Christmas ressies

We're talking about taking our 2nd DVC trip 12/05 - looking at the 4th through the 10th. We are OKW owners, but would like to try WLV for the Christmas decor. Should we make an OKW ressie at 11 mos, and then try to switch? How hard is it to get reservations at this time? I know it's the slowest time of the year for the parks (according to the Unofficial Guide), but DVC is different! I've got a few months to debate it, but am curious! Thanks!

Yes, book at OKW at 11 months and then try to switch. It is a busy time for DVC but you may get what you want....good luck!

Early December is notoriously tough to book at VWL, so plan to call day by day at the 7 month window. You may have to waitlist, but I think you will be successful. If not, well you'll still have OKW!

Thanks for the info. Figured WLV would be tough because of the X-Mas atmosphere there. On the chance we can't get it at 7 mo's - any suggestions for 2nd choice? Are any of the particularly special at the holidays?

If you waitlist it. Be sure and do it day by day. I started at 5 months out and was able to put together a stay at our home SSR. It took about three weeks. Also waitlisted all the others day by day and was able to get BWV all but one day(still waiting).
Nothing at VWL or BCV. Decided to get resale for VWL so that we can book at the 11 month mark for pre Christmas time.

We had BWV scheduled for Dec 3-10, 2004. We booked it in April (when we closed on our resale). We wanted standard view...but, no luck. We got on the waitlist for the standard view, and then decided we might want to spend a few nights at VWL (since it didn't seem like the BWV st. view would come through, anyway). I called at the end of May (25th), and VWL was still available!!! I was shocked!!! We changed to two nights at VWL, and kept the rest at BWV...then, our st. view came through on the remaining nights!!! Woohoo!!

So...you might have a chance at 7 months!!!
