Love My Lips: Veggietales

Narrator: "One day while talking with Dr. Archibald, Larry confronts one of his deepest fears ..."
Larry: "If my lips ever left my mouth, packed a bag and headed south, that'd be too bad, I'd be so sad."

Archibald: "I see. That'd be too bad, you'd be so sad?"

Larry: "That'd be too bad. If my lips said "adios, I don't like you I think you're gross," that'd be too bad, I might get mad."

Archibald: "That'd be too bad, you might get mad?"

Larry: "That'd be too bad. If my lips moved to Duluth, left a mess and took my tooth, that'd be too bad, I'd call my Dad."

Archibald: "That'd be too bad, you'd call your Dad?"

Larry: "That'd be too bad."

Archibald: "Hold it. Did you say your father? Fascinating! So what you're saying is that if your lips left you ..."

Larry: "That'd be too bad, I'd be so sad, I might get mad, I'd call my Dad. That be too bad."

Archibald: "That'd be to bad?"

Larry: "That'd be too bad."

Archibald: "Why?"

Larry: "Because I love my lips." [Scatting]

Archibald: "Oh my ... This is more serious than I thought. Larry, tell me, what do you see here?"

Larry: "Um, that looks like a lip."

Archibald: "And this?"

Larry: "It's a lip!"

Archibald: "And this?"

Larry: "It's a lip, it's a lip, it's a lip lip lip! It's a lip, it's a lip, it's a lip lip lip! It's a lip, it's a lip, it's a lip lip lip. Liiiiiiiiiiiips. Lip lip lip."

Archibald: "Larry, tell me about your childhood."

Larry: "When I was just two years old I left my lips out in the cold and they turned blue. What could I do?"

Archibald: "They turned blue, what could you do?"

Larry: "Oh they turned blue. On the day I got my tooth I had to kiss my Great Aunt Ruth. She had a beard ... and it felt weird."

Archibald: "My, my. She had a beard and it felt weird?"

Larry: "She had a beard. Ten days after I turned eight, got my lips stuck in a gate. My friends all laughed. And I just stood there until the fire department came and broke the lock with a crow bar and I had to spend the next six weeks in lip rehab with this kid named Oscar who got stung by a bee - right on the lip - and we couldn't even talk to each other until the fifth week because both our lips were so swollen, and when he did start speaking he just spoke Polish and I only knew like three words in Polish except now I know four because Oscar taught me the word for lip: Usta!"

Archibald: "Your friends all laughed ... Usta? How do you spell that?"

Larry: "I don't know."

Archibald: "So what you're saying is that when you were young ..."

Larry: "They turned blue, what could I do? She had a beard and it felt weird. My friends all laughed ... Usta!"

Archibald: "I'm confused ..."

Larry: "I love my lips!" [Scatting]

Narrator: "This has been Silly Songs with Larry. Tune in next time to hear Larry say ..."

Larry: "Have I ever told you how I feel about my nose?"

Archibald: "Oh, look at the time!"

Steady On: Point of Grace

Kicking up dust

Heaven or bust

We’re headed for the promised land

Since the moment we believed, we’ve been eager to leave

Like a child tugging daddy’s hand

May we never forget that patience is a virtue

Calm our anxious feet so faithful hands can serve you, Lord

We run on up ahead, we lag behind You

It’s hard to wait when heaven’s on our minds

Teach our restless feet to walk beside You

'Cause in our hearts we’re already gone

Will you walk with us

Steady On

We want to walk a while

We know that every mile is bring us closer home

We want to tell the story

Of sinners bound for glory and turn to find we’re not alone

When we walk in Your light the lost will see You better

As the narrow road gets crowded Lord won’t you lead us

Steady On

Chorus

Steady me, when the road of faith gets rocky

Oh ready me, for fears I cannot see

Lord won’t you let me be a witness to your promise

Won’t you steady me

Chorus

Water Buffalo Song: Veggietales

Larry: "Everybody's got a water buffalo, yours is fast but mine is slow. Oh, where'd we get them? I don't know, but everybody's got a water buffalo-ooooooooo.
I took my buffalo to the store, got his head stuck in the door, spilled some lima beans on the floor. Oh everybody's got a ..."

