Good afternoon all. Well, saw the work doc, and I am all cleared to go back to work. Start Friday. Wish I had til after the holiday. It's hard to find a sitter for 1 day to arrive here at 7am. MIL is without a car at the moment, and my mom doesn't do well til later in the morning. She will get here at 10. Anyone have a sitter usable for 3 early morning hours?:rotfl:
Vet called and Tiggs surgery went well and he's resting. We pick him up tomorrow.

geffric, sorry to hear of all your appliance troubles. Why does that rule of 3s always apply. Let's see, fridge, dishwasher, (uh, oh)still one left. Hopefully you'll luck out and nothing else will go wrong.

Bunchkin, I hope Hunter has a better bus day today. The mangey mutt is 7months old now. He's into stalking the squirrels, the birds and the bugs!!! And he can't seem to keep his nose off any piece of paper he's able to grab-be it paper towels, toilet paper, kids art projects - he's not picky.:rotfl2:

DMM, I was out and about this morning for therapy and my follow-up visit with the occupational health doc and no rain that way. Come home to find the pavement all wet. Guess it rained here pretty good, but just for a short bit. Sun was back out when I got home and no more rain.
Can't say I'm thrilled with the list of stars dancing this fall. Not "must see" TV for me.:sad2: Somehow, Wayne Newton just doesn't have the same older gentleman appeal that the 2 Johns had. Or Jerry. Cameron is OK. The girls dancing really do not interest me much. Jennie Garth would be the only one I would root for. Oh well, one less night of TV I have to worry about.

Bigben, how many more episodes of Fat March are there? You guys are almost to DC. I was also wondering if any of you kept in touch with Will. He didn't seem to be all that well-liked by the group.

Well, promised DD I would take her out to shop at Target this afternoon. Yesterday, she gave her brother $17 to help him buy a Lego Star Wars ship. That was just too kind of her, so now I feel the need to reward her kindness.:flower3: The kids are both doing well. Thanks for asking. They are both talking once again, and while I missed their little voices this past week, I'm sure it won't be long until I wish they were quiet again.:rolleyes1
I'll check in later tonight.

2 words: DUCT TAPE!! :rotfl:
I believe at least in Wisconsin it's legal to use this to keep kids quiet!! :rotfl2: ;) ;) ;)

So glad to hear they're doing better!! :thumbsup2
And glad to hear you're on your way back to work!! I'm guessing then that they never offered your position up for grabs....thank goodness!!! ::yes::

Thanks for all the support guys

Tig - There are 2 more episodes left.

People still keep in contact with everyone. I talk to about 4 marchers by phone and the rest through the internet. We really do try to support eachother.

Geffric -- EEK for all your problems. Please don't come near me! Dishwashers & I have issues. Usually replace them every 3 years or so due to weird problems. It's gotten to the point of we buy the cheap one with the extended warranty (that's what we did last time figuring we would play reverse psychology on the thing! Yes, I know it's just an object but still!!!). Went the buy a good one/get what you pay for route and still ended up with a broken one -- so figured we'd go the opposite way & EVEN buy the extended warranty (because you know when you buy those -- the things never break! :lmao: )

Bunchkin -- I'm sorry about the bus, hopefully that situation will get resolved. Luckily, we don't start riding the bus until middle school for my kids & at least for DD it's a nice mix of kids (well..plus the fact that she likes to sit in the front of the bus anyway even with the unspoken rule of 8th graders in the back -- so she never has any problems).

Donna -- I didn't know that about your son (I have a hard time keeping up). My DD is in choir & I'm *so* nervous for her for next week, she's trying out for a extra-curricular choir. Last year they opened it up just to see if there was interest & this year they are making them do try-outs. She said they are looking for about 30 students. I think they had 60 last year. I'm not so sure she'll make it even though she was on it last year. I know when it comes Feb. or so & they have to figure out what they are doing next year, she will be trying out for the higher level choirs in HS. :scared1: She was doing violin but dropped it this year...so YEAH only 3 concerts instead of 6 I have to attend for her. :rotfl:

Bigben -- Good to know it's 2 episodes. I thought from the previews at the end of the last show that next week would be the last one.

No rain out this way -- at least right now.

The boys have to go to karate tonight -- last one of this session. It's going to get interesting next week when my 10 year old doesn't show up (he doesn't want to continue) but my 7 year old does. I'm not looking forward to the questioning by the instructors. DS-10 just says "it's boring" -- what I really think is it's gotten harder, the pace has increased since he went up a belt and he doesn't want to put the effort into it. He did want to quit end of last session but I had already signed him up for the summer session, so he had to finish it out and I thought maybe he would change his mind but for the last *several* weeks, he always asks "how many more weeks of it?", so I know he's done. I'm kind of sad because he was doing good in it & he has been doing it for a couple years but it's how it goes.

:rotfl2: funny!!!
No, they never sold me out. Almost sorry. I really am having stress over having to return. Not sure I'll remember what to do.:lmao: I'll have to tell the lady not to push until a Real Nurse can get to the room.:lmao: :rotfl2:

Thanks Big Ben, good to know it isn't over yet. Glad you all still support one another after it ended.

Well, better run. We're having breakfast for dinner tonight. Bacon and eggs. Kids are having eggs. I am really running out of ideas for food for
them. They aren't fond of oatmeal. I think they should be able to eat regular food soon. Noone ever told me how long to continue with soft stuff. Sandy, what did you do with Stephanie? Funny, I'm not a peds nurse so when it comes to this stuff, I'm just like everyone else, but I think the docs forget that.

Hi! I'm new to this thread, but figured this was the best place to post this. I have 4 passes to the Brookfield zoo that expire 8/31 which is this Friday. I can't use them and would hate to throw them out. They are good for 1 adult or 1 child's admission to the zoo.

If anyone wants them, feel free to PM me. You can pick them up in Lagrange on Thursday from 8 until 4:30 or Downers Grove on Friday.

Hope someone could use them!

Hi there!!! :wave2:
Thanks for offering the tickets - that was really nice of you :goodvibes

Please come by often to visit - we would love to get to know you!! :)

:surfweb:

geffric - I"m so sorry to hear about all your kitchen troubles :guilty: Sending lots of PD your way for them to get fixed soon :wizard: and for life to get back to normal
**Your Mickey Wine Bottle stopper sounds great - I'm glad you were able to use it :goodvibes

Donna - Job searching must be stressful for Christopher:headache: Sending lots of PD his way for him to find the perfect job soon :wizard: :wizard:

Bunchkin -I"m glad Hunter had an easier time on the bus yesterday :) And I agree with you about what you said - it's very hard to teach your child what to do w/o confusing them - I"ve been in that same predicament myself with STephanie ::yes::

bigben - That's great that you still keep in touch with the marchers :goodvibes

Becky - I felt the same way when I pulled Stephanie out of gymnastics and just put her in dance. She was the same way as your son, but she didn't admit it, I could just see it written all over her face and body language

Tiggerrnnnn - Stephanie ate lots and lots of soup (she loves soup). Plus she ate lots of applesauce, baby food fruit, mashed potatoes, Cream of Wheat, and I'll have to think of other things. I'm not sure how long I did it, but I now it was for awhile because I didn't want her scratching open a scab in her throat and start bleeding w/o me knowing about it

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - I think I'm going to go to the grocery store before work today (I"m really not in the mood)

Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Morning!! :sunny:

Isn't this weather great!!! :cool1:

Tiggerrn I'm sure you'll remember what to do as soon as you get back to the hospital!! ;) Once you hear that first scream of pain it will all come back!!! :rotfl: ............and then you'll wish you were back home!!! :rotfl2:

slo You mentioning Cream of Wheat just reminded me of how much I used to love that stuff when I was a kid. :goodvibes I don't think I've had that since Lauren was a baby. She liked it for a short time.

bigben That's great that all of the Marchers continue to support one another!! :thumbsup2

sunlover13 :welcome: to the Chicago thread!!!
That's really nice of you to offer up your tickets to the zoo!
I myself cannot utilize them, but maybe someone else here can!! :thumbsup2

Hello Everyone! Quick fly by. Just got home from Disneyland a few hours ago and still digging through mail (both snailmail and email). Disneyland was great as always. I try not to compare too much with Disneyworld, but it's hard not to do it a little bit. There are some areas where Disneyland pales in comparison to the MK. Mostly in areas of efficiency. But of course, there are other areas where Disneyland just blows the MK away. Mostly in attention to theme detail and just all around "feeling the magic". Another huge area where I've always felt Disneyland just completely blows WDW out of the water is their fireworks show, and this trip reconfirmed that feeling. WDW does a nice fireworks show, whether Wishes in the MK, Illuminations in Epcot, or Fantasmic in the Studios. But, Disneyland Park has always awed me with their absolutely stunning fireworks spectaculars.

