We will be staying at BCV in March (8 nights) and would like to eat several nights at Epcot! :cool1: I have already planned Rose & Crown, Garden Grill, and San Angel! Also have planned LeCellier for lunch (had dinner there in Oct, but it is a favorite)! We have also eaten several times at Biergarten, so its off the list for this trip! :rotfl: We would like to try something new, so I'm thinking Chefs or Alfredos! Other thought might be Coral Reef, but very unsure (not huge seafood fans)! Would love some input or recent reviews! :cheer2: Thanks for any suggestions!

I don't know about Chef's but I can tell you that I wasn't thrilled with Alfredo's. The service was okay (it's a busy place so it's forgivable, to a point) we had the cesar salad which was good and we also had some potato filled pasta thingy's, which were also good, I think we had tortellini and alfredo pasta which I disliked, it was real sticky and dried out, I forget what we had for dessert or even if we had it. It was a year and a half ago so I can't remember too much with the exception that when we left we said we would never go there again. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.

We prefer Chefs de France over Alfredo's, but if I had younger kids w/ me I might opt for Alfredo's since it's harder to go wrong w/ some type of pasta.

If you have kids at that "right" age they might enjoy the Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Dining Room - since they cook the food right in front of you on a big teppan grill.

We went to Coral Reef based on reviews from disboard and were disappointed, the food was o.k. The fish tank could have been a lot more interesting.
We don't have children but other tables w/ them were only interested for about 10 minutes, then they just got cranky, service was slow, and the wait staff was mostly interested in how much they could "drain your wallet" so as to satisfy their evening.

This was funny: As we were being seated, my DH asked the host that escorted us to the table what he might think is really good on the menu and he said: "Oh! I'd never eat here." And he was dead serious, now I see why :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Haven't been to Chef's. But - and I'm sorry to say this - I can't recommend Alfredo's. I was prepared to enjoy it very much.

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo is my favorite. Can't get it with chicken, because they don't do that in Italy, they say. The fact that I HAD it that way in Italy I didn't bother mentioning. But that wasn't any big deal.

I've had lots of fettuccini alfredo, and this was the very worst ever.:( There was a big chunk of greesy cheese in the middle of the plate with noodles dumped on top. BF had spaghetti he didn't care for, as well.

The tables are far too crowded. They are so close that you're basically sitting with people you don't know, and everyone hears each other's conversation.

I hope you enjoy whatever you choose!

We've never been all that excited about Alfredo's, but we almost always end-up eating there by default. Usually towards the end of our trip, we will find ourselves hungry and tired in Epcot. It will be hours until our ADR, so we'll head to Alfredo's -- always one of the few places with openings. (We love Marrakesh; but, inevitably, we will have eaten there earlier in our trip.) So...we have yet another mediocre meal at Alfredo's. Sometimes the service is good (never great) and sometimes it is really awful. The food is always ok...but just ok. We haven't been to Chefs for dinner in a while but have a ressie for our Christmas trip.

I did both my last trip.. one was for lunch.. Alfredo's and the other was dinner, but I always get the names confused...so we ate on the second floor in France.. not sure if that is Chef's or not.. both were excellent..and I would recommend either/or...

I just ate at Alfredo's on Oct. 26th and loved it. Our server was wonderful and so friendly. We had bread that came with extra virgin olive oil, YUM! :goodvibes I had the fettuccine alfredo and loved it. Also, I had a salad with a raspberry vinaigrette which was my favorite. We were too stuffed to eat dessert but we saw the tray of desserts and they looked amazing. I plan on eating there again on our January '06 trip.

Chefs! it's really a lot like a Paris brasserie.
I can eat at Olive Garden [cough I mean Alfredo's] anytime....

I believe the second floor is the Bistro. It's a little more upscale (than Chef's), and incidentally does not accept the dining plan.

4 thumbs up for Lafredo's.

We rarely miss eating there. Food is very Authentic Italian, and that turns off some of the Olive Garden crowd.

I also give Alfredo's two thumbs up. We ate there for the first time in September, and now consider it a "must do" for our future trips. Food, service and atmosphere were all great!

We ate at Alfredo's for Lunch, although it was the same as a dinner. Here is my review:

L'Originale Alfredo di Roma - Lunch - Epcot **** (4 Stars)

Well, in light of saving 2 credits last night from Le Cellier, we decided to do a TS lunch using those 2 credits and paying for the kids OOP. Thus we ended up in Italy. It was relatively empty for lunchtime, but service was a bit slow. Our server had only been in the country for 2 months and was not great with his english, but friendly none-the-less.

Myself: Trittico di Pasta - The Pasta Trio - EXCELLENT. Perfect portions and some of the best pasta/sauces I've had in a while. I highly recommend this dish.

Wife: Lasaunga - She was very happy with this. The portion was a bit big for her, so she ended up giving some to one of my son's.

Kids: Pizza - Individual Pizza...was MUCH bigger than I expected. They LOVED it. Both of them ate a huge amount....we were glad to see them eat!

Here is the pic of the Pasta Trio:

And the Lasanga:

Desserts:

We chose the Dessert Sampler which our server said was allowed to be split on the plan. (1 sampler for 2 people's dessert). We figured the kids could have some, and we could have some without overdoing it. Our DS4 wanted to have the "lady bug", so we ended up ording that for him OOP.

These were ALL good...not a bad dessert to be found here! I don't think the sampler would be worth it if I was paying for it though.....the total amount of the sampler didn't add up to 2 individual desserts.

Here is the Sampler:

TOTAL BILL: (for 2 adults): $77

My family and I are dining there for Christmas Eve as well. (CP Package)
My DD and her friend ordered a cheese pizza in October for lunch and thought it was fine. I have never dined there for dinner, so this will be a first for us.

We are dining at Chef's on Dec. 15 (CP Package) when we go to see DD perform at Candlelight. We have also only dined here for lunch in the past.

I don't know about Alfredos but we had dinner at Chefs for the first time recently. Two thumbs up :flower: The service was great. We were on the dining plan and they did not have an appetizer for my DD8. But that wasn't an issue for us. She shared our appetizers. And if you like cheese the cheese plate appy is wonderful :lovestruc For our entree I had the filtet of sole with noodles. DH and DD12 had the chicken DD8 had the hamburger.
I don't recall what everyone had for dessert but I had the creme brulee. It was very good but I was too full to finish it! Have a great time with what ever you decide on!

From what part of Italy would you say the food from Alfredo's is "authentic"?IMHO Olive Garden tends to lean to southern italian dishes, although in more recent years they have added northern flavors (I haven't been there in 2 years).
Roma? This Alfredo's is not. It's not Toscana, Bolognese or Napolitano.
So, if you can tell me, I might be able to appreciate their selections next time my DH drags me in there just so he can hear me speak italian with the staff (hrrrrmph!).

The best time I had at Alfredo's was lunch last December. We got to eat al fresco. We found a nice Chianti and with the manager's help we "re-designed" a few of their entrees and app's for the best meal we'd ever had at Alfredo's.

I think it's a good thing that there are so many dining options to meet all the different people's tastes. Buon Appetito!
