Christmas Shopping 2010

I was actually thinking about this and there is no way i'm waiting until november to buy Felicity. My dd really wants her and would definitely be bummed to not have her. I am actually ordering her in 2 weeks. I'm very excited. That will be 1 big gift down. And i'll purchase Rebecca and Molly at the AG store in november. I did call the store and they told me that they would have the other dolls in stock. I will call first just to double check. I know I ordered Julie the last week of november last year and got her in plenty of time, so i should be safe with waiting until november for Rebecca and Molly! I think? Does that sound safe to all of you AG pros?

And my 14 yr old just told us that he wants a black chain with a dog tag for christmas. That's good, I was unsure still of his big gift.

Just ordered our Godmother gifts today. They are all getting key fobs from Etsy from their Godchild.

I'm hoping to get more of the kid Christmas shopping done soon. Mine seem to be a lot different from others on this thread. Although I have 4 girls (5 soon), there is no interest in AG, or squinkies, or zoobles. The youngest ones are actually the hardest because they have so many hand me down toys, that they don't really need much. I'll probably finish up the 20 month old and new baby closer to Christmas so I have longer to think about what to get them.

DH is finished, also. He bought himself a traxxas r/c truck. He's even going to let me wrap it.

My 2 oldest are also getting r/c cars, not quite as expensive as DH, but pricey, none the less. My oldest DD also wants a compound bow, but we'll see how that works out. That would be 2 expensive gifts for her, and I try not to do that with so many kids.

DD5 (6 on Dec 29) has asked for a video camera. That should be wonderful to film the oldest 2 racing their cars in the back yard.

Most of the big stuff is out of the way. :cool1: And, they did their name draw for each other this weekend and are ready to finish their shopping for each other. I can definitely see progress.

My daughter REALLY wants a baby alive..and is saving up her money to buy one..
I think that is so comendable so I am going to buy her all the things that go with it.. If you see any sales please let me know!!

Good call on ordering Felicity soon! Better safe than sorry!:goodvibes I think you'll be fine ordering Rebecca and Molly in November. The three to worry about are Felicity, Elizabeth, and Lanie. I'm sure your girls are going to be thrilled with their 3 new dolls on Christmas!:wizard:

Ok well I got snaffued already. The boys found the mighty beanz stuff I had left in the car(foolish mommy) So the one item I have bought is now out of the Christmas bag so to speak.

I saw something today that I am thinking my 5 year old might like - it's Trio blocks but Batman ones. I'll be on the lookout for those.

I saw those at Target...they are currently on my list to pick up for my nephew's birthday. (Day after Christmas) Which reminds me that I need to put birthday wrapping paper on my list...my sister complained last year about everyone wrapping his birthday gifts in Christmas paper. Still need to figure out what to get DS for his birthday since it is on Dec. 29th. Might just get him a year membership to Club Penguin though.

Ok good! Yes, I cannot wait to see all of their faces on christmas morning. They are going to be soooo excited! I know i'll have them open the AGs last. They will each have one last present standing and they'll all look the same, so i know at that point they'll know what's behind the paper. Can't wait :yay:

I am normally shopping by now but my sister had a baby shower and all the activities are killing me right now with back to school shopping. I plan on starting soon but I have no clue what my daughters are going to want. Last year they were huge into American Girl but this year they seem to be getting away with it. I am going to try something new and do all the nieces and nephews and family first and start my daughters later because they are at the age where they are starting to outgrow toys.

Finally got lucky at WalMart this morning...they were fully stocked of squinkies stuff so I bought the cupcake play set, packages 1-4 (16 pc sets), and two of the treasure sets :cool1: Now, I won't have to worry about hunting them down closer to Christmas. They're already really hard to find here.

Also bought my neice a Little Tykes xylophone because that's one of the things my sis wanted for her.

Also, 3princesses + aprince: Just an FYI since I know you were thinking about buying Rebecca. QVC has a great deal on her right now! You might want to check it out :)

Hello everyone!!! :welcome: to all our new people!!!!
Well, we went to TRU and Target today and wrote down some stuff for our wishlist....so.....I can now start weeding thru and see what's what!! Ds11 is still pretty set on all LEGOs again...TRU has a Lego sale right now....it's the City set-buy one get one half off. I might have to sneak out and get some!!! Saw tons of those little things y'all have been talking about:Zubles? is that what they were? And the little hamster looking things..they had a million!!!!! Guess they are expecting them to sell out!!!! I showed them to my dd, and she said NOPE....so, I just moved on to something else!! She likes Polly Pockets and Little Pet Shops better...so we wrote down several...have y'all seen the new Polly P stuff? the Cute Mutants...they call Cutants....they are really cute!!!!!

Oh I have not seen the new little poly things. I'll have to check them out. My lists for the girls keep getting longer and longer. Luckily we have a lot of family members that will be looking for lists from them soon too.

Thanks for the QVC update on Rebecca. I wish I was ready to buy her now, but gotta work on Felicity first. And good for you for buying the Squinkies stuff. I do think that those and zoobles will be non existent close to christmas.