Archibald: "Stop it, stop, stop right this instant! What do you think you're doing? You can't say everyone's got a water buffalo when everyone does not have a water buffalo! We're going to get nasty letters saying, "Where's my water buffalo? Why don't I have a water buffalo?" And are you prepared to deal with that? I don't think so! Just stop being so silly!"

Narrator: "This has been Silly Songs with Larry. Tune in next time to hear Larry sing ..."

Larry: "Everybody's got a baby kangaroo, yours is pink but mine is blue. Hers was small but ..."

Hi CS! Sing on, girl! Love it :)

This was my "Word of the Day", thought it was quite the coincidence since we were just talking about this the other day. :) Love it when that happens. :)

God knows the desires of my heart and life. I can come to Him with boldness, trusting Him to provide everything I need and refusing to worry or fret about the question marks or apparent injustices in my life.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6 NIV

Jumping up and down and singing, "Our God is an Awesome God!"

This just fits in with what you said, Michelle, and your verse!!

I've been really struggling with tithing vs. "needs". Money has been really tight lately and I decided that I'd still tithe and if the "needs" were to get met, God would meet them. That meant that if there was zero in the grocery column, groceries wouldn't get purchased. So, this has been a really "lean" week. Luckily, my DS#2 (aka the eating machine) has only been home for one dinner and I had chicken breasts in the freezer that I could fix. The rest of the week has been really slim pickings. So much so in fact, that we've both had peanut butter and jelly all week long in our packed lunches.

So, tonight I went to see my counselor (he's helping me work out my feelings over the unwanted divorce) and he refused payment. He said, "Go, buy some food." I stopped at the grocery store on the way home for milk, juice, bread, chipped ham, and some fruit. I still have $20 left for the rest of the week!

God, you really are looking out for us!

Edie (with tears of joy rolling down her face)

How exciting Edie! It is such a blessing to hear how He provides when we are faithful.

Someone once told me that when we let go of what is in our hands, God will let go of what is in His. Well, it actually says that in the Bible, worded differently but the meaning is the same. :)

"Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing for you that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10

What is everyone singing today? I'm still on a high from God's answer to my prayer yesterday. Plus, last night, our A/C went out and the house was approaching 80+ degrees. I prayed over the thermostat, nothing. Then, as I was reading in Jeremiah, the thought of a switch came to me. I ran down to the basement and switching the blower off and then back on. It worked!! As a newly single mom, these small home repairs are a thing of wonder!

Here's a new song that our Christian station has been playing a lot. Really love the words!

YOU ARE STILL GOD

Scott Krippayne – YOU ARE STILL GOD
From the album – IT GOES LIKE THIS
Spring Hill (2003)

I’ve prayed but still don’t have answers
At least none I’m able to see
I’ve tried to rest in not knowing
But not knowing’s a hard place to be
But as I return to Your pages
The words breathe new life to my soul
I see You at work through the ages
And know that You’re still in control

chorus:
You are still God
You have created the land and the sea
May we applaud
And sing to the wonder of Your majesty
The wind will still blow
We won’t always know
Why seasons of life are so hard
But You are still God

Help me have faith in the knowledge
That You’re greater than what we go through
And when I reside in the valleys
Help me keep trusting in You
The how and the when You are moving
Were not meant for me to decide
Again and again You are proving
You’re there at just the right time

chorus

Hope everyone has a wonderful, restful weekend.

In Him,
Edie

Say Won't You Say

by Jennifer Knapp

Say won't You say

Say that You love me

with love, ever, love, love everlasting?

All my devotion put into motion by You

Every morning I

have a chance to rise and give my all

but every afternoon I find I have only wasted time

In light of Your awe

Isn't love amazing, I forgot how to speak

knowing You are near and I am finally free

My eyes fear to close

this reckless letting go is hard to bear

on the edge of all I need, still I cling to what I see

and what have I there?

