Glad you stopped by Dan! :wave2:

Good to hear you weathered the storm ok! :thumbsup2
Hope your family is doing well. :goodvibes

Dan- sorry to hear you were out of power for 1 to 2 days :guilty:
Glad the power is back on by you :thumbsup2 That is so cool you were able to help out your neighbors like you did :thumbsup2
Hope all is back to normal by you.
Please tell Marie I said hello. Hope all is well with your grandson, Natalie, and Natalie's husband :)

Please come by the CB board more often :)

Hello all! I decided today would be a good idea to scrub grout in the hallway and clean the throw rugs. Bad idea, now I'm pooped. I also mowed down the grass wow did it get long.

I'm glad to hear everyone is well and accounted for:cool1:

Ok back to the laundry.

Yawn.........:surfweb:

We had a great family day until the end.

We started off going out to breakfast - we hadn't done that in awhile.
Then we were off to the city!! We first went to Navy Pier, where it was crowded, not dreadfully so. We did a little shopping, rode the ferris wheel, Stephanie rode the swings for the first time, and Katie and I rode the merry go round - it was fun!!!! :cool1: Then we did a little walking around, and I had my first Dippin Dots (they were okay, I don't need to get them again anytime soon:rolleyes: ) We then got our couple bags of popcorn, 1 cheese and 1 caramel, and our cinnamon nuts, and off we went to State Street.

Once at State Street we went shopping at The Childrens Place and Old Navy where the kids got some new outfits:goodvibes I would have liked to shop longer, but the stores close early on Sundays:guilty: So we then went to House of Blues for dinner, and that was very good, and very empty:thumbsup2

On the walk back to our car we walked past where were filming a scene from the new Angelina Jolie movie Wanted. She wasn't there, but it was really cool seeing what was going on. If it wasn't already dark, and the kids didn't have school today, we would have stayed and watched.

Once in the car, we headed home. When we got on the Dan Ryan the traffic was stopped:eek: The radio said that it was 1 1/2 hours to go about 5 miles:scared1: There was no exits until after Comisky Park, and that took us forever to get there. Once we got off, and went to the Outer Drive (RT 41) it was smooth sailing. When we got to Hammond, Kevin was pulling over to let an ambulance go by, he hit a pot hole as big as our house. We heard a BANG from the car, and when we got to see what happened, both tires on the right side of the car were flat:eek: It was 9:30pm, and Kevin had to call his dad to come get us, and have his dad call a tow truck. By the time we got home from all this, it was 11pm:eek: The kids were dead tired :faint: I feel bad for STephanie who has to get up now for school - she's not going to be happy!!!!:sad2:

So Kevin is taking a personal day, to go to the tire place (that's where the car is now) to see what else could be wrong with the car (I hope there's nothing else wrong - this is already costing us a lot of money).

So that was our day yesterday. 90% of it was great, but the other 10% was a thumbs down:guilty:

Bunchkin - How annoying that they were up until 4am:mad: Did the kids have a hard time falling asleep, or did it make them wake up?
**That's could you had a couple of heart palpitations with the monitor, so they can see what you are talking about. It's always a drag when medical symptoms aren't there when you go to the doctor.

Dan - Hi there!!!! I've been meaning to write to you, and I just haven't had a chance. I"m glad to see you all are okay!!! How's the baby???

HERSEY - Wow, you did alot yesterday!!! I need to clean this house too - it's embarrassing!!

To everyone else - :wave2:

I now must go wake up Stephanie - wish me luck!!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!

Oh Sandy that stinks to have such an awful ending to a great day :sad2:

I didn't even know Angelina was in town! She's my fave! I think she's gorgeous!!

Morning everyone! Sal should be home at half day and i'm off to the OB for todays appt. Let's hope that I get to FINALLY pick a baby day!

this show does not have ANY of the Disney material mentioned in the
listing below. Some TV listing data bases do mention the Disney
material, so this show may come up in a Tivo search or other online
searches. The incorrect listing states "Included: Jurassic Park the
Ride; Disneyland's Indiana Jones and the Forbidden Eye; Soarin' Over
California; and Sea World San Diegos' 4-D Pirate Movie Adventure." The
correct listing (from the Travel Channel) is "Follow the hidden, inner

segment of the show is the last 5 minutes or so. It is really just a
short history of Animatronics. Lots of footage we've seen before
<Wathel Rogers in the Carousel of Progress programming harness, etc.>.
Segments are shown from all the parks and going back 50 years.
Expedition Everest's Yeti is shown, but commentary says it opened in
2005 instead of the correct year of 2006. Lucky the Dinosaur is also
shown. Worth recording for the completist. Interesting, but not
essential viewing.)

