Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

I called and I told the CM I was speaking with that I had a reservation for CRT lunch and could I get 20% of what I had already paid credited back to my card since I have the DDE. The CM said sure and that it should show up in 2-3 billing cycles. I just had to give my confirmation number so he could pull the reservation up. It seems pretty strange though, I mean are they going to ask for my card at the restaurant too? Otherwise wouldn't everyone just say they have a DDE card? I'll see if it gets credited back.

I have 10:20 Breakfast reservations on April 19th. I have called 2x's to get credit for the DDE card. The first CM didn't have a clue about the second one told me that I would need to present the card at the CRT and they would credit my card. Is it possible to get credit before arrival?

I was told by the DDE folks that as of the new CRT meal pricing/photo package implementation on 2/1, that the DDE discount would no longer be available.

They're trying to resolve this issue, but I don't hold out much hope.

Our last CRT breakfast experience was on Jan. 28, and we had a wonderful time! The price structure was the old ($23.99) price- the DDE discount was available, and we don't plan on going again until they get more reasonable.

I have a feeling that we enjoyed our 'last' breakfast with the castle crowd! It was a great way to go though-

Okay, I called back and talked to someone who knew what they were doing. I only got $21.09 credited back because that was the 20% discount on the food and beverage portion. The photo package obviously isn't eligible for the discount. It all makes sense now!

I am taking my daughter to WDW to celebrate her 5th birthday. I would like to take her to CRT but I am wondering which meal would be the best. Also does anyone know if it is possible to bring a small cake so that we can celebrate her birthday or is that not allowed? :confused3

I would think breakfast or lunch would be better, that is when the princesses circulate. It is my understanding that you will not see princesses at dinner. Then I would just pick based on what time of the day my child would do better. For me I would take my daughter to breakfast, she is usually cranky by lunch time and needs to head back to the resort.

No you can't bring a small cake, but it says on the official Disney website that they can make cakes for you with 48 hours notice - no idea on the price, I am sure it is expensive knowing Disney!

We had a group breakfast at CRT one time on my sis and DBIL's wedding anniversary. The wait staff and princesses pulled some quick strings and made them feel FABULOUS! Make sure to tell them it's a special day for your little one!

I always get confused when trying to count down the days to call and get ressies. I am trying to plug in important dates in my daytimer and apologize for getting so far ahead. But, I need breakfast for a b-day on July 24th, 2007. What day do I need to call?

Thanks in Advance!

Just found out this morning called for ps for crt 180 days out something new disney is doing is if you are a resort guest you can book up to 10 days into your vacation as long as you have your resort confirmation code this is great I think because I was able to book everything on one day rather than calling all this week.

Oh btw I did get the time and date I wanted for crt 8:10am on 8\13\06
 :woohoo: :dancer:

Can someone tell me in simple terms what are the differences between the CRT breakfast, lunch and dinner? I don't mean the food, I mean, what happens that is different? Thanks. :)

Also, does anyone know if they accommodate vegetarians. I believe the meals are pre-plated so, at breakfast, will we get a plate each half full of meat that we don't need? Sorry, just a bit confused on this.

Terribly sorry if this has been answered already in the past 193 pages lol .. but...

If we are going to use our Dining Plan credits (2 credits each I know) for Cindy's Breakfast, will they still charge the full amount on to a credit card? Do we need to bring the credit card with us to the meal in order to check in? We don't use or own credit cards so I'm trying to figure out how to still get a reservation.

The policy now is you must have a CC whether on the dining plan or not. If you are not on the dining plan, they charge the meal, plus taxes and tips in full at time of reservation. If you are on the dining plan then they take your CC and keep it on file for no shows. YOu have 24 hours to cancel so as not to get charged a fee.

Have them make a note on your ADR that it is your DD bday - they decorate the table with mickey confetti and a streamer down the middle, and they include a very moist small chocolate cake with white icing and confetti sprinkles - at breakfast - dd loved it - I ordered a cake later that evening for our LTT ressie, it was horrible - it had been previously frozen so the icing was bad, they dont add names, and they dont do candles!! It is more than enough to have the cake they give to you, we found the whole Disney so overwhelming I cant imagine doing more!! :) :) :)

Hi Ladies,

I've been reading through these posts and have a couple of questions. I tried to hit the "tips" link on how to score a CRT reservation but it was a dead link, so forgive me if my question has been asked a million times already.

We're going to WDW in March, and prior to reading all of this and trying to book, I had no idea that you had to reserve so early! I got dinner reservations but now see that the princesses aren't at the dinner (except maybe Cindy, who is only there for the photo.)

