Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

I hope I don't step on any toes by telling you this, but the company is, "The Cruising Co" associated with Mouse Ear Vacations. I used them for a trip to DL at the last minute one time and it turned out pretty well. This time my agent has had some personal family problems, so she hasn't been very attentive to answering questions or getting back to me. Although she wasn't real fast the first time either. We communicate exclusively through email at her request! When I tried to ask for phone communication she got testy about how it is much easier to use the computer.

I can say she has found some good deals for us, but it is hard to consistently wait for answers to questions for several days.

Personally, I probably won't use her again after all I have learned on this web site. I did not remember very much about WDW since my last trip was for my honeymoon 12 years ago, so I thought it would be best to go with an agent who knew the ins and outs. I found out I actually knew more than her about the Pop Century due to the great thread right here! I actually decided to call myself on the Character breakfast at 1900 Park Faire and had no problem getting a PS for what I wanted. Incidentally, I am still waiting for a return email from that request to her 4 days ago!

Hope that helps, I don't want to bad mouth anyone but this is my experience.

I have a question. If you are put on hold before talking to anyone, should you stay on hold, hang up and try again, or is it just too late at that point?

Oh man! I was on hold, then got disconnected! Looks like I'll have to try again tomorrow.:(
Tried again to see what would happen, and got disconnected again.

stay on hold otherwise you go to the end of the callers line once you call again; and no, it is jot too late once on hold; some people make their PS real fast and then you can get in and make yours;

:Pinkbounc My husband and I started calling about 6:57 this morning and we got in around 6:59, but were on hold for over 10 minutes. When I got on the line with a cm, she told me that Cindy's was sold out for May 5th, but just a minute later when my husband got through, he got reservations! We were really lucky!

Does anyone know how it is possible that someone cancelled their reservation so quickly when we were both on hold the entire time? The only thing I can imagine is that someone had several lines going and got in quickly, then used the other line they were on hold with to cancel. I saw a post one time that said a wife and husband were both trying at the same time, the husband got into the hold system first, but the wife ended up talking to a cm first. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas! Thanks!

:confused: since i booked my CB at cindys for my trip last sept. the phone automaiton has changed!!

When you call it takes you through a whole system of automated questions before it puts you on hold!!! :mad:

I called several times try to get the system of numbers but if you press 1 quickly then wait for the start of the next question and press 1 quickly agian it puts you to hold

The 1 minute of Automated questions is going to put you past the time frame to get that ressie!

it never hurst to call and practice trying to get through! trust me those seconds make a differance! ::yes::

we got ours for 5/4 9:40 party of four, after 2 days striking out!

cant wait to go! :hyper:

When I finally got through without getting disconnected, all seatings were booked, of course! I think I've talked my sister into calling tomorrow too, so we'll have a little better luck, I hope! Now, if I could just talk my mom and brother into helping out, we might actually get in! Thanks for all the advice everyone!

I called right at 7:00am on Tuesday but I wasn't expecting all those prompts. By time they answered, sold out. Yesterday, I started calling at 6:58, office closed, then got on hold at 7:00, all they had left was 8:05 which is too early for us. Today, I did the same thing but was on hold only a couple minutes, got the 10:00am we wanted for 5/5! :Pinkbounc

Who would have thought that eating with a princess would be so difficult to do!! UGGH! Another day, another al booked up. Got a snotty CM this time too! I guess I'll set that alarm early tomorrow too. :(

You can do it!!! Believe me - year after year I felt the same as you. This year - it worked - I got the 8:50 slot.

You have to start calling at 6:55 - and keep hitting re-dial as soon as you hear him say "Thank you for calling Disney dining - our office is closed....".

When you get through - you'll probably get the message that says - "We are experiencing high call volumes."

As soon as he finishing saying that - press 1, 2, 1, 1 and you will immediately be put into que....

From there - just cross your fingers and wish upon a star!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Good luck!!

Thanks for the encouragement! It has always been a dream of mine to eat in the Castle. I probably want this way more than my kids do! They would be happy with the Chef Mickey reservations I allready have. We are going to be renting a house with my brother, sister and my parents (plus my neices) for a week, then they are going home, and we are staying an extra week. Tomorrow will be the last day to make the PS for them too. I guess I still have next week for us, but it just won't be the same without the rest of the family!

teresajoy, if you want to eat at Cindys check your Private Messages ;)

some interesting info that i found out this morning which may or not have something to do with all the gathering stuff; i always knew that Cindys breakfast had some 6 top tables but they also have 1 12 top for large parties to be together so if you are lucky you dont have to be split up anymore;

YEP, she was excited! Much jumping up and down and yelling YEEHAH YEEHAH!!!

Yesterday, when I told her that I didn't think we'd be able to get in, she told me that she would call, and tell them how much she wanted to eat with Cinderella, and "That ought to do the trick!"

I am so glad you did!!!! Yaaaayyyyyyyy :hyper: I only WISH I could get this for my dd's 5th Birthday celebration! :( Unfortunately though, we have been tossing this trip together at last minute and there is simply no way for us to get it for this trip! :( We have done it in the past and my soon to be 5 yo does not remember it other than watching the video (she was not even 3 at the time). Our older dd's remember it well and I just wish that I had booked our trip sooner so that I would have had time to do Cindy's Bkfst! :::sigh::: I have been trying, but it just doesnt seem to be in the works for us.

May 7 happens to be my daughter's 6th birthday too. I don't celebrate birthday's, but my husband and the kids do, so she was extra excited!::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo

Thank you all so much for the advice and tips. I was put on hold this morning at 6:59am and by 7:03am we had a reservation for 5 for 10am on Mother's Day morning.
I think the key was knowing what prompts to push in order to save yourself some time. (1,2,1,1)

Thanks again! :bounce:

Just wanted to brag because we're going to have Mother's Day Breakfast with the entire family at Cindy's at 8:15 am. We had three phones working and got the reservation at 7:01. First day for booking priority seatings and we got the hard one right off the bat. The rest of the planning is all down hill. I can't take it anymore I need to be in Disney World

I've just seen this thread and I had no problem booking Cindys following the regime and calling 90 days out.
In my first call I was on hold for 29 minutes!...but still bagged a reservation. I later cancelled that when I rang for the *exact* day we wanted and picked 9.00. I had a choice of times. Perhaps we are going at a quiet tme of year? Early March.

Here in the UK we have the disadvantage of a pricey call, but the advantage of ringing at lunchtime!