Anyway, more later. Gotta run.

:surfweb: Just finished watching BB--"Wamber" finally got voted off :thumbsup2 Put the last load of wash in for DS as DH and I are taking him back to college tomorrow. the van's all packed. just last minute stuff and we're off bright and early! DD has Senior Night at 7pm so we'll have to hussle with the college room set-up in order to get back in time. I'm off work until Tuesday :woohoo: so all is well! Go Cubbies! Got WGN tuned in and we've just gone aheadpopcorn:: Wouldn't it be GREAT to have another World Series in Chicago!

Great pic!!!
Hi everyone!

:surfweb:

It was so hard getting up this morning.
Last night was some great sleeping weather :teeth:

Bunchkin - I love that picture of Lauren with Cinderella :goodvibes I bet you are so excited that you are under the 30 day mark :yay: Have you told the kids teachers yet about them missing school? Does your school say anything to you about this? Stephanie's school always sends me a note from the principal, which tells me how much they disapprove of her missing school, and how it is hindering her education  Give me a break!!!!

Crissup - Welcome home!!!! :wave2: I"m glad you had a nice time in DL :goodvibes

dzneelvr - Good luck to your DS for when he goes back to school. I hope he has a great semester!! :)

Debbie - :wave2:

This thread wasn't to busy yesterday - I hope that means that everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather :goodvibes It's going to be beautiful again today - so whoever can be outside, I hope you enjoy yourselves. I wish I could keep the doors open at the store, but it would get to hot inside:rolleyes:

Have a great day today everyone!!!

Okay.......

I discovered online banking, and I love it!!!!

I haven't balanced my one check book for over a year, and I was able to do that today:thumbsup2 It took me a long time, but what a feeling of accomplishment now that it's done :woohoo:

If you haven't discovered online banking, look into it, I'm wishing I would have done it sooner :thumbsup2

Hi to all, quick fly by-

Slo- yes, DH and I do online banking. We reconcile our bank statements that way and order checks.

Geffric- sorry to hear about your dishwasher and frig woes :guilty:
Hope everything will be repaired soon :wizard:

Donna- we love music here at home! I took a few yrs of piano lessons when I was a kid, not really my choice, but did it anyways. I love to sing tho!
We had many cassette tapes playing, of lullabies singing lullabies and instrumentals, when Chrissy was in the hosp. for 4 months when she was an infant. The kids still love hearing soft music at night when they go to bed.
Oh, are you going to Septemberfest this weekend?
Matthew is probably going to march in the parade on Monday with his Cub Scout Pack :thumbsup2

DMM- glad you and baby are doing well :thumbsup2

Welcome to all the new peeps!

Hi to all!

Gonna be a busy weekend by me.

Have a good Labor Day weekend everyone!

Good morning! It looks like this weekend while it will be busy the weather looks to be wonderful. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend enjoying the weather and stays safe.

Slo Did Kevin have any luck with Hammond about your car?

So far Alex is not having as much homework as I thought he would. He has been doing his homework while waiting for the bus to come home. Such a strange boy. I procrastinate, I still haven't done my homework for his teacher. I have to email an essay telling them about my son. :confused3

Happy weekend, Chicagoland! I hope everyone gets to truly enjoy this 3 day holiday!

Would appreciate thoughts and prayers for Mark's sister, who is a year younger than he is, and was just diagnosed with a rare type of female cancer. She had surgery yesterday and we are now waiting for the results of a lymph node biopsy. Thanks, friends.

Slo...Mark does a bit with online banking, and seems to like it a lot, too.

Bunchkin...what a GREAT picture of Lauren & Cinderella. Thanks for sharing!

Crissup...would love to see some pictures of Disneyland! I'm glad you guys had a good trip.

Becky...all the best for your DD in her choir tryout! I'm sure she'll do great!

Geffric..thanks again!

Rose...I'm glad music is so special in your family! Yes, we are planning on Septemberfest...Brian's band/choir is in the parade on Monday. Look for the small Driscoll Catholic high school group...he is the director!

Everyone...have a super weekend...enjoy the gorgeous weather!!!!

Donna Of course I will put Mark's sister in my prayers. I hope she gets good news that it hasn't spread and can be treated easily.
