Squiddy...what is your favorite DVC resort? We've talked and talked about buying but I don't know for sure where I'd want to buy. I think I'd like OKW or BW...but w/the possibility of CR being DVC... wow, that would be nice w/the monorail!! Plus... dh really likes SOG...decisions decisions!!

I started booking today for our December trip! 12 nights! We are at AKV for Christmas, then moving to Boardwalk (hopefully) for the New Years week.

I can't believe I will be going 14 months between trips, it is killing me!! But a long trip should be nice and relaxing.

Buying into DVC was the best thing we ever did!

Oh that is such a hard question. Really, you have to try them and see which one speaks to you. I am a goofball so I own at 4 of them. I love BCV in October when it is F&W. I love VWL for Christmas time. I love SSR for trips when my dd and I are not going to spend a lot of time in the parks and just want to relax and spend time together and swim. I love AKV because it was my very first deluxe that I ever stayed it so many years ago and I have always loved the ambiance there. Personally, I'm not so fond of BWV and OKW, but again, it is just personal choice. Surprisingly I don't think I will add on at CRV because I think when it finally opens it is going to be more costly and I'd just rather add on at AKV again.

Oh yes...we stayed 12 nights this last trip. It is so nice to take your time and soak it all in It'll be well worth the wait. If you're like us...you'll end up squeezing another trip in anyway

that sounds like what I'd like to do too... buy at the different locations you really like. I like the layout of the 1 bdrm at OKW, from pics I've seen. I think you're right... need to just go check them out!!! I told dh...we need to just say forget it and MOVE there!

You are right though about soaking it all in, I will be doing that. As the crowds getting heavier, we will spend time doing other things instead of the parks. We hit the parks before opening, so will do that each morning most likely then get the heck out of there when it gets bad and will go do other things.

I am well thanks. Preparing for and looking forward to a May trip. Still seems so far away though since there is too much to be done in between (outside of trip planning I mean )

OH I KNOW! Also the ones that are stalking the people with dryers just waiting to pounce on the next open one! It made me laugh!

This happened to us last night. I thought 2 chicks were gonna start brawling right there trying to get my dryer. So I put 10 more minutes on it and said sorry not dry yet.

I think that 14 months between trips would kill me! The one problem with DVC is that once you own there you end up buying the annual pass because of the discount we get. Then you get add-on-itis (I got it 5 times in 2007, I was a very sick girl!) The you sit there and say, well I have my accommodations and I have annual pass, all it is going to cost is the food and I have to eat anyway so whoo hoo, here I come again!

4-5 x's a yr!! omg I'd be in heaven! That would be so much fun! I can't get away w/trips w/o dh and ds6...dh is retired and I can't imagine going w/o Kenny...he'd never forgive me but I've still thought about it
That is exactly what we did. We went 14-26...and the crowds didn't go crazy til the 22nd too bad. We'd get there before opening and do a lot early. leave earlier when we'd had enough to go relax. several nights we'd watch wishes from the beach right out our door at the poly. that was really nice. Christmas day we were at MK at opening and we did like 7 or 8 things in the first hour! there was hardly anyone there..but by 9...it really started pouring in. We left around 11:30 and went for a swim in the volcano pool. Kenny loved that! It sounds like you have a perfect plan!!!

That is exactly how I'd get! we can get discounted ap's through SOG too...but you're right, I'd want to be going even worse. That is hard to imagine I've gotten dh to agree to 3 weeks a year, but he says all in one trip I think it should be split in at least 2 trips! You know how it is... he prefers to drive, I'd rather fly.. he says one trip, I say split it up..so I'll have to keep working on him. Plus I love DCL..and w/the new ships coming..that's killing me too and then there is the Hawaii addition!!! I was looking at just buying a vacation home down there..... guess we'll see. I think we should just go stay at the different choices and see what fits us best. FL res. discounts would be nice too!!! wow, you were a very sick girl last year

Yep, staying at AKL. For me, animals are not really my thing, but Squid convinced me that it will be fabulous; plus it's concierge, so who can pass that up? I have seen the 2 BR models of the AKL villas and they are gorgeous, so I am really looking forward to it!

Squid - That's how I'd be with DVC and/or an annual pass. I'd want to be there all the time. Well I do now but that would make it easier.

Bon - We are staying at a house in Davenport. So far it's MIL and FIL, my mom, possibly my aunt, myself and DH. Our niece and nephew who live in Orlando will join us on weekends. My MIL can't leave her dog and with that many people the house thing worked better for us.
