*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

OMG I love the shirt!!!
I have many MB20 friends that live in NY and I would love to come and visit them someday! When I do -- I want one of those cute shirts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if you could order one by calling the store directly. I'm sure you could.

Have you ever been to NYC?

I think there should be a NYC DISmeet. :scratchin

Hi Jennifer! Theres a NYC meet plan in progress over on the Focker thread. Kat is trying to work it out. I think its the first weekend in June? :confused3
I`ve never been to NYC. I live on the RI shore so I just have to go straight across CT. I dont think I should drive there, Amtrak was kinda expensive. My Best Friend growing up (in the hills of Mass) lives in Rye Brook. I was thinking of asking her.

Bummer your going (or might be) that weekend in Oct. I will be there the weekend after.

I have to go check out the plans for a possible NYC meet. I'll be around the first week of June because I still have to teach. Teaching when it's 80 degrees and you're itching for summer vacation to start is a nightmare.

I've never been to RI. We should do a house swap :rotfl:

If you happen to have AAA, you can get a discount on Amtrak tickets. I gotta say I'm not a fan of Amtrak. I took Amtrak to MD to visit my brother. I was able to get a train that left a half hour earlier than the original one I reserved. I ended up getting to MD 45 minutes after my original train (the one that left 30 minutes later) was suppose to arrive.

Rye Brook isn't that far from NYC. You can hop on the Metro North and come into Grand Central Station.

What are you exact October dates? As you can see, I'm too lazy to get up and look at a calendar or access one on my computer.

I had no idea Rob Thomas lives in NYC. I wonder where. I should call up my detective friend :rotfl:

You have to visit NYC just once. You'll love it. And lots to do here with your kids.

Im sure it would be one FUN trip though 4 sure!

We have AAA, Funny thing is when I put it into the computer for the train it was cheaper without it! very strange.

I`ve been to her house once. we went to Playland for the day. shes a interior designer.

You can look for Rob as you tour the city. I wonder if any of the tour buses visit his neighborhood?

I only know how to eat chicken, not feed it :rotfl2:

Maybe AAA is a scam!

Playland is not that far. Playland is no Magic Kingdom, that's for sure. Some of the rides there are so old now, it's a little scary.

Columbus day should have been a week later!

I thought his house was out on the Island.

I only have the Birnbaum's book. I have the one for kids and the one for grown ups. :thumbsup2

I'm interested in this Mickey Map that someone else posted. I think I will look this up.

GREAT shoes!!!:goodvibes
Pictures of Mouse Maps now posted at my PTR. Also, some shoes. (I'm a copy cat)

I'm sorry I'm so far behind...

Women and shoes. Wow.

IF you were going in OCT, I would think about Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach Club.....they are soooooooo convenient to Epcot and MGM...

I think the shoe obsession has something to do with the X chromosome.

I didn't even think about Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach Cliub.
Do you prefer the YC? Or BC?

As you know, I returned to work this week. It's been great to get back into the swing of things, but just very very busy! I've been reading resumes and am getting ready to interview people for an assistant teacher position. Every spring, we have answer some questions about professional development and write our grade preferences for the next school year. While this may seem very simple, it ends up being quite a task.

Both kindergarten classes put on a major play every year, so we've been working on ours. We are doing a year long study of Ancient Egypt, so our play is based on an Egyptian myth. It's just been cast and we're ready to go! Dance and music rehearsals have already started. And costumes are up next.

I got tickets to Sunday's Yankee game. You know what that means! Time to go buy Yankee sweatshirts and hats. Now, I need to make a trip to the Yankee Clubhouse on 5th Ave.

I've also been looking over ADRs. I love Mexican food and would like to think San Angel Inn would be great. But I've been reading a lot of negative reviews. Sadly, this may go.

I'm going to change one of our mornings at Kona to Ohana. I will never do Ohana for dinner again. We had horrible service in January.

My trip planning binder has been a work in progress. I'm such a perfectionist, that I want to get the asthetics perfect before I put anything inside. I'm working on a cover, layout, dividers, etc. Talk about anal!

I'd like to purchase some new luggage. So, I'm looking into that.

And I just checked my TGM page, I have 129 days until Disney!!!! :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo: Double digits soon!!!!

Coming tonight: Did I get my shirtless trainer pic? & Photos from January 2008 trip!

well aren't you going to be busy. I am dog sitting the next 3 weeks. :sad2:

You are a busy gal!

I love it that the kindergarteners are putting on a play about ancient Egypt! That's awesome!

Hi Jennifer!!! Your nephew is such a doll!!!!!!

I am excited to read about your pt report!!!

Thanks!!! I did have Major Domo's pie and LOVED it. I had it both times. I'm excited about breakfast CRT. I hope the food is good.

I'm feeling much better, thanks!

The pineapple corer is great. You can remove the inside of the pineapple and put a drink in it. And you end up with nice pineapple slices. As soon as I'm off the meds I'm making some Lapu Lapus.

Okay, do tell about hte lapu lapus! What is in it? I have heard they are fantastic!

The surgery was an experience. I'll update on that.

You and Scott have convinced me that ME is worth it. I hate baggage claim and I love that the Disney experience starts at the airport!

I have not done Typhoon or Blizzard before, but think August will be a great time to try them. Which is your preference?

definitely think about Kona for dinner.

No I have not. To busy thinking about the possible move. I have shopping on my mind. :rotfl2:

Dad: He enjoys Disney, but doesn't get involved in planning anything. He just wants to know what days he has to take off from work and when he has to be at the airport.

I'm here! A little late, but here just the same!! :goodvibes

Ok - I am ONLY on page 7, but I figured I better start my comments NOW... since I'm sure there will be plenty to add to later.........:lmao:

The description of your Dad just cracked me up - sounds like my husband to the "T"!!!!!!!!

I used to be a school librarian, and my FAVORITE classes were Kindergarten and First Grade! What "sponges" they are at that age!! (and they still love their teachers...:cutie: )

I prefer Blizzard Beach to Typhoon Lagoon - but only because I like the "Bob Pool" better than the "Wave Pool"... I am not a thrill seeker when it comes to water. DD and DH liked both, but tended to enjoy Typhoon more. We are going to hit both this June, weather permitting.

Since we stay at the Dolphin, we can't use ME .. but I have to say, I like the town car service, even if it means waiting for our bags. I don't like hoarding onto buses - another reason I love the Dolphin - we have water launches for HS and Epcot.

I am guessing you have fully recovered from your surgery, since we've chatted on our other threads! :cheer2: (and I'm glad you mentioned the septum surgery is painful - that took care of my idea of getting mine fixed.. breathing is overrated, anyway.....)

I'll be back to catch up later!!! :surfweb:
