her camera. I suspect she'll be checking in to the OFC promptly at 0630 when the first pot of coffee is brewing...

How in the world did ya know???!!! :confused3 Did you take a sneak peek at my itinerary??

Heather LOVES taking lots of photos so you will be in OFC photo heaven when she posts her TR:cloud9:

Why yes I do :teeth: I might even post while I'm there :scratchin The TR is still up in the air...we'll see how motivated I am when we return from this adventure. As Scarlett says..."I'll think about that tomorrow." ;)

I would LOVE to see this itinerary, if it is available for viewing! LOL, I am currently working on (driving my DH crazy with) our trip itinerary. So much fun! :)

Could someone answer this...

What time in the morning do the boats start running from WL to MK? And do those boats from WL go to Contemporary Resort also? Or will we need to go to MK then take the monorail to CR? Thanks!

The boats to CR and FW start at 6:45 AM. The MK boats are separate and are tied to park opening times, starting about an hour before the park opens. So to get to CR it is a quick trip on the Blue Flag boat anytime after 6:45 AM.

Great! So just take the blue flag boat and it will take us from Wilderness Lodge to Contemporary Resot?

Yes. Generally there are Blue Flag boats running in both directions on Bay Lake. If it is going clockwise, CR is the first stop, while if it is going counter-clockwise, it goes to FW and then CR. If the first to arrive is headed to FW next you can hop on, but sometimes it is slightly quicker to wait for the next one if it is close and headed in the opposite direction. Either way though, the Blue Flag boats will get you there.

I've gotten behind here today and I can't multi-quote right now, but I love all the photos and great WL video link.

The boats start running at 6:45 and yes, you take the Blue Flag to CR. It's the boat on the right side of the dock as you approach. HERE is more transportation info. from the first page.
