Christmas Shopping 2010

Just read that review. Sounds a lot like the zhu zhu reviews. My kids still like the hamsters even though they are not perfect.
Speaking of zhu zhus...Justice has them 50% off and I have another 40% coupon I can use. Does anyone know if the kung zhu hamsters work in the regular playset and vice versa?

My DD7 just got her zhu zhus for her bday in July (Santa failed to come through for Christmas last year ;)). Anyway, she LOVES them. I have bought a bunch of add of stuff for her for Cmas and those will be the only "junky" toys she gets. The Wii is her (and DH's) big gift. Our zhu zhu's seem to work just fine?

I believe all the "zhus" are interchangable. We've not had any issues with any of them. I got my nephew a bunch of Kung Zhu stuff for Cmas when Toys R Us was having a buy 2 get 1 free sale!

I don't know if they are compatible or not but I wanted to say Thanks! for the heads up about the sale at Justice. I have some of those 40% coupons floating around and my kids love the zhu zhus.

DS14 really wants to start playing the drums. I really hope we'll be able to get him a set by Christmas. DS16 is in a jazz guitar program in high school and that is pretty much his world, so I imagine he will be wanting something related to that... We'll have to see what it is closer to Christmas, though. Both of them always want music and money. Our family, too, goes to WDW at Thanksgiving time so it would sure be nice to have this all wrapped up before then. Not sure about the grown children. Grandchildren...probably gifts in WDW...afterall, we are bringing them with us for the first time. I need to get the Hallmark ornaments paid off before December, too! I put quite a few Disney ones (and a couple Peanuts as well) on layaway! DH and I will consider our trip home to BLT our Christmas gift and probably get another ornament or two from the German pavilion. It's been a rough year, so just being able to take the trip without any complications will be a gift in and of itself. :santa:

Ok, so the WowWee Fin Fin things sound cute. My kids just love all that cute little stuff. This year's going to be the easiest to buy for them. They want all these cute little character things coming out.

I am going out christmas shopping tomorrow morning, i'm very excited, although it does feel odd because we are in a heat wave. Today I believe is going to be 95. It's been in the mid 90s since sunday. We'll get our break from the heat after we get all of the effects from Hurricane Earl on Friday. Not that i'm looking forward to that :scared1: I never start my shopping this early, so it's funny that i'll be sweating my rear end off bringing my bags to the truck  That's ok, super excited to get a good start!

What state are you in? My best friend is in Maryland..she is hoping for wind and rain...it's been too hot to take the baby outside and they are stir crazy! LOL

I think that's a wonderful gift to get!! Spendin some time at the World!! Hope the year just gets better for y'all!

I really need to nail down a shoppinng list but I have bought a few things mostly for DS(10). He is so into Club Penguin right now. Bought him a few things from the Disney Store online...a bunch of penguins that he doesn't have already, a water bottle (on sale for $4.99) and a few of the plush penguins that they had on sale. I also ordered him this really cool Super Mario Bros. Yahtzee game...he loves Mario and likes to play board games. Which reminds me I still need to pick up his Club Penguin Wii game and decide whether or not to get him the other DS game that game out. Still stumped on his big gift though. He said that he wants to build things but I am thinking that more Lego stuff isn't what he wants unless I talk DH into getting him the motorized set they have.

DS(8) wants an electric guitar so it looks like that will be his big gift this year becuase DH wants to get him an amp and some other things to go with it. Got him a few Club Penguins for his stocking and will probably get him the video game he wants and some Legos.

DD(6) has decided that she wants Bitty Baby Twins this year. She got her first American Girl Doll last year but wants the twins. Gotta order them and figure out what else to get her. She is into Scooby-Doo, Super heros right now so who knows.

