Chicago "Sea What's Next" DVC Event!

Here's the link for PP's that were interested in registering: http://www.disneynow.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x19799efcb

I originally found the link on another DIS post or Google search, can't remember which; so you don't need a special email invitation to register. I would register quick if you're interested, several times are full.

We're registered for Fri evening but I'm fairly sure we won't be adding on since we just bought our 1st contract last month. But I definitely would if I could because I know our 100 points will go fast each year or every other!

See my fellow DVC neighbors and DIS'ers in 2 weeks!

I'm doing Sunday night at 7PM. We've been to everyone of htese I think (starting with the first where the lobby airconditioning failed right before the event and they brought in portable air conditioners!).

My favorite was when they had a sampler platter from Saanaa at AKV long before it opened!

I've even bought at a coule of these - there is no presure, but the offers are usually the best out there (still remembering my 400 developers' points at AKV for a 200 point contract!).

There are always small gifts (the luggage tags and passport/ticket holders in a faux Burberry plaid were really cool - one year at a February one, they gave out ice scrapers!).

It is a great time and they will do everything they can to make sure you have a good time even if you don't buy a thing.

Hope to see some of you there!

I would also love to know if it's coming to Long Island. We had a great time at the last one. It was 2 days before our trip home and it really got the kids going.

Excited to be going tonight! :yay: Just wish I didn't have to miss the 1st part of the Blackhawks (and Cubbies) games - hopefully some Disney magic can keep my mind off of what is going on. ;)

Go Hawks :cheer2:

So are the offers presented at these events really only good for those who attend, or is it possible to talk with a guide in Orlando or Anaheim, reference an offer made at the Chicago event and get the same pricing? I'm heading to Disneyland in a little over a week and am considering adding on some points at VGC. I can only buy when I'm on site due to where I live so I only have a limited window to get the current pricing and promoti9ons straight.

If I hear about a good incentive online it would be nice to be able to discuss it when I'm in California.

I would like to know this as well.

I was at the 'Sea What's Next Event' last night. My family and I had a great time. Being our first members event, my wife was not really excited and thought all we were gonna sit thru was a boring sales pitch and she was very adamant that we weren't gonna get more points at this time. Well, at the end of the night she and the kids had a blast and she is even contemplating an add on.

The presentation was entertaining (about 1 hour) as only DVC can do and mostly showed the new Dream ship . The incentives of course were great and makes it so tempting to add on. Then came the party with Mickey, Minne, Pluto, Goofy, Donald. They danced and took pictures with the kids. Along with drinks, sandwiches, and ice cream.

Welcome CHI-DISNEY! Glad you had fun and thank you for your report! :)

Just got off the phone with Doorway to Dreams on Long Island. The gentleman told me they are looking into doing a presentation like "Sea What's Next" here on Long Island in August. :cool1::cool1::cool1: Hopefully it happens. I will be looking for the invitation.

So from what I can tell...the going rate at this meeting is the same as to the general public? Were the incentives any different? :confused3

Some of it was the same, some was better - here are some differences I note based on dvcnews.com:

AKV - no difference except they did have an additional incentive for $17 off 250 points or more.

GCV - dvcnews shows no discount under 100 points, they were offering $10 point off up to 99 points, 100 points and above was $17 off per point ($15 is current incentive) and it did go up from there.

BLT - pricing was the same for 50-124, but the $12 off per point began at 125, not 250 as dvcnews reports for the current incentive, and there was a $14 point off incentive for over 250 points.

I didn't get a price sheet for Saratoga, sorry. ;)

That sounds a little better for VGC then what I was sent by a rep last week.
