We will be in WDW during the first week in May. Katy (our DD) will be 20 months old at the time. Do you think CM would be too much atmosphere for her? We were at CP at age 8 months and she she did quite well, but a year is a lifetime at this age.

Any comments, suggestions, or tips?

Our DD was 21 months old when we took our first trip to Disney, and Chef Mickey's was our very first stop. She absolutely loved it! My favorite memory from this vacation was of her dancing and singing to the "Celebrate with Mickey Mouse" song as we waited for our table! DD loved the characters, and they had lots of great interaction with her. DD did get shy later in the week, but the characters were always great at recognizing when she wasn't in the mood and simply moved on to another table. The restaurant is rather loud, but we didn't have a problem with the atmosphere at all.

Have a great trip! :teeth:

I think she'll love it! I'm not sure if you are going to breakfast or dinner, but just make sure she's rested. I have seen kids at various character meals who are tired if they haven't rested before dinner and that's when they can have a "meltdown". If you are all in a Disney mood you'll have a wonderful time. Some of our best memories are at Chef Mickey's.
