*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

First of all, I LOVE  the shoes! Great finds!
I can't, however, imagine doing much of anything in them. They are certainly not "walk around the park" shoes nor are they "teach kindergarden" shoes. Clearly there's a side to you we don't know about!

When in Oct. will you 'maybe' have the 5 day weekend? We're ending up with 4 days on the 24th-27th.

I only have the Birnbaum's book. I have the one for kids and the one for grown ups. :thumbsup2

I'm interested in this Mickey Map that someone else posted. I think I will look this up.

GREAT shoes!!!:goodvibes

I have to get the Birnbaum's book for kids. And that Mickey map book does look interesting. I'll probably end up with 5 new books this week.

Thanks!! I love buying shoes :)

I would stay at POR and save your money. do the regular dining plan. then you can experience the boat to DTD, it is wonderful.

I would book through Jetblue.

I checked rates from 10/9 - 10/13 and WOW, it is $174 one way for 1 person. I paid $74 each way pp.

How long does it take to get from POR to MK?

Thanks! I think I have a shoe addiction too. I couldn't imagine walking around the parks with them and I would NEVER teach in them. Although, my students are fascinated with my shoes. They're mostly for going out, dinners, lounges, that sort of thing :rotfl2:

I will probably end up going Columbus day weekend. I wish I could go on Halloween, but I have to attend the NAGC convention in Tampa. :sad2:

The shoes are great!
How is YOUR trip planning going??

Thanks :goodvibes
The trip planning is coming along. Well, the shopping part is....:rolleyes1

You're truly lucky to be able to attend the NAGC conf. I teach gifted, but there isn't anyone around here willing to send me to Tampa. It's a shame. I'd also like to go to the Atl. conf. in May, but again, NO FUNDS! :sad1:

I will try to take some pictures. The pics and description online don't do it justice. I will warn you, I think it is in limited production. It took me several weeks to get mine after I ordered it.

I love the UGs. I have used them since my trips in the '80s. Every time I plan a Disney trip, I buy one. I even caught myself a couple of months ago comparing the 1997 version to the 2008 version to see what's changed. Fun! (obsessive?)

Nope, they don't have many pictures, but they are fun to read (fun writing style) and have updated information (plus you can check their online site for updates since last publication). I think the advice is wonderful, but I pick and choose. Not going commando!

I'm w/ Scott... Do POR... get your own flights so u can poss save some money which will be better spent on souvies :woohoo:

10 - 15 minutes. I always got the bus in the morning that went from south depot to the parks without going around the resort.
do u leave early for the parks?
Really I had no problems with the times on the busses. Holiday weekend might be a little busier so give yourself an extra 5 minutes. I think only once I had to stand.

I like the UG's writing style too. And some of the cartoons are very funny.

That is beginning to be the more appealing option.

That's not bad at all. I think I can handle that. Sometimes, with the wait, the monorail can take just as long.

I get behind a day and missed a few of my favorite things! Guide books! Grease 2...He's a cool cool cool Rider :rolleyes1 Shoes!!! and Trips in October!!!

I gotta watch Grease 2 this weekend :lmao:

There may be a guidebook order before the end of the week.

I'm very fortunate to work with a school and administration that support professional development.

It is a shame that your school won't pay to send you to NAGC. It's a great convention and I get lots of resources every year. We may have openings at my school and it's K-12. Any interest in relocating to New York? It's a great school :thumbsup2

Shirt for me. Got the same one for mom, but we will NOT wear them at the same time.

I want that shirt SOO bad! Did you get it at the NYC store?! I want it I want it I want it. I think I am coming to the city in April....I'll have to get it then, if that's where you got it....:worship:

Thanks! I live in the World of Disney Store.
If I would have continued to read, I would have had my answer to my question....never mind the previous post....

We're voting on next year's school calendar at our faculty meeting next week. As I've been looking over the choices, it appears that we will have a 5 day weekend in October. If that's the case, I'm considering another trip to Disney foir MNSSHP :woohoo:

I TENTATIVELY AM GOING THAT WEEK TOO!! We don't have that friday off, though, and my district is giving me a REALLY hard time on it. However my family and I are celebrating my mom's remission so I am hoping that they'll let me take that day off...but it does not look good....so my trip might have to be canceled! But...maybe I can finagle...and we can do a dis meet!!! (am I indecisive enough for you?!)

They have lots of the NY shirts at the World of Disney store on 5th Ave. They might even have a bag. I'm considering that. If you're in the city, let me know.

We ended up with a long weeked because of how one of the Jewish holidays and Columbus day fell so close together. We would be off on Thursday and Monday, so we voted to have off on Friday also. Once I get the official calendar, I'm going to make definite plans. I'm still trying to figure out if I should leave Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

I think a trip to celebrate your mom's remission is a terrific!!! Is there any way you can just call in sick that day? Why is your district being so stubborn about it? One day is really not that big of a deal. I hope your district doesn't give you trouble with it.

If we're there that weekend, we have to do a dismeet over some Dole Whip :rotfl:

OMG I love the shirt!!!
I have many MB20 friends that live in NY and I would love to come and visit them someday! When I do -- I want one of those cute shirts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