Bred my own disaster, who have I to blame?

all I need is waiting to be fanned to flame

As I open up my eyes to see You standing there

Oh I can barely breathe, and I can hardly bear

All the love that I feel for You inside

I hope You feel it now somehow

Hi everyone!!!

Hey Jilly, did you know that was the song sung at Mother Theresa's funeral service? Awesome song!

Edie--It's incredible to see the love of the Father in your life over the past few pages I have read!

Hi Jen and Michelle and CS and luvdisney!

Lanshark, I saw you posted "On My Knees" a few pages back! Gorgeous song! I sang it a few months ago at church with an performance track. It's so pretty.

I've been on a MercyMe kick lately. They really sing some nice ones.

The Love of God

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child, He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin.

Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment make.
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade.
To write the love of God above
would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contan the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky.

Oh love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints and angels sing.

Hey everybody! :)

Edie, keep sharing those testimonies! What a blessing!
Michelle, thank you for the words!

CRB, I love MercyMe and the song you sang must be my favorite song of theirs! It is awesome!!

Pray:Rebecca St.James

Jesus, I am broken now before you I fall

I lay me down What I want is you my all

I Cry out from the ashes boundless and unchained

I ask you Lord to make me whole again,

For you say if I will come and will pray to you

There's forgiveness when I turn from me and pray

For you say if I will come and will pray to you

You hear me and heal me when I

Your ways are not my own but I long for them to be

So this is what I pray: One with you you'll make me

Melt me away till only you remain.

For you say if I will come and will pray to you

There's forgiveness when I turn to you and pray

For you say if I will come and will pray to you

You hear me and heal me when I pray

Jesus I am broken now before you

Take me I am yours

Hey everyone....I'm Baaaccckkk!!

Wow...what great things to come home to.....the songs, the scriptures, the stories of God's provision, love and just plain awesomeness!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!

That Mercy Me song above I know as a hymn (one of my faves infact).....haven't heard their version though.

Our trip went incredibly well.....safe travel and great weather. Had a wonderful visit with our puppy's breeder....wondeful lady who needs the Lord....so I am praying for her in that respect.

Saw more of this great country than I've seen before....beautiful! God's handiwork is just amazing. The landforms in WI that were left by the glacier in the Ice Age are really neat....how HUGE those sheets of ice must have been! When I get pix - I'll *try* to post some on the CB somewhere for you to see.

I have a song to post.....but it will have to wait until I can get the words out of DH's truck.

Thanks for the prayers...what a blessing you all are! And all the verses on worry have been a help to me this AM....needed it for today.

Hi Stamper! Looking forward to pics! That MercyMe song is beautiful! They do a superb job with it.

My kids just left for a 8 days with their dad :(. I'm kind of lonely without them and without my kitty.

So I guess I'll be DISing a lot!

Here is another gorgeous one from MercyMe.

WORD OF GOD SPEAK

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay
The last think I need is to be heard
But to hear whe You would say

Oh word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

Im finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
All that I need is to be with You
And in the quiet hear Your voice

Oh word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

Oh word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay

Hi all! CS, I love those JK and R StJ songs
Thanks to all for the great songs and scriptures too!

Edie, what an incredible story again of God's provision to us when we are faithful to Him. :D

stamper! So glad you're back and your trip went well! Looking forward to pics! Below is one of MY favorite hymns as well. It is pretty much the same as above with just the middle verse included. I personally LOVE the way 4HIM does this one on their Hymns CD...OF COURSE!

Barb so glad you're here and posting some great songs!

The Love of God/Frederick Lehman

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

Refrain

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

When years of time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men, who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Refrain

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

Refrain

Hi Jilly!

That middle verse is wonderful! Thank you!

One last one from MercyMe here!

