thought that this was kind of cool:
dw works at the church in the grade school ministry, in charge of kids worship, vbs, etc. well a while back she brought a cd home of kids music by our assistant music minister of choruses such as shout to the lord, lift your name on high, and casual christian was one of the songs. so i said you have to hear this and got out a d&k cd "destined to win, classic rock collection" and played the whole song for them. it was neat to open their eyes to a classic.
slowly but surely i am introducing the dw and dd to some great music from the golden era. for easter weekend dw wanted something for 2nd graders worship to listen to about easter, so i took her to the bookstore and helped her pick up don francisco cd so that she could play "he's alive" for the kids. it's great to open up new eyes to music that is more than just background music.

Great story pogopossum! Back on Easter I posted the lyrics to He's Alive and declared it my favorite Easter song of all time. I've loved it since I was a child, good for you tuning those kids into some awesome music from the past that gets for the most part no recognition anymore. I was seriously listening to the radio the other day and after this song played they were like and there's a classic from so in so and the song was only maybe 5 years old.
It would be nice to hear some true classics on the radio now and then.

Hi all... could you pray for healing? My back is hurting so bad, I must have a muscle spasm and am taking some meds, but it really hurts. If I hadn't had people coming to fold the church newsletter this morning, I would have stayed home! Thanks in advance, my brothers and sisters... may His love be your guide.
