Before going on our trip (just got back) I read several panels to get others opinions about doing a character dinner. Chef Mickeys had a lot of great reviews and some that weren't so great. Bottom line, everyone has their own opinion. I decided to take my kids (4 & 5) the 1st night we got there to get them excited since they had no idea of what to expect at Disney. It was our 1st time going as a family. Was it cute? Yes. Mickey, Pluto, Donald, Goofy, Minnie came to our table, we took pictures and the boys thought it was fun. Was it worth the money? No! It cost us about $150 (2 adults, 2 kids) for dinner. It was a buffet and not a very large selection of food. There's no way any of us ate what we paid for. I did notice, however, that when we got to Magic Kingdom the characters were mostly at the main entrance. If you didn't want to hang out at the main entrance all day, your chances of seeing any of them were slim to none (with the exception of a few who were actually inside the park...Buzz Lightyear and Rapunzel is who we saw). They are ALL in the celebrate parade (during the day) at Magic Kingdom. It's really your call. If you think your kids would get excited and you don't mind the expense, then go. I personally wouldn't return but did enjoy the experience.