I did buy a few Power Rangers toys for my nephew last week so he is almost finished. Still have no clue what to get for his sister...she is 10 and according to my sister very hard to shop for. Last year we gave her a gift card to Barnes and Nobles since she wanted some new books but my sister doesn't think that she wants that this year. So I may have to wait until I absolutely have to ship her package to get DN something. I will most likely send my sister a gift card even though she is expecting nothing from us this year. (We split the cost of airline tickets with Grandma from my sister and her 2 kids to come see us in April and she told us that it would count as her birthday and Christmas gifts for the next 3 years. LOL)

I am hoping I can join in with you guys! I usually start my shopping by now but since we just had a Disney trip about a month ago, all my efforts were on that.. Now it is time to get started..

I have a DD5.. The issue with her is that her Bday is December 10..Well I guess it is not really an issue cause I just buy stuff and then pull a couple things out for her Beday:rotfl: I don't even have a list for her. .I can't think of one thing she needs besided clothes(she wears uniforms)
She has a DS and she HAD a leapster but she got water in it and now it won't work.
I liked the Leapster because it seemed like it had more learning games on it..but I don't know if it would be a good idea to replace it since she has her DS??

Any one know of any good learning games on the DS??

She is into all things girly and the Disney princess..
The only thing that is def. on her list is The AA Holiday Barbie, I get her one every year since she was born for her collection.

I have two nephews to buy for ages 8 and 5

Now my parents... My mom's bday is ON Christmas and my Dad's is the 27th!!!! They are both very hard people to buy for because they never know what they want!!LOL

My DH.. I will prob. get him something for his Playstation 3 or DJ Hero for the Wii and some colgne!!

Hey Shawna, I am right up there on the East coast too! We are too, looking for a break from the insane heat. It's still going to be in the 90s tomorrow until the wind and rain come in. The rest of the week is looking to be around 80. Perfect! I am enjoying our last few days in the pool though! We've had our ACs running constantly for the past week. Well, I do shut them off sometime in the middle of the night but they have to go back on when we wake up!

Ok, so I started my Christmas shopping today. Sweating and all! :rotfl: I bought my 3 girls Zoobles 2 packs. I'm going to get my 6 and 9 yr old the treehouse playset and the under the sea set. My 11 yr old just wants the figures, not the playsets.
I bought my dd9 the Squinkies gumball surprise playset, it comes with 9 squinkies. I bought my dd6 the cupcake surprise squinkies playset, also comes with 9 squinkies. I bought my dd11 the 16 pack of Squinkies.

I'm very excited to have started, although even buying all those toys, I didn't feel like I was Christmas shopping. It's too hot. We have so many family bdays during the summer that I thought i was shopping for that

The Squinkies and Zoobles are very limited in the stores. I went to Walmart and I got 2-2pack zoobles and that only left 3. I was there last week and there were just a few. I bought the Squinkies 16 pk and the cupcake playset, but the gumball playset was not there. I went to another walmart and they had pretty much nothing. I then went to toys r us and luckily they had 1 gumball playset, no cupcake ones. All of the squinkies toys were 25% off too! I saved $5 on that gumball set. It was 22.99 there. They are 19.99 at walmart.
If anyone's planning on buying these, I would get them sooner than later. Just in case they end up being hard to find, which it seems like they might. They are already way overpriced on amazon.

I got the girls each the Frenzie fur real pet carrier that comes with a pet. My mom bought them each the wheel and the big playset for Christamas.

This week I was going to get them the Littlest Pet shop rescue center. I found it for 30.00. But since we are leaving in a few weeks. I may wait to get that until I get home.

So far I have
DD 5
Zambi Fur real elephant
Winter LPS set
LPS Triplets
LPS big pack
Frenzie fur real carrier
Frenzie dog with black spots
LPS stamp and color activity book

DD 2
Zambi

Also some puzzle, books and craft stuff. They love the felt books with the bendy pens.

Well...it had cooled off here a bit..then dang! I don't know what, buts its HOT today!!!! Like--bust out sweating-n-the-parking-lot-hot....I hate that! Our salt level got low, and then it's been hot, so our pool water is a bit GREEN right now!! ha!!! Gotta fix it so kids can swim some before the season ends!!!! We are suppose to get a 'cool' front Friday night:yay: we may get down to 69 degrees!!!! Of course, it'll be back to 99 the next day, I am sure, but we will take it! So...it wont be long until the pool is too cold....
Yay for all of you getting that shopping done, and :welcome: to our new friends....feel at home and jump right in and start talkin'!!!!!

Just wanted to make sure everyone know Disneystore.com has free shipping with no minimum order right now. I just ordered 2 Minnie Mouse t-shirts for my neices for $2.99 each from the Outlet section.

I also ordered 2 pin sets that I'll use as traders on our next trip to WDW. The pins came out to $3-4 each, which I know is more than you can get them on ebay, but this way I know I'm trading authentic Disney pins.

Disneystore.com has princess barbie-type dolls in the outlet and some Club Penguin items which may interest some others on this board.

Thank you! I just took advantage of this. :)

Two things - DH mentioned that he wanted to get DD9 a Twins Joe Mauer jersey. I told him to save it for Christmas!!!

Then - I got a letter in the mail from American Girl. They are discontinuing Felicity and Elizabeth and all their stuff!!!! Since we own both dolls, I'm checking the website for some ideas. Might get one of the girls the foal, Patriot. Most of the other stuff is too expensive and they have a lot of clothes, but maybe one dress. Nothing is on sale however. Grr. Any discount codes for AG out there???

Did not know this...thanks for the heads up!!

Yeah for the jersey! Can you believe they are retiring them? YIKES!! Glad we got Elizabeth already--she was our first doll!!!!

I was thinking about another American girl for dd11. She got Julie last year and hasn't asked for another one, but she does like her doll.

I'll have to check out Disney online too, thanks!

Anyone have an "out of the box" suggestion for a 6 year old whos only interests are Nascar and Indycar? He already has all of the matchbox versions of the cars. My first thought was a subscription to the Nascar magazine, but at $45, that is too pricy for me. Any other ideas?

Does he have a racetrack? They have Nascar ones, and my ds had the Nascar versions of the Fisher Price shake n go cars for his track. He loved those.
What about official merchandise like his favorite driver's hat, shirt, backpack, bedding etc?

I'm so jealous of some of you guys, you are so far along and usually by this time of year I am too. I thought while I was on vacation I could get alot done at the outlets but I only got one thing for dd- a Coach purse. They were having a great clearance sale and giving out extra 20% off coupons too. She thinks she may ask for UGGs but she is waiting to see if the girls in school are going to be wearing them this year. I'm usually half way done, but I only have 4 gifts so far, I feel so behind :sad1:

Got two packages of zoobles for $9.99ea at target today. There was only 1 package left besides the bigger items like the set for $24.99. The squinkes were all sold out but they did have a display so I could see them. Not sure what the big deal is, do they do something? They are only $2 cheaper than zoobles and at least they do something.

Okay I'm feeling a little better now. I just spent an hour on Amazon going through their manager's grocery specials and took care of some gifts. I grabbed some cute food sets for some of the kids on my list. I got these but the girl version was only $8.xx when I ordered.

http://www.amazon.com/Sassafras-Kids-Flowerpot-Pudding-1-05/dp/B00206KE2G/ref=pd_sim_gro_4

http://www.amazon.com/Sassafras-Kid...841?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1283536114&sr=1-841

I also got a pack of 6 dip mixes and I plan on giving those to teachers. I'll get a dip chiller, crackers (closer to Christmas) and a basket to serve them in too.
For anyone that does food gifts, there are tons of ideas in the manager's special section and some really good prices too.

I just saw this thread. I thought I was the only one thinking about Christmas, but I see you guys have already started. I have a DD 5 and DD 9. We are going to HHI right after Christmas, so I'm going way out. I'm looking for a Blue Ray dvd player for DS.