SPOKEN FOR

Take this world from me
I don't need it anymore
Iam am finally free
My heart is spoken for
Oh and praise You
Oh and I worship you

Covered by a love divineChild of the risen Lord
To hear You say, "This one's mine"
My heart is spoken for

Now I have a peace
That I've never known before
I find myself complete
My heart is spoken for

Covered by a love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear You say, "This one's mine"
My heart is spoken for

By the power of the cross
You've taken what was lost
And made it fully Yours
And I have been redeemed
By You who spoke to me
Now I am spoken for

Covered by a love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear You say, "This one's mine"
My heart is spoken for

Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps: Veggietales

Quartet: "There lived a man so long ago, his memory's but faint
Was not admired, did not inspire like president or saint
But people came from far and near with their afflicted pets
For a special cure they knew for sure wouldn't come from other vets!
Woooahhh ..."
Larry: "This is a song for your poor, sick penguin
He's got a fever and his toes are blue
But if I sing to your poor, sick penguin
He will feel better in a day or two!
Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hoo
Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hee yodel-eee-ooo
Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hoo
Yada-yada yada-yada yad-eee-ooo!"

Pa: "He's gone a little loopy,
In case you haven't heard.
Here's a couple' pennicilin
For your sicky, arctic bird."

Quartet: "No skeptic could explain just how, nor could one oft rebut,
The wonderous deeds that went on in that little Alpine hut.
Some would stand in silence while some just scratched their scalps
For the curious ways of the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps.
Woooahhh ..."

Pa: "Good news on the penguin, doc! He's up and kickin'!"

Larry: "This is a song for your pregnant kitty
She's looking nauseous and a week past due
But if I sing for your pregnant kitty
She will feel better in a day or two!

Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hoo
Yodel-leh-hee yodel-ye-dee yodel-eee-ooo
Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hee yodel-aye-hoo
Yada-yada yada-yada ya-ga-doo!"

Pa: "Jump in your car, drive into the city,
Buy a jug of milk for your nauseated kitty."

Quartet: "The practice grew, their profits flew until one fateful day,
When the nurse who did assist the doc asked for a raise in pay.
The doctor pondered this awhile, sat back and scratched his scalp, then said: 'No way, Jose!'
To the nurse of the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps.
Woooahhh ..."

Pa: "Good news on the kitty, doc! She's feelin' great. Six kittens. Named one after you."

Larry: "This is a song for your bear-trapped teddy
He looks uncomfy, think I'd be too.
But if I sing for your bear-trapped teddy
He will feel better in a day or two!

Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hoo
Yodel-leh-hee O-layhee Oly-ooo
Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hoo
Yodel-leh-hee yaba-daba yaba-doo!"

Bear: "Grooooooowllll!"

Pa: "Oh, yeah - that'll work. He's good."

Larry: "Yodel-leh-hee! Yodel-leh-hee yodel-leh-hoo!
No, wait! This should work!
Yodel-leh-hee! Yodel-leh-hoo yodel-leh-hoo!"

Quartet: "Now the moral of the story, it's the point we hope we've made:
When you go a little loopy better keep your nurse well paid!"

Larry: "Yodel-leh-hee! Yodel-leh-hoo!
Yodel odle odle aye de aye de ooo-ooo-ooo!"

Quartet: "Oh! Some would stand in silence while some just scratched their scalps
For the curious ways of the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps!"

Flood: Jars of Clay

Rain, rain on my face
It hasn't stopped raining for days
My world is a flood
Slowly I become one with the mud

[Chorus:]

But if I can't swim after forty days
and my mind is crushed by the thrashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up
Lift me up - when I'm falling
Lift me up - I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up - I need you to hold me
Lift me up - Keep me from drowning again

Downpour on my soul
Splashing in the ocean, I'm losing control
Dark sky all around
I can't feel my feet touching the ground

[Chorus]

Calm the storms that drench my eyes
Dry the streams still flowing
Cast down all the waves of sin
And guilt that overthrow me

[Chorus]

Lift me up - when I'm falling
Lift me up - I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up - I need you to hold me
Lift me up - Keep me from drowning again

Hey you guys! :)