This show will repeat

Morning all. Had a nice day yesterday. Caught up on all the laundry, cleaned the house and got some pool time in between the popscicle duties. Made a last run to our ice cream place (yesterday was the last day for the summer :sad1: )They close so early.
Have therapy for my ankle this morning. They had to cancel on Saturday-no power.
Bunchkin, shame on those terribly inconsiderate neighbors. I hope you woke them early with outdoor chores the next morning.
Slo, sure wish your nice day hadn't ended so bad.
Well, just wanted to say a quick HI.
Dan, nice to know there are still some "angels" around when they are needed.
Hi, Rose, Hersey, Sam, Debbie, Becky, Mac (thanks for the listings), and everyone else. Need to run to the shower.
Later all.

I didn't even know Angelina was in town! She's my fave! I think she's gorgeous!!

Sorry DMM, but you cracked me up with this one. It has been on every TV new station, every newspaper, and all I've heard about for weeks is how Brangelina was in Chicago, staying at the Pennisula hotel, blah blah blah blah. They followed every move those people made and it was really annoying. I'm glad their gone now and we don't have to hear about it anymore! I don't like homewreckers! :rotfl:

SLO: Have you thought about calling the City of Hammond and reporting your damage due to their pothole? My friend got some tires out of the City of Chicago after hitting a huge pothole on the Chicago Skyway. They reimbursed her for the cost of her tires. If you have a police report, you can try to get some of your money back!

Sorry your day was ruined by that stupid hole!

Bunchkin, I would have called the police every hour on the hour reporting that party! Sheesh! I hate my neighbors too and I don't hesitate to report all the underage drinking and partying that goes on next door! Nothing like ruining a perfectly good weekend with all that malarky!

Well, it's back to work time!

Hi to everyone!! Hi Tiggerrn! How are the little tonsil-less kids doing? I hope they are well on their way to mending!

Good news.......

I finally had a sale after 2 days of no sales :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Bad news........

Kevin's car has approx. $2000 worth of damages :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
My insurance agent asked, like you did Sam, about Hammond paying for this, but we had no police report done - we didn't think of it at the time:rolleyes: I will never not think of it again:sad2:

Thanks all for having sympathy for us - it really is a bummer :guilty:
But like I told Stephanie, we have alot to be grateful for. We have Grandpa (Kevin's dad) that came and got us, the tow truck didn't take forever to come get the car, and no one was hurt - it could have been much worse.

I don't think we are going to claim this on our insurance, but my insurance agent/friend, is going to do everything she can to help us with whatever American Family will help with - she's great!!!:goodvibes :thumbsup2

Well, I"m off to do some work
Later gaters!!

Hi everyone!

I didn't know about Angelina either but I live under a rock and don't really pay attention to those type of things. Tells you how often I get to watch TV that isn't preschooler/tween/teen programming.

Sorry to hear about the tires Slo. How awful.

Tomorrow DS-10 gets his French Horn -- so EEK!!! :scared1: He can't wait though. Of course, I'm in the dark as to what is going on as usual. One of his friends apparently got a note home telling about it, for the after-school band part. I on the other hand only got a "band on Tuesday" written into his assignment notebook by his aide. I'm hoping a note will show up today or that will be interesting -- time to dig up an e-mail.

Activities will start picking up that's for sure. I know DD already told me that there is a note about the audtions for the extra-curricular choir but that will probably be handed out Tuesday so the entire class is there. She's anxious to make that (she's confident she will -- I on the other hand, am not so sure!! I really hope so or she will be crushed.).

Got my little guy scheduled for speech now so that works -- just have to figure out exactly where I'm going as it all moved over to the middle school. The speech therapist gave me some backwards way to get there that supposedly is easier & will take you directly to a parking lot for the preschool section and well -- I'm the person that needs a GPS for these type of things even though it's just across town. :lmao: I know how to go certain ways to get where I'm going and other directions baffle me. She was talking about roads that I had no idea where they were, I may have to take a test drive before our speech day as I was getting confused with her directions even though I know where the school is at.

Little guy is now down for nap so time for me to sneak some lunch in without having to share. ;)

Hi all!!!