I picked up the Zoobles "stow globe" today. It comes with one zooble and it unfolds and looks like a tree and holds up to 20 zoobles. That is for my dd11 because she didn't want the playsets just the zoobles and I figured i'd get her this so she could at least have a storage spot for them or they'd just end up in her drawer. :goodvibes...... with everything else.
I got this in Walmart and they had all the playsets but not one zooble. Completely empty racks there. Same thing with the squinkies. Although for them they did have 2 16 pks left, but that was it and then their playsets.

I'm holding out on buying the Zoobles treehouse. It's 35 and i'm hoping for it to go on sale one week. Not sure if it will ,but usually new toys like that do at least once or twice before christmas. Although I know I can't wait too long or i'll be paying twice as much for it on Amazon

Hello to all of Santa's helpers!!!! I got a chunk taken care of today!!! Our TRU has the Lego City sets buy 1 get 1 50%off...so, I printed off ds11s Legowishlist and took off while he was at guitar practice!!!! I got some good ones for half price!! They had a pretty good selection left of the ones he really wanted. Have to get his stockin stuffers and a few more things...maybe a new bike from Santa..but the majority of his is DONE!!!!!!
DD7 and I went over her AG wishlist today...I usually order all that mid-Oct...it comes in soooo quickly!!! But, I want to have it here and hidden before vacation for sure!!!!!
DS14...still not sure what he reeeeaally wants...he kinda waits till closer to his bday (12-4) to really get it all picked out...last year he got a new guiatar and amp for Christmas and a digital camera for his bday...he was ecstatic!!!! So....I think dd is gonna be getting some of the new polly pockets and Little Pet shops...along with Lanie...the AG doll of 2010....she is wanting her so badly!! LOL Well...just wanted to share the joy of shopping with y'all!!!

I went to WalMart on my way home from work last night after reading your post. I had foot surgery 5 weeks ago and just started driving again over the weekend so I haven't been out much. I was disappointed to see that they were remodeling the store so a huge section in the middle was boarded off and the entire store was a mess. No squinkies in that store. BUT I did buy DD(11) a Pooh Pook*a*looz toppler. Proabably not worth the $5 but she has a stuffed Pooh Pook*a*looz we bought at Disney so I think she'll enjoy the toppler. Pooh is her life long favorite Disney character.

DD(11) & I saw the set up for squinkies at Target Labor Day but they of course didn't have any in stock. She wasn't thrilled by them but I think DD(7) would get a kick out of them. I think her big gift will be a Nintendo DSi. Her Nintendo isn't working very well.

DD(7) has a large selection of Schleich figures-lots of dogs and other "wild" animals and a few accessories like cages, fencing, and feeding trough. I just found a site that has some of the discountinued dogs for "regular" prices. They tend to be between $2 & $5 but the discountinued ones are about $20 some places. I won't pay that. I have to go see what she has and order a few. I have to think about if I want to put some aside for a few years. Last year I put a discountinued one in the very bottom of her stocking and she thought it was santa's magic.;)

DS(11) wants a remote controll hellecopter with a camera, night vision goggles and a hand held GPS. Sounds like trouble. And he's my real home body.:rotfl:

Hi all -

I'm looking for Pillow Pets advice. What stores carry them? Are they always $20? What age kids are you buying them for?

My 8-year-old son thinks he wants one. TRU website says age 3-5, but the "official" pillow pets website says newborns to grandparents. He has always loved stuffed animals and loves to snuggle up with blankets and his animals. He's one of those kids that sleeps with at least 10 animals in bed with him.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Aww, I'm sorry you didn't have any luck at WalMart with the squinkies. It was such a fluke that the WalMart I stopped into had any at all and then to be fully stocked I was shocked and delighted. I've had no luck seeing them at WalMart or Target prior to that!I do like those pook a looz though. They're so cute!

Disney Mommy3: Sounds like you got some great deals on the Legos and made a dent in your list!:cool1:

3princesses + aprince: I didn't look too closely at the Zooble storage case. That dose sound like a good idea to keep them all in one place!. I haven't purchased the Zoobles treeset either, hope I can find a deal on it too!

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

I just read an inspiring story on the Budget Board where a member bought a pillow pet for $19.99 at CVS and used a coupon for $4 off $20 purchase and another $3 off for an as seen on TV coupon -

I have seen them for $20 at Target...only the bee, ladybug, unicorn and puppy. The lowest I have seen them is $16.99 at BJs, but they only have 3 styles. I have seen a lot of styles at the fair for $25 (I think they are real) and for about that price at the mall kiosk (I don't think those are real, but still nice/cute)

I am considering one for dd......currently there is a stuffie moratorium at our house, but since this is a pillow too....we'll see! I guess I want to see if stores get more selection to see if that makes plunking down $20 more palatable!

My kids haven't asked for pillow pets but I know they'd love them and I was thinking about getting them as well. Not sure yet :confused3

Thanks for posting that AG/QVC link!

I am looking for a Electric Scooter and a Digital Camera. I know I should get a good deal on the camera but I have no clue what type of scooter to get
