Good Morning Everyone!

Hi Jilly! I have been thinking of you and wondering how you were doing. And that is so ture, that God's timing is not ours(he always knows when the time is right for us). And I will be saying my prayers for you that you find a wonderful, new position. I know God has a plan for you, me and everyone else here and when the time is right we will be able to see God's plan that he has in store for us. And here is a , for you Jilly.

And that is so cool that you are going on a Women's retreat! I am so excited for you and you will have to let us know how it went, when you get back.

I hope you guys have a wonderful and safe trip to the beach. :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

And I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!:flower:

Thanks Sarah, for all you said above! You are a sweet sister in Christ!
I have been going crazy trying to get all of my paperwork together and filling out applications, obtaining rec. letters and writing essays for different schools...I am looking to obtain some sort of teaching position for the Fall. I am leaving my P/T position in Children's Ministries after July. I know that God is certain of my future and it is silly for me to worry when He has it all arranged already. But you all know what its like when you're waiting and waiting...

I only wish I could take all of you (The women here that is) along on this retreat...this will be my fourth year going and it is always wonderful with singing, Bible study, discussion, testimonies, and of course relaxing and enjoying God's world! The room we are staying in this year overlooks the bay and it is so peaceful to watch the water and the sunset in the evenings. We always walk on the Ocean side of the beach too when we are not in some kind of meeting or eating!! The food is pretty good too! And I don't have to cook it!!!! I really do wish you all could come.:(

Here's a song for the close of this lovely Lord's Day!

In Christ AloneIn Christ alone my heart is found,
He is my light my strength my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease.
My comforter, my all in all,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
'Til on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied.
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then, bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His, and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand,
'Til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand!

sounds great, Jill! Hi everyone, hope you had a blessed weekend...:wave2:

those are some wonderful songs. i found a great website for Jesus music freaks, it is www.one-way.org, it links to artists from the early days of the Jesus movement from the 70's til the 90's. i think posters to this thread will find the site quite interesting and a great source for info and hard to find recordings of their fave artists.

like a dreamer who was tryin' to build a highway to the sky,
all my hopes would come tumblin' down, and i neve knew just why.
until today when You pulled away the clouds that hung like curtains on my eyes. i was blind, all these wasted years and i thought i was so wise, but then you took me by surprise.

like waking up from the longest dream, how real it seemed,
until Your love broke through. i was lost in a fantasy that blinded me, until your love broke through.

all my life i have been searchin' for that crazy missing part,
with one touch , You just rolled away the stone that held my heart.
now i see that the answer was as simple as my need to let love in, and i'm so sure i could never doubt Your gentle touch again, it's like the power of the wind

like waking up from the longest dream, how real it seemed,
until Your love broke through. i was lost in a fantasy that blinded me, until your love broke through.

to obey is better than sacrifice.

Hi pogopossum! :) I'm so glad you posted. That's a great song by Keith Green. I really like all if his music. Thanks for the link, too! I'm gonna check it out.

Welcome to the DIS and this thread! :)

Welcome, Pogopossum. Hi everyone, and Good Monday Morning!

Untitled Hymn

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall...so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

but certainly I'm learning that God's timing is not mine

This could not have been said any better. I sometimes slip back into man's way of thinking. But then I get that safe dropped on my head that knocks me back into God's way of thinking. I move when God moves, and not a step before that. When I try to do things "my" way they always fail. Thank you for saying this!

I just want to say, first good morning!!!!! God has raises us to see another day. That is worth living for in its self!!!! Secondly, I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend :) I sure did, especially after a rough week. But I atribute that to all of the prayers I recieved from you guys last week. Thank You so much.

God is moving in my family's life in so many ways. Sometimes there are no words to express the joy I feel, even when I'm not playing with my "A" game. I can only say it's Gods joy moving in my heart!

Have a beautiful work week!!!!

Jill,

I didn't get to read your post about a prayer request until just now. We left early Fri. for a show and so Thurs. evening I was a *bit* busy:D . I just have to tell you that either Fri. or Sat. night(my weekend was a blur) I just couldn't get to sleep. God laid you on my heart (and several others here:D ). I prayed for you and your family as I know you all have decisions to be made on several fronts....finding a new job for one. It is just so neat to find out that you had needed prayer for that very thing! Hope you have a wonderful time on the retreat! Sounds like fun....wish I could go. I need a trip to the beach. That and I too feel just dried up and drained. For me, it's not really having a church I feel a part of...that in itself is quite draining. Love you!

Light of the world
You stepped out into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
You're altogether wonderful to me

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
You're altogether wonderful to me

Hi Everyone!

Hi pogopossum and Welcome! I am so glad you found us and I hope you will post again.::yes::

Moving Buddy and Fur, I love those songs!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! :sunny:

Good afternoon, Jeanne, Sarah, Jen, Michelle, Kim, and Tash! As I wrote out your names here today, I prayed for each one of you!

Welcome Pogopossum! Please come and visit us often...especially with great songs like the one you posted! Keith Green's ministry was and still is awesome as God uses His music to touch lives!

Tash, What an awesome God we serve! Thank you for responding to His call to prayer for me and others here...even in the middle of the night! I too find that praying for iothers when my mind won't let me sleep is a blessing for both me and those I lift up!! How can people NOT believe in the awesome power that is so evident in our GOD!!!!