Had to get a really early start out the door today after Hunter was off on the bus to school. I needed to return the heart monitor I was wearing.
Which by the way totally irritated my skin!!! UGGG!!! It actually looks like I got burnt in some spots from those electrodes.

Luckily I made it back from U of C hospital before 11am so I didn't miss Hunter's return bus which comes at 12:05. Although I had a neighbor ready to get him if I didn't make it!

Anyone seen the new Tastefully Simple line of products for this fall???
WOW!! Some of it looks so good!!!! YUM-O!!! :teeth:

slo Sorry to hear of your car troubles!!! What a total bummer to a great day!!! I guess there was more damage done than just 2 flat tires. That totally sounds like something that would happen to us!!!

DMM I can't believe you didn't see any of the coverage on the news about the Jolie/Pitt clan being in town!!

Hersey So you clean grout too? I'll have to keep that in mind! ;) :rotfl:

Sam The Peninsula has always been a place Lauren and I have wanted to stay.....especially since she found out that's where Bon Jovi stays when they are in town. She's already had one experience staying at the same hotel , one floor down, as they were.
As for Jolie/Pitt, like we needed to see Angelina taking her kid to the book store in every news format, no less in a long sleeve shirt in our super hot weather we were having at the time. Like as if no one here goes to the book store....or the toy store for that matter. :rolleyes1
Come on lady give me a break.....and quit making your oldest kid walk around with weird hair cuts!!!! :rotfl:

1jolie.jpg

Aughh!! She's gorgeous!! Do we have any ROckford peeps here anymore?? You guys NEED to check out what makes news around here  HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL is on LIVE!! as though they were the BEARS! And all we hear about is what is going on with the HS in this town and on and on it goes! There is NOTHING Chicago about our news at all! And does anyone remember when all of PAris was in flames awhile back?? We never knew about it until we were at my parents house and saw the news! They have the WORST idea of news here!

Well i'm home from the Doc and the baby is fab, but no date yet! I'm happy he is doing well, but really want him out!!

Michelle be patient he isn't cooked yet. Yes I do remember being used as a punching/kicking bag too.

I'm sorry I'm not on the Angelina bandwagon. I do not endorse anyone who steals other peoples husbands or wives, no mater the reasons.

Slo Sorry your weekend turned out so bad. There should be something you can do about that pothole. I know in the city they have a number to call to file a claim with the city. I also believe you can still file a police report.

Bunchkin what stuff does Tastefully simple have?

I am so out of the loop with Tastefully Simple. I used to sell it but deactivated last year when I could not get consistent bookings. I will have to look and try some of the new stuff, always loved the fall/winter line the best.

Hi, all...hope everyone is doing okay...we were up in Door County, Wisconsin last week for an end-of-summer vacation...had a good time, and thankfully, the weather up there was much better than here in Chicago. In fact, I'm glad I didn't know what was going on here on Thursday afternoon, until it was over, or I would have prob gotten in the car and come back home! I love places with water views, boats, relaxing times, beautiful countryside, and nice places to stay, so I'm glad we had the chance to go up there for awhile.

A shout out to ALL of Chicagoland...have a great night! :)

Hi Everyone,

Just one quick reminder. Watch Fat March Tonight 9/8C

Thanks guys

March On

Michael

Hi Donna glad you were safe. How did Binx do. Minnie was beside herself she so wanted to be in another state.

Ben Thanks for the reminder. I have people at work watching too.

Donna Sounds like you and Mark had another great trip!! :)

Hersey I'll try to go from my memory as I don't have the new Tastefully Simple catalog in front of me. Hmmm....
There was these yummy looking garlic/cheesy biscuits, like the ones from Red Lobster.
A raspberry sauce to go on desserts.
A pumpkin bread.
A chocolate ugly cake. It's the kind were the liquid cooks up through the cake and makes a chocolate sauce!! YUMMY!! I've made this type of cake before using a Hershey's cookbook.
New soups.
A cranberry pecan bread.
A brown sugar sauce to go on top of desserts or breads or pancakes.

Gosh there seemed to be a lot. I'll have to go look at the catalog again and let you know the rest. :)

This cold I have is kicking my butt. I've been soooo congested, stuffy, tired, feverish. I hate summer colds!!! :headache:

UGH!!!!

I was going to watch Big Love which I decided not to watch last night and went over to the neighbors for a visit after the kids were in bed.
But now we're reminded by our resident tv star that his show is on!!!!

Well, I know Big Love will repeat all week......so Fat March it is!!! :cool1:
