Childfree Disney fans?

Dh and I are huge Disney fans and we are DINKS (double income, no kids). Can't wait for our upcoming trip - almost doing the single digit dance.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

No kids here! We have three cats so who needs kids?

I am also a teacher so I get enough of everyone else's children on a daily basis!

I love kids, but personally I can't see myself cut out to mother anything without a tail. :lovestruc Right now I have three kitties, three rats, a mouse, and five betta fish!

No kids and have only been to WDW once as a solo, as part of a business trip. My next trip is going to be solo and I'm going to get to do all the things I wanted to but never got a chance to.

I do have two pugs though, that I consider my kids.

I was soooo glad to find this thread. I have been a lurker on these boards for quite some time. When I found this forum and this thread, I had to come out of hiding.

DH and I have been married for 8 years and are childfree by choice. We love Disney!! We have two furbabies (shih tzus) and we love to spoil them.

I am happy to see that there are so many other people out there like us. I am often guilty of telling people that I know my choice not to have children sounds selfish, but after reading some of these posts, I think that the correct reply is that I am doing what is right for me.

Welcome, Mickey with an A. This thread brought me out of lurking awhile back, too. It is nice to know we aren't alone. In my workplace, having children is a badge of honor. The company gives gift certificates to parents-to-be, and the new arrivals get a share of company stock. Parents bring their little ones in, and the office literally comes to a standstill as everyone gathers in a giant "baby circle" around the new arrival. Don't get me wrong; I share in my co-workers' happiness and celebrate along with them. But those of us who have chosen not to have children are in some ways left behind and are made to feel inadequate. It's always comforting to know that other childfree couples face these same challenges--and share a love for all things Disney besides!

No kids here and we (me and Dbf) are BIG Disney fans . . . . . we actually both work for the Mouse himself!! but here are our 2 furry ones!!

Only kids here at the moment are the Inner 8-Year-Olds of DH-to-be and me. They're more than enough to handle, particularly when Rock-N-Roller Coaster and Haunted Mansion are involved.

And when we do get around to producing our own little Mouseketeer, he/she will be staying home with the grandparents until he/she is at least 7 or 8 and able to reasonably withstand our usual pace.

Disney is NOT for little kids.

Cheers,
Q

Wow, so many new posters to this thread! Welcome, everybody!

EvelinaDM101, your dogs are so adorable! Are they particular breeds or are they mixes??

I'm so glad this thread keeps going! It's great that so many childfree people enjoy WDW.

BTW, for those of you who might not have seen it, there is a long thread regarding "Screaming Children at Disney World" on this board. One of the most recent posts stated that "Disney is primarily for children." Guess the OP hasn't dropped by this thread!

Vacations, now, are really cool
Without dear son
Who’s now back in school.
We pay for college
To keep him busy.
And we take off
To visit Disney.
(The rhyming is off -
But we don’t care!)
Our countdown’s saying
We’re almost there!

I'm 30 and child-free. I come from a whole family that *used* to be child-free disney-loving adults, but the past year put that to rest. My oldest brother, at the age of 36, had his first son last year and guess where his son spent his first birthday - yep, Disneyland! My oldest sister just had her first as well at the age of 36 and has yet to make it back to WDW but I send her Disney gifts all the time to make up for it. But we all have spent a number of vacations at Disneyland and WDW without any children.

I actually can't wait until the day I can take my own child. It'll just be far off in the future.

I do have one baby - my pekingese Lulu - I'm sure that if little dogs were allowed in the World, she'd have a blast. LOL. :D

Kid free here!

Don't have 'em, don't want 'em!

Freedom is priceless!!!!

:moped:

Just bumping this back up to the first page!

DH and I just got married in March 2004. We don't have any kids yet, but we are planning to in a couple of years. We love Disney!