I read a few things about calling in first thing in the morning to get reservations. So, am I correct that if I start calling the main dining reservations line at 6:55am and keep hitting redial, I'll hopefully catch the first available agent, and possibly get a breakfast or lunch reservation, even this close to the trip? Why is that? And, does it happen often? Should I keep calling every morning before we go to try to get in or does it work best closer to the actual dates? I'm just a little confused as to "why" that works!?!?

And, can someone please tell me what CM stands for?

TIA,
Laura

Having eaten in the castle perhaps five times (breakfast three, lunch two) and always luckily encountering at least Cinderella, I can appreciate the thrill of being there. However, I have no desire to go after my last breakfast experience. It was entirely too expensive for a family to be given pre-plated food which we barely touched. Why anyone would want to eat a plate of fried everything -- eggs, sausage, whatever, YUCK! -- then go into the park is beyond me. Very, very poor choice of food. I might be more tempted to try to catch one of the princesses downstairs and skip that costly, heavy meal........

Every.. and I say every WDW restaurant displays a menu... And If not, then ask!!! If you are not smart enough to check it before you make reservations, THATS YOUR FAULT NOT DISNEYS!! If you are so concerned about your dietary needs then your are even more at fault... if it's so important to you about what you eat... then I guess you need to find a fruit stand somehwere before you go into the park... This is why I hardly ever go on these boards anymore.. Im tired of people like you blaming Disney for your own bad judgement... Must people like what they serve.. YUCK TO YOU.... :headache:

Hi Laura.

The strategy of calling at 6.55 and hitting redial etc. is beneficial and advisable to people who are exactly 180 days away from the day they want their CRT breakfast reservation so that they are getting in there at the earliest possible opportunity. From what I've read, pressing redial and bypassing certain parts of the Disney recording saves precious seconds in the race to get the booking because apparently it is so difficult to get (or at least it was) that while you're 'wasting' time waiting for the recording to finish or re-dialing manually a hundred other people are through to Disney and securing their reservations. But in your case, you're already well past your 180 day mark, so I think you should just call them up a.s.a.p. at whatever time of day (6.55 if you want but it's certainly not as beneficial to you now). I hear that the breakfast isn't as difficult to secure these days because of the lunch and dinner availability so perhaps you'll get lucky or perhaps you could secure a lunch reservation. If not, I'm sure the experience of being in the castle will be wonderful anyway. I'm still debating whether to go there or not, it's soooo expensive! Good luck and I hope you get what you want. :)

By the way CM stands for Cast Member i.e. a member of Disney staff.

Tour Guide Mike gives you exact instructions on how to get through on the lines. It was worth subscribing just to get CRT for my DD5. We'll be there next week. I called 90 days ahead and had no problems getting it for breakfast. It took less than 1 minute to get a live person on the phone with TGM's tips. I felt like I won the lottery. I had to ask the Cast Member to repeat everything because I almost could not believe I got it.

Lolli0501 - sorry but I don't think calling that early in the am just one month from your date will get you anything at CRT for breakfast and lunch. That method only works 180 days prior when the reservations for that date first "open" in the Disney computer system. At this point, you can call daily and beg to see if anyone has cancelled their reservation that you could pick up; since your credit card is charged in full for this meal at the time reservations are made, people will be more likely to call ahead to cancel their reservation. Sometimes you can catch people on this board who are cancelling and then coordinate with them to pick up their reservations. (Say they call 407-WDW-DINE at 2:14pm to cancel and you call at 2:15pm to make a reservation.) Have you tried getting reservations for the Princess meals at Norway in Epcot? I have heard great things about that meal as well.

CM typically stands for Cast Member.

I called a little over a week ago to make our ADR's, it was mid day and jokingly I just said "I know I am wasting my time but any Breakfast's with Cindy during our stay in June?" We were able to choose from several days, and times. I was SHOCKED! So I selected this for our last day.
I think now that it takes either 2 of your TS meals on a dinning plan or you have to prepay...not just the deposit anymore, and the cost went up since your now getting a picture package...it is scareing alot of people away! It is something we have never done with all the times we have been there and even tho my DD12, and DS6, aren't interested in eating with Cindy herself...they think it is great that we are going to eat in the castle!

Does anyone know about the pictures? I am sure it is digital, like with the potopass...but do you get to approve the pic yourself or do they? I would hate to think I was getting stuck with a pic package that we didn't like?!

I think your question about calling at 6:55 only working when your calling exactly on the 180 day out date...But If you read my other post you will see that I called well into my 180 days and still was able to get breakfast with Cindy...and I was even given my choice of times and days. Keep calling, someone may cancel, and you can snnek right on in there. Make sure your ready to pay for this when you call though.

Not sure if anyone answered your other question tho...CM stands for Cast Member. Every Disney employee is considered a CM.

Good luck to ya!