Michelle, that scripture is PERFECT...as is His WORD always! Thanks for posting your encouragement with all of us here! It is an important and vital role to simply speak the Word of God as He provides it for you in your study or on your calendar!!

Kim,
God is moving in my family's life in so many ways. Sometimes there are no words to express the joy I feel, even when I'm not playing with my "A" game. I can only say it's Gods joy moving in my heart!
WOW!!!! This is ME NOW! ANd thanks to encouragment, prayers and emails from people here, I am more focused on recognizing and expressing that joy...even in the harder times!

Jeanne, I have never heard that song before...the lyrics are wonderful! I love the order of the verses, COME, SING, FALL, CRY, DANCE, FLY!!! I feel like this is a great order for two things...first, how we know Jesus over our lifetimes and secondly, how we know Him in different day to day circumstances...
First we have to COME to Him
Then we learn to WORSHIP Him with SINGING
Then we GIVE UP and FALL on His majesty
Then we CRY OUT for HIM to be our ALL IN ALL
THEN, we DANCE and truly FLY as we LIVE in Him!!!!!

Sarah, I hope your day is wonderful too! It would be great for us all to go on retreat...Aren't we blessed to know we will be all together in our final REST in our HOME in HEAVEN...ETERNALLY!!! I do pray for you all to take advantage of retreats and times of rest and spiritual renwal as they arise...seek out these opportunities. ANd even if we can't all be together, we can share what we learn here when we get back!

Jen, Thanks for your love and kindness and for always singing your songs! The proverbs scripture was running through my mind even before I came here today! Thank you for reminding me that though "weeping may endure for the night, His joy comes in the morning". :)

I just want to TESTIFY today to the wonder of our LORD, JESUS and to our FATHER GOD and HIS AWESOME WAYS! :bounce:

Blessing to all today! :grouphug:

Hello everyone,
I haven't had much of a chance to read all I missed but it sounds as though a few are having some troubles. It seems that so many believer's are having struggles now, but remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power , love and a sound mind.

I have started to repeat over and over each day what has been promised in the Word and it had certainly helped me through an enormous struggle I am now almost out of.

"I will live and declare the works of God"

"I am more than a conqueror through Christ who has redeemed me"

"Greater is he within me than he that is in the world"

""No weapon shall prevail against me"

He is my defender, protector, shield and abundant compensation"

"By his stripes I am healed" not might be healed but AM healed.

Believe it. Hang on to it. It is the truth.

Have a great day everyone

Hello everyone :wave2: I'm all moved in. Hope evyone is doing well. God bless and enjoy

Powerful!

One day a while back, a man, his heart heavy with grief, was walking in the woods. As he thought about his life this
day, he knew many things were not right. He thought about those who had lied about him back when he had a job.
His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and cheated him. He remembered family that had passed on. His mind turned to the illness he had that no one could cure. His very soul was filled with anger, resentment and frustration.
Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find, knowing all else had failed him, he knelt at the base
of an old oak tree to seek the one he knew would always be there. And with tears in his eyes, he prayed:
"Lord - - - You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed. Today, you have told me to forgive. I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't know how. It is not fair Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and I shouldn't have to forgive. As perfect as your way is Lord, this one thing I cannot do, for I don't know how to forgive. My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I pray that you teach me to do this one thing I cannot do - - -
Teach me To
Forgive."
As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt
something fall onto his shoulder. He opened his eyes. Out of the corner of one eye, he saw something red on his shirt.
He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had been was a large square piece of wood in the ground. He raised his head and saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through them. He raised his head more, and
tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus hanging on a cross. He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk into His head. Finally he saw the suffering and pain on His precious face. As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and Jesus began to speak.
Have you ever told a lie, he asked?
The man answered - - - yes Lord.
Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?
The man answered yes Lord. And the man sobbed
more and more.
Have you ever taken something from work that
wasn't yours, Jesus asked?
And the man answered yes Lord.
Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain?
The man, crying now, answered yes Lord.
As Jesus asked many more times, "Have you ever"? The man's crying became uncontrollable, for he could only answer yes Lord.
Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man felt something fall on his other shoulder. He
looked and saw that it was the blood of Jesus. When he looked back up, his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a look of love the man had never seen or known before.
Jesus said, I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you.
It may be hard to see how you're going to get through something, but when you look back in life, you realize how true
this statement is.
Read the first line below slowly and let it sink in. This is simple, and important. Read on ... This first line is deep.

If God brings you to it - - - He will bring you through it.

Savior/Steven Curtis Chapman

Well, who is this angry man I see
In the mirror looking back at me?
It's a man who's tired, a man who's weak
And it's a man who needs a Savior

And who is this fearful little child
Crying out for home, lost in the wild?
With a lonely heart that's fading fast
It's a child who needs a Savior
A child who needs a Savior

And what is this longing in my soul
That I get so scared and angry?
I need more than just a little help
I need someone who will save me
Come and save me
I need someone to save me
Who will save me?
Come and save me

And who is this one nailed to a cross
Who would rather die than leave us lost?
He's come to rescue us, come to set us free
Hallelujah, hallelujah
It is Christ the Lord... our Savior
