but in fact for that , we do just like heterosexuals do , we kiss our lovers on the mouth ! Is that a bad message to send ?
I am...This is so typical of...How can you...WIcruizer said:Well, it we're talking about two women, not only is it not a bad message- it should be encouraged!

ead79 said:Not to harp on the topic, but why do you assume thats true. I am a conservative Christian, and I did not have sex outside of marriage or drink. I am not the only person like that. I think you're making a big assumption.
Furthermore, I am sure many of these so called conservative Christian students are the same ones you'll find at spring break or frat parties getting wasted and fornicating with whoever.
cardaway used to be a Christian outing!cardaway said:This is what I said was true, note the use of the word many.
I have been to my share of Christian outings (used to be one BTW) and my members of my close family still go.
I don't assume it to be true, I know it to be true. Calling me a liar?

ead79 said:Of course I'm not calling you a liar, and frankly, I think at this point you might just be trying to get a rise out of me.
goofygirl said:I hate to say it, but it would not surprise me at all if branches of the KKK and neo-Nazis started forming on campuses. They will promote their "white superiority given by God" under the guise of "religious freedom", and cry discrimination when they get challenged.
Really , I do believe this is where we are headed. Its sad. It just shows you that being academic does not make one smarter or more tolerant.

toto2 said:And just to add here that , usually , Gay pride week ( Wow , I would love a whole month !) is not governement sanctionned. Every city has it at different week through out the year. Here in Montréal , it is at the beguining of august , But in the USA , it is usually around the end of June to commemorate the Stonewall riots. Stonewall was a bar in Greenwich villge that cattered to gay people. It was often raided by police and one day , some of the bar custumers ( mostly tranvestites and the more effeminates one) rebelled against the police and fought back. This event is considered to be the beguining of the gay rights movements.
Gay pride weeks are usually organised by community organisation. There no , (at least here in montréal) workplace gay awareness events of any kind !
Some of us don't see it as a choice..Some of us don't see it as immoral.. Some of us have religious beliefs to back us up.JoeEpcotRocks said:Civil rights for a lifestyle choice?
Pride in something immoral?

All of us are created in the image of G-d. That includes homosexuals.. At this time of celebration of the escape of Jews from bondage in Egypt ,I won't sit back and let anyone marginalize his children...Hashem loves us all,gay ,straight, White ,black, Jew ,gentile alike .
Obviously joe,we come from different beliefs..I don;t believe gay people are condemned to hell..I don't believe in hell..Gay people have failed to keep one mitzvah...That's itJoeEpcotRocks said:Yes, we're all His children made in His image, but we're suppossed to escape our bondage of sin with God's forgiveness, love and strength, not kowtow to it or rationalize it.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you did.. Perhaps one to many glasses of wine at the seder tonight?JoeEpcotRocks said:I condemn no one to hell.
I've NEVER said or implied that.
cardaway said:I was just thinking the same thing of your responses towards me.
The statement was quite innocent. It said "many", not "all", and your repeated questioning of me reeks pretty badly given I never say all.
All one has to do is look at the stats everybody gives form another direction and you see it must be true. Those stats of how many Christians there are cannot be disconnected from the stats you don't want to be true. For example, the stats on the number of unwed early 20 mothers is staggering. Given the stats, the majority of them have to be people who would check off Christian on those surveys.
There was also that recent Girls Gone Wild thread. Once again those high precentages don't go away, in fact if we are talking a Southern beach, it's likely a large percentage went back to church on Sunday and kept their vacation activities secret.
And then you have the many, many, church retreats me and my cousins have been to. What do you think is the draw for MANY of those young people? There were some 100% "good" people there, but there were MANY people doing things they wouldn't have wanted to get caught doing.

toto2 said:Joe , gay pride is not for you. I dont pretend to tell you how you should live your christian life , this is totaly up to you. it is your "lifestyle choice" and you seem to be very proud of it. More power to you !
Your freedom of speech permits you to come to every thread that discuss being gay and to tell us how your "lifestyle choice" is so superiour than ours.
The only "lifestyle choice" there is in being gay is to chose to not live as a gay person .
I respect your "lifestyle choice" to marry who , and how and when to do it. I respect your "lifestyle choice" on how to live your religion and I will never , ever try to legislate how you do it. You should do the same with what you call my "Lifestyle choice" , since you think it is one. Democraty means freedom and equality for everyone: majority , minority , gender , color, religion.
You seem to know so much about gay people , how they think , how they are deep inside. Do you know deep inside of you exactly how a women feels , or how chinese or Iraky people feel ?

Saxsoon said:Your post made me think. Now that I think about there are the teens in our group that go get hammered every friday and saturday and talk about at church! But these are also the kids whose parents forced them to go to church. These same people you talk about are the same way, and even though they don't put their soul into it, they call themselves that anyway. Think of say a human being raised by Apes ala Tarzan. It doesn't make him one. A true Christian that is god-fearing and takes his word to heart wouldn't go around doing these things because they would know fully well the cosequences of their actions. People say they are Christians because, " Hey I can go get hammered and laid tonight, but tomorrow God will forgive me. I found a loop hole! " I would hardly consider them Christian. This too would be the equivalent of creating your own religion, just to get out of the army.
