City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

the show in america has always been one of my favorites, the pics in the dark turned out really good, what did you use to steady the camera in there?

But there weren't any vices to be seen during their show. Much to my chagrin. They couldn't be more wholesome.
Curse them!!!

She said, "You could call it 'Within these hallowed stalls!' If only we had a bathroom story." Yes Marlene, if only. ....By the way, you're going to make a great trip report writer someday.
Wow. I'm scared for her that she is thinking so much like you.

Too bad there isn't a bathroom story though. Those just write themselves. :lmao::rotfl2:

One good thing about the schedule of the Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps is that right after they finish, you can go in and catch the Voices of Liberty, which is what we did, of course.
Back to back patriotic music. If that ain't Amurrica, I don't know what is.:thumbsup2

You can see Marlene on the bench on the right side of the picture below. She told me later that she was photobombing somebody who was taking pictures across from her. So I guess that was the vice that was occurring during this performance.
You should be proud! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I think that Judy is telling the singer, "Perry here, is our favorite son. The middle kid is pretty good, when she's not photobombing people. And the oldest has an invisible Celebration button!"
 I'm impressed! Your ability to reconstruct that conversation from a picture alone just blows me away. :rolleyes1

Then there was quite a bit of video bringing the audience through the major events of the latter-half of the twentieth century and to the present day. I noticed that Walter Cronkite appeared during the lunar landing clip, and I wondered if he's the only person who appears in two places in Epcot (Spaceship Earth being the other).
Hmmm... I've never thought about it. Ellen didn't show up in there did she? :confused3 You might be on to something. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Great update, Glenn. Would you believe we've never seen the Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps. :confused3 Love Voices of Liberty and can't wait to see that this weekend.

Try not to do too many updates while I'm gone so I don't have so much to catch up on. The pace you are going right now is good. :thumbsup2

Nice update! You got some great shots of the Fife and Drum Corps, and I agree those kids are just too cute! :goodvibes

Love the Voices of Liberty. They are just so talented, and so inspiring!

Impeccable timing as usual! I just knew you were due to post an update! We had some very severe storms roll through yesterday, and once the satellite signal started going out on the TV, and with all the lightning in the area, I shut down everything including the surge protectors! :scared1: (a little overkill maybe?) :rolleyes2

When I finally got around to powering everything back up, and rebooting the computer, it was too late to even venture a guess......... :(

Congrats to my favorite, Magdalene!

So does this make Rosie the bridesmaid this time? I hate to even think about that possibility! Would we end up with pictures of Rosie lap dancing the Father of the Bride, or would she just photobomb a pic of the Bride and Groom and just plop down in the poor Groom's lap??? :faint:

With your eyes Rosie, I'm guessing you would need something much, much stronger!!! :lmao:

:rotfl:

I was thinking one of those telescopes for outer space !!! Then I thought Marv would have some comment about me being there :rotfl2::rotfl2:

You were Amish for a couple of hours.
Niiiiice......... :lmao:

What good sportsmanship.
Well, it IS easier when you have a huge lead! ;)

But just let someone start to narrow down that margin a little........... :darth:

I guess she's the bridesmaid this round :bride: and Pat is the flower girl. :flower3:
:rotfl2:

Rosie, it's getting increasingly harder to come up with the wisecracks when you spoil them before I get a chance......... :headache:

That is one attraction I have still never done. I have however heard the song on the 4 Parks One World CD about a bazillion times. Enjoyed the video! Love hearing Voices of Liberty. Both the music and the attraction are on the list for next time though.

We have an official booking July 4 week 2014....Yes, I think we're crazy too.

Oh man, you're right! I struggled with how to put that down at the keyboard. You nailed it. Well, at least I know that you were saying it in your head how I was trying to convey it. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: We had Bandit in an American-flag printed scarf a few years ago over the 4th. My brother commented with 'MURICA on Facebook. So I had a little help ;)

Hello again! I've finally caught up - when I last was reading your report we were still in the 'City' - so that was quite a lot to go through! But it all sounds like a fantastic trip and I can't wait for more! popcorn::

I love the American Adventure show! The video montage is so moving. :) Those Fife and Drum guys must have been melting from the heat!

Another great update! More awesome photography as always. That blurred photo does give a good sign of the frenetic movements going on too.

Even though I hail from across the pond (I say chap!) I always like to catch the drummers outside, fascinating to watch, and I always look at the flags on the wall of the dining area there, always interested in a good flag. Though I must confess to having never seen the American adventure show, ill have to consider doing that if I can tear myself away from the stores for a few minutes :p

I thought the meet n greet they did was very good too, a nice touch.

And I too can understand the lure of AC and a comfy seat after a while trekking in the midday sun, I've been guilty of a little head noddin' more than once on rides like Universe of Energy! ;)

LOL she was photobombing someone during “Voices of Liberty”. That is funny.
I love going in there and hearing them and seeing the show.
Great update and pics

I think the only things we've ever done in the American Experience pavilion are watch the drum and fife corps and get the kids chicken nuggets to eat! :sad2: I think I'll put that one on the list to see this December when it's just DH and I. The video was great!

The Biergarten was the only restaurant available when we looked into getting a Candelight Processional package for our trip, but we ended up not booking it (DH isn't a fan of German food). It's not like I imagined it would be, though. Looks like fun!

Hey Glennbo123! Yep, I'm still here... you haven't lost your mexican audience ... yet! Hehehe!

Awesome pic! It really shows who's the boss :)

LOL! I always take pictures of those signs, usually with no one or anything else in the picture, and when someone asks I say "Just following instructions." :rotfl2:
:lmao:

OK, OK, I know I'm a little behind, but I'm catching up. Probably not fast enough to catch a Judy sighting before Marv, but I'm getting there. Only 26 pages behind! :surfweb: And I will be caught up before my trip in 5 weeks!

Like our last trip when I wanted to make sure that Judy

got to hear them, I was glad that my parents were able to hear them this time.

IMG_6691.jpg

I need to make sure my mom sees them while we are there

I didn't take pictures of the portion that includes the song, "Two Brothers", telling of a family split by the Civil War, but that was a poignant segment.

I love that segment, though it's heartbreaking.

Really love the entire experience, thanks for all the wonderful pictures!!! makes me really want to make sure I make it there again next trip, it's been a bit.

I've been lurking for a while on here. I have read up on all your trip reports and really enjoyed them. Keep it coming.

Just checkin' in !!! Seeing if Marv is waiting to strike with being first on the Judy sightings !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Well, ..............I wasn't.

Wow, talk about hitting the proverbial DISground running at a full out sprint!!! :scared:

Amurrica... sounds like 'Merica lol Same thing I guess just different phonetic spellings. By far, my favorite chapter title on this trip report thus far, maybe of all-time. I don't know, I've been through so many at this point hehe

Love the Voices of Liberty! I think one of the girls was there when I last saw them and that wasssssssss... over three years ago now, WOW! I know my sisters got a photo with one of them that time, wish I stuck around for that. :/ And I actually sang "Shenandoah" this year with my high school concert choir. The Voices of Liberty are MUCH better than us, they are just too good for us haha

I feel like such a fail of a DISer for not having seen the American Adventure show. It looks wonderful! I might have to make it a point to stop there during my next visit. I can get really into that stuff when I let myself ;)

Can't wait to see those "lovey-dovey mushy photopass pictures"! :teeth: :mickeyjum
