Yes, I know these are very different and it depends on what I want to eat. Well, if it wasn't for these gosh darn ADR's, I could decide the same day I will actually eat. But I can't. I have to decide now. So, for those who have been to at least two of these, which would you choose?

Thanks for your help!

We ate at all 3 last month. :)
We had absolutely incredible food AND service at Flying Fish and Yachtsman. Really, really outstanding. We will definitely do both when we go back next year. If you are more of a seafood person I would go for Flying Fish, for steak go for Yachtsman.

We ate at Yachtsman in 2005 and didn't like it AT ALL. It was tricky to convince DH to try it again, but we are very happy that we gave it another chance!

Citrico's was fine. We went there for my birthday dinner. The food was good, the service was good, it just didn't blow me away like the service at the other 2. We went to Citrico's last year and for some reason it just wasn't quite as terrific this year as I was remembering. Last year we went with friends, and this year it was just the 3 of us, so maybe that was why it wasn't as much fun. :confused3 They did a custom menu for me, as well as putting "Happy Birthday" on my dessert plate, so they did do some special little things. If I wasn't comparing it to FF and Yachtsman I would probably be raving about how great it was, if that makes sense.

DH and I recently had a truly horrendous meal at Citrico's. All courses were poorly prepared, came out tasting as if they had been made hours ago then barely re-warmed under a lamp, flavors were over-salted and very blah, service was ridiculously bad even with the restaurant half empty, and I could go on...

I'm sure that many will say it was an off night, but to be this off, even once, is 100% too many times for a restaurant of supposedly decent caliber...really, it would have been bad for a Ponderosa. I would never take a chance there again.

Short story...anything but Citrico's! I ate at Flying Fish many years ago and it was good, not outstanding, but definitely good. Never been to the Yachtsman. Enjoy either one!

I know a lot of people love Yachtsman, sorry we don't. My family raised beef for a living and Yachtsman has some of the worst steak and worst restaurant service we have had on disney property.

On the other hand...Flying Fish is one of our top restaurants to eat at, and honestly, they have one of the best steaks on Disney property.

We ate at both YS and Citricos last month. Between these two,for us, the winner was definitely Citricos.

We had terrible service at YS. In fact, it was the worst I've ever experienced on Disney property at a signature restaurant! Also, the restaurant was SUPER NOISY that night. I know some people complain about CG being noisy, but this was by far the loudest, most unrelaxing meal at a "nice" restaurant on property that we have ever experienced. Now, I do have to say that the steak we ate that night was very good, but that was the only nice thing I could say about our evenig there.

Citricos was very good. Our server was very attentive, and the food was delicious. The evening was very nice and relaxed.

We also ate at Jiko and California Grill that week. CG was my favorite that week, probably followed by Jiko, then Citricos. I don't plan on returning to YS, though.

As you see, there are a lot of conflicting reports about all three. I think the general consensus is that the majority of the people I've seen post about these places give them all favorable reviews. I haven't seen anyone consistently post that it's always bad.

I happen to like all three places. I think I wouldn't truly write a restaurant off my list unless I get a bad meal twice. I know this makes things difficult, but I think you really can't go wrong with any of them.

We were sadly underwhelmed by the FF entrees and desserts last week. Appies - cheese plate and calamari - were excellent. OTOH, Citricos was a great experience all around. Service was great at both.

We've never gone to Yachtsman's. Steak isn't our thing.

I've dined at all three. FF and Citrico's were excellent in terms of food quality and service. Yachtsman was good but it's not one of those places that I would consider a must-do on a future trip. My only disappointment with Citrico's was my dessert...what was I thinking when I ordered a no-sugar added dessert??? The Study in Strawberries at FF more than made up for it though!

So far the voting won't help make the decision any easier!!
We've been to all 3 places many times and all are fine spots. I picked Citrico's because I think it has the best food and a quiet (for WDW anyway) ambiance. Plus I love their Veal Shank!

Thank you all for your responses. It looks like we may be giving Citricos a try as it is the only one of the three we have not been to.

I didn;t vote because I have only eaten at YSH and the food was good, the service was ok, I would go back there again. I hope Citricos is good, I'll be eating there on Dec 23.

Uncleromulus, did you see on Deb's that the shank is up to $46 now? Yikes!

From Debs:
Braised Veal Shank - Carrot-Potato Puree, Roasted Vegetables, and Toasted Citrus Gremoloda $46.00

OUCH!!
THat seems a tad high. For that price. it had better be an awfully large (by weight) shank.
Not too long ago in a place in Baltimore (Pazza Luna, now out of business) the veal shank went for $48.00--but it was a huge serving, so that made it a bit more worth it.

I'm glad to see Citricos getting positive reviews later in the thread. I was starting to wonder about it. ;) We choose it, because it's supposed to give a nicer fine dining experience overall. Less noise is a big plus in our book.

The only bad thing I could think of at Citricos was that our server never refilled our drinks which was odd :confused3 Other than that, the meal was absolutely superb! Great atmosphere (Yes, very quiet) with even better food! :thumbsup2

Geez, Kathy, that's a part of the equation you forgot to mention that would have swayed me to actually vote instead of abstaining!

I would have definitely said to try Citrico's since it's going to be your "new to me" restaurant this trip. I always try doing a "new to me" place, but it's so hard because I find myself wanting to go back to all the places I enjoy. My "new to me" place in a few weeks will be Todd English's bluezoo™.
